Think he might have a blinder as he'll feel he has something to prove.

Interesting. It was previously said that we were going to sign Pieters regardless of whether Enrique left or not, so I suppose it's possible that we're after two left backs. The way things have been going for us this summer though, I fully expect the thread title to be changed to "Lyon reject 'derisory' bid from NUFC for Aly Cissokho" or "Aly Cissokho reiterates desire to stay at Lyon and fight for place" by the next time I check.

Did you miss the part where they acquired Adebayor? They actually got him?
-
Kevin Nolan - 5m Yohan Cabaye - 5m Jose Enrique - 6m Erik Pieters - 6m So no worries lads, we'll be buying a 35m striker soon enough.
-
It's mild consolation that Spurs can't seem to buy a new striker either.
-
I don't remember when the last time I had absolutely no fucking idea what the matchday squad would be was.
-
If we play 3-5-2 we'll lose 35-2
-
Yep. Agree. Would have been difficult to do this organically given his captaincy, strong personality and standing in the squad. Might be less of a fuss all around to just go ahead and sell him.
-
I think I'll go make some kind of bold statement, now that Neil won't have space to keep track of it.
-
Ameobi and Lovenkrands would without a doubt "get games" at all of those clubs over the course of the season. If fourth choice doesn't qualify as "getting games," then Lovenkrands isn't "getting games" for us either.
-
Villa, Blackburn, Bolton, Fulham, Norwich, QPR, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, West Brom, Wigan, and Wolves.
-
Have now placed him in the little mental block in my head I reserve for players who rarely actually play for us so it's better for me to just assume they don't exist until they do. Previously occupied by messirs Owen and Viduka.
-
I fully respect the club's decision to take their time on buying a striker instead of plunking 10m on Jermaine Defoe or something, given that all of our initial targets have told us to fuck off. The left back situation is less commendable.

Leave it to Liverpool to even hire a doctor who looks like a cunt
-
At the end of the day, if a 'top 5' team wants one of our players they're gone. One way or another it will happen. It has always been like that and will always be like that for the "other" premiership clubs. The only thing that's changed for us recently is that we have actual good players to sell. Takes some getting used to.
-
Can't wait to wave goodbye to Tiote, Colo etc in the next couple of years then. Woohoo. That's probably true, but the club will still be here. Last time I checked, the club is what we support.
-
On second thought, would take the Premier League postponing all of the opening matches just so we could.. you know, play with an actual left back.
-
Smith Shola. It's the only way you ensure you'll never have to change your name again.
-
I'd take him. Well, to be honest, at this point I'd take just about anybody. Retail therapy is the best way out of depression.
-
A bit too far imo. Liverpool will always be more "ambitious" than us even if we were somehow spending the same amount of money and you and I both know he'll be in the next Spanish squad.
-
I console myself with the dream that once Ashley hits the magic 100m mark, he's going to sell.
-
Post of the fucking year man, I didn't actually realize what I hated so much about those type of posts until I read that.
-
Not for Arsenal, I think it's safe to say at this point.
-
Yeah, think he should put in a transfer request now. Wouldn't begrudge him in the slightest. In fact, I think they should all go, and Pardew and his team as well, should never have come to us as we're totally s***. In fact, I think we should get rid of the club, total embarrassment to the city, wouldn't begrudge the demolition men in the slightest (though to be honest we're probably not good enough for them, they probably think we're small fry with our lop sided mess). In fact, f*** Newcastle full stop. If we can't persuade a left back to stay in the city rather than go to traditional giants like Liverpool waving wedge in his face and an unarguably greater chance of National recognition whether they're in Europe or not, we should just give up, burn it to the ground, and move to Wearside.
