  1. I can't even begin to fathom who England could play in central midfield to partner Nolan and do all the dirty work for him like Tiote does for us.
  2. Sad thing was they were actually a very likable, interesting team before the Arabs came in. Looked a very young, dynamic team with Richards, Onohua, Ireland, Johnson and the like.
  3. Watching the South Korea v. North Korea Asian Games group stage match on my iPhone at work. Technology is wonderful
  4. He's getting a nice, authoritative "Mourinho" vibe about him with that suit
  5. Routledge on for Barton, Saylor on for Simpson, Sol on for Willo are the only changes I'd feel comfortable making, if any
  6. In the current English public consciousness, Kevin Nolan = Wayne Rooney ...
  7. In the end it looks like he left at the right time to clear the way for a new era of competition between two very exciting young goalkeepers. Just like relegation, Given fucking off was something that hurt like hell when it happened but doesn't really bother me anymore.
  8. Don't worry, he'll be back if/when Blackburn and/or Fulham beat us.
  9. Sadly, the fact that we're fourth at the moment means very little because there's a metric fuckton of teams concentrated right about where we are. It's a nice symbolic position to be in though.
  10. Nailed on loss and "what happened at Newcastle wasn't my fault" speech from Fat Sam.
  11. Should be singled out for arguably being the best player in an outstanding defensive line today. I didn't think it was possible but he's raised his game to the Premiership.
  12. What a game. One genuine super save coupled with Unbelievable! aerial ability and control of his area. The first time I've been genuinely impressed with him this season.q
  13. The Korean commentators are normally completely clueless (still think Ben Arfa's first name is Ben and last name is Arfa ) but they made two very good points today. One, we have absolutely no fear of giving Arsenal corners or free kicks that are reasonably far from the box because we know that their midgets have no chance whatsoever of winning a header against us. We've become staggeringly good at defending against set pieces: Carroll, Williamson, and even Colo are winning everything in the air. Two, with Carroll's goal today we are now the leading scorer from set pieces in the entire Premier League. Carroll's obviously a monster in the box, and we've got enough big bodies alongside him (Willo, Shola, Colo) to completely saturate the opposing defence. Couple that with Barton's delivery and Nolan digging for second balls and we must be utterly terrifying to defend against from corners. After our loss to Stoke I mentioned that we needed to figure out what our strength was and play in a way that maximized it, and obviously Hughton has figured it out. When we were relegated we were one of the smallest, softest, teams in the league. But slowly we've assembled a squad full of big monsters that will give any team a hard time. So Howay Newcastle, the... new Stoke City? :colo:
  14. :fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap::fwap: I have more good memories from this season than the rest of my time supporting this club combined. Life contract for Hughton.
  15. Arsenal resorting to long ball against Newcastle, who would've thought
  16. Jesus I can barely watch this. We're going to concede to the white Ameobi, nailed on.
  17. Thank you Fabianski Thank you Mr. Wenger for refusing to buy a keeper.
  18. shocking, shocking challenge from Clichy. Perhaps Wenger has decided that he'd like to get in on the leg-breaking?
  19. Your ability to pick an argument out of thin air never ceases to amaze me.
  20. I see both Ki and Cha started in a 9-0 Celtic win today. Good day for the Koreans all around.
