  1. Pardew should be sacked on the spot if Ryan Taylor isn't off at half time. Pretty much single-handedly (almost) losing us the game so far
  2. Just stop it with Ryan Taylor man. We kept faith. It didn't work. Stop. Now.
  3. Man, England internaitonal Jay Bothrooyd is such a piece of shit.
  4. I would start taking notice of how every time the ball goes to Wright-Phillips on the left flank, they almost score a goal. I would start now.
  5. Wright Phillips doing a wonderful job of reminding Pardew that Ryan Taylor isn't a left-back so far.
  6. I hate Man United. If you haven't lived in East Asia you don't know what hating Man United is like. It's like the McDonalds of football clubs. Liverpool for the obvious reasons. I think I'd hate Chelsea if Didier Drogba wasn't such a thoroughly likable human being.
  7. This doesn't work because there is no absolute certainty about Raylor costing us a game - or even killing us It's not impossible to survive a game of Russian Roulette either. Depends upon the variation of the rules in use? Anyway, it's a silly metaphor for this. Know what you're trying to do, but he's nowhere near as much a liability as you're implying. He is man. He's a fucking calamity waiting to happen at right back, never mind left back. Just look back to the relegation season. He managed to go 4 matches without dropping a clanger and scored a couple goals on the way, credit to him, but the sooner this state of affairs is over the better.

  9. Just because you played Russian Roulette 3 times and didn't die doesn't mean it's a good idea to try it again.

    Sunderland...

Wow, I was out on the piss last night and didn't notice that Gyan had gone and Ji had scored
  11. Surprisingly well-written compared to the steaming pile of crap they usually come out with. Decent PR exercise.

    Sunderland...

There's a Japanese company in Sunderland? Thanks, I finally have a real reason to hate the city now
  13. I doubt we'd ever take the chance to bring him back even for something like 10 mil. Mike Ashley seems like the kind of person who holds grudges.
  14. Not an excuse, just an expectation. Obviously it would be easier for us to sign players in the Championship given that it would be the equivalent of Man United trying to sign players in the Premiership. Fees we ended up paying were pretty minimal as well. If you look at what our January business in the Premiership has been for the past few years, you'll get a general idea of what to expect from January. The answer is nothing or something pretty close to nothing.
  15. Anyway, the point being that the usual thing to expect from a January window is absolute fuck all. That would be true even if our owner wasn't tight as fuck.
  16. Which was eight years ago and arguably our only successful January business since. There was Nolan, but most of us were livid that we had signed him at the time. And Williamson/Routledge I guess.
  17. I honestly can't remember the last time we made a January signing I was happy with. (And that includes pre-Ashley) It's a terrible time to be on the market, and if we can't even get deals done in the summer, it's fairly obvious how we'll react to the rampant price-gouging in January.
  18. He'll either be leaving in the summer or seeing out his contract and then leaving. There is no way in hell we will offer him another contract on his current wages. Same goes for Jonas I suppose, although I imagine his wages aren't quite as high.

    Alan Pardew

It's still completely inexplicable to me why the felt that it was a good idea to come out with the whole "it'll be reinvested" shit. Did they just assume we'd forget in six months time? For a lot of fans it was the only thing that justified his sale. It also bought them 6 months breathing space. What's the difference between people being pissed off then and a lot more people being pissed off now? It's not as if they needed to lie to avert mass riots or anything.

  21. To rephrase, what I'm trying to say is that I don't disagree with his general philosophy. Cutting costs, looking to turn a profit, not just spending just for the sake of it. What makes him such an odious owner for me is two things: his employment of an arrogant douchebag as face of the club, the completely inexplicable footballing decisions he makes, and the classless and inconsiderate moves like the whole sports direct signs fiasco. Mike Ashley executed properly would be an okay owner for a mid-table club like us to have.

I think its the Maiga one myself, they thought Sochaux would buckle at the end of window and they didn't, left us nowhere to go. Gameiro + Gervinho + Erdinc + Maiga = total epic fucking fail

It's actually even worse than that. It's clear that they know that there is a problem and people will be unhappy. And they think that a statement like this will actually make people feel better
