I think it's actually pretty significant. That Newcastle united sign is very very prominent, I'm amazed he's resisted this long. Along with of course the Gallowgate end sign and the "official" name of the ground and every interview conducted at SJP has SD logo in the shot. He's getting a lot for free. DHL sponsor manure training kit for 42million ffs, not saying we are as good an advertising vehicle as they are but you would be amazed at the global exposure the PL offers, I don't believe clubs maximise it to it's fullest extent tbh. Sports Direct has a small-to-non-existent footprint outside the UK so I can't see him gaining anywhere near what an international brand like DHL would. Unsure how significant the benefits in the domestic market would be, but probably nowhere near large enough to make it so that he's actually turning a profit on the club.

I don't care if every word Barton says is gospel. Now that he's gone, he needs to shut the fuck up about this club instead of trying to unsettle people still under contract here. Hope we teach him a lesson on matchday.

I think I've well and truly given up on transfer windows now. The club will not spend massive money and it will not buy players unless it can get them for under their "market value." Expect nothing and anything we get becomes a bonus. I'd rather just enjoy the games the best I can.

I'd rather just not take loan players in general unless it's with a view to a permanent signing or we're in realistic danger of relegation. Pointless to take on a player who isn't even ours just to move up from 12th to 8th or something. Would rather give our young prospects playing time.

Yeah, this would have been an amazing transfer window if we hadn't been hit with a 35m windfall. Unfortunately, we were.

It's not complete fasting, just not eating while the sun is up. I was just in Bahrain and Oman for a week and people there seemed to have no trouble eating copious amounts of food after 7PM. Someone even told me that most people actually put on a couple of pounds during Ramadan I'm sure the club could arrange a reasonable diet for him where he can get the nutrition he needs through a dinner and a late snack every night. It's not ideal but it's hardly sack-worthy.

I suppose we can console ourselves with the fact that most clubs at our level have had pretty unremarkable transfer windows as well. The only mid-table club that's significantly stronger than last year is Stoke City. We can still compete decently enough despite standing still.
