  1. He'll either be leaving in the summer or seeing out his contract and then leaving. There is no way in hell we will offer him another contract on his current wages. Same goes for Jonas I suppose, although I imagine his wages aren't quite as high.

It's still completely inexplicable to me why the felt that it was a good idea to come out with the whole "it'll be reinvested" shit. Did they just assume we'd forget in six months time? For a lot of fans it was the only thing that justified his sale. It also bought them 6 months breathing space. What's the difference between people being pissed off then and a lot more people being pissed off now? It's not as if they needed to lie to avert mass riots or anything.

  4. To rephrase, what I'm trying to say is that I don't disagree with his general philosophy. Cutting costs, looking to turn a profit, not just spending just for the sake of it. What makes him such an odious owner for me is two things: his employment of an arrogant douchebag as face of the club, the completely inexplicable footballing decisions he makes, and the classless and inconsiderate moves like the whole sports direct signs fiasco. Mike Ashley executed properly would be an okay owner for a mid-table club like us to have.

I think its the Maiga one myself, they thought Sochaux would buckle at the end of window and they didn't, left us nowhere to go. Gameiro + Gervinho + Erdinc + Maiga = total epic fucking fail

It's actually even worse than that. It's clear that they know that there is a problem and people will be unhappy. And they think that a statement like this will actually make people feel better

Can't get over how terrible that statement is from a PR standpoint. There's no attempt to establish empathy with the audience whatsoever. Gives you a pretty good idea of what kind of person Llambias is, to be honest.
  8. Ashley without Llambias and without the periodic fits of complete idiocy would be a pretty decent owner tbh.
  9. Korea 6-0 Lebanon Hat trick from PCY, 2 goals from Ji. Arsenal fans rejoice. Your savior is here.

I would also like to know why every statement from the club is always so amateurish and poorly written.

Why make a statement that says essentially... Nothing?

I think it's actually pretty significant. That Newcastle united sign is very very prominent, I'm amazed he's resisted this long. Along with of course the Gallowgate end sign and the "official" name of the ground and every interview conducted at SJP has SD logo in the shot. He's getting a lot for free. DHL sponsor manure training kit for 42million ffs, not saying we are as good an advertising vehicle as they are but you would be amazed at the global exposure the PL offers, I don't believe clubs maximise it to it's fullest extent tbh. Sports Direct has a small-to-non-existent footprint outside the UK so I can't see him gaining anywhere near what an international brand like DHL would. Unsure how significant the benefits in the domestic market would be, but probably nowhere near large enough to make it so that he's actually turning a profit on the club.

I don't care if every word Barton says is gospel. Now that he's gone, he needs to shut the fuck up about this club instead of trying to unsettle people still under contract here. Hope we teach him a lesson on matchday.

It's none of your business you fucking attention whore.
  15. I think I've well and truly given up on transfer windows now. The club will not spend massive money and it will not buy players unless it can get them for under their "market value." Expect nothing and anything we get becomes a bonus. I'd rather just enjoy the games the best I can.
  16. Maybe we'll get him in January It's the hope that kills you.
  17. Just bought for 2.7 million by Man City on my FM
  18. Wait, what does SJH get out of any of this if the above is true? Hasn't he basically just given Mike Ashley the club for free?
  19. 1. Ashley "lends" SJH 138 million 2. SJH buys club for 138 million. Transfers debt to club. 3. Gives club to Ashley for $0.00 Is that how it's supposed to work? I don't understand how 2. would be feasible or legal.

In our current situation I'll take a cowardly manager over one with "principles" any day.
  21. I'd rather just not take loan players in general unless it's with a view to a permanent signing or we're in realistic danger of relegation. Pointless to take on a player who isn't even ours just to move up from 12th to 8th or something. Would rather give our young prospects playing time.
