I'd like to take the positives from this. I've been thinking all season that the players seemed strangely lethargic, but we seemed to have that spring in our step back for this match. I think everyone's been suffering from a bit of a motivational crisis after coming down from the highs of last season, but this match showed that they're still capable of getting it together when they need to. Maybe it was just an isolated incident due to it being the derby, but hopefully this is something we'll be able to take into the next game. They were ridiculously poor and without the sending off I was feeling like we could score 3~4 goals. Sending off was a bit harsh but there was no reason whatsoever for Tiote to be lunging at the ball like that after the whistle had gone already. His aggressive tendencies are getting a bit irritating now and he needs to learn how to control himself.

You have no way of knowing if a god exists or not, and you have no business dictating to other people what they should think. That's my opinion, and I'll leave it at that to prevent thread hijacking.

I don't want to take the thread off topic but this seems horribly narrow-minded to me. Why should you care about other people displaying their faith and what right do you have to tell them to keep it out of your sight? How would you feel if someone told you that you're not allowed to display your allegiance to NUFC in any way outside of the stadium because they think it's stupid?

It was definitely a goal, but you can understand how the linesman could be hesitant to give it. It's probably impossible to see with the naked eye and from an official's perspective, it's a lot easier to rule it out if it seems marginal than it is to run the risk of giving away a phantom goal. Just highlights how insane it is that we don't have goal-line technology yet.

Have to say I enjoy the utility having both Perch and Anita gives us. Utility players who can play a variety of positions. Makes the squad seem bigger than it actually is.
