He's the exact opposite of a "luxury" player. He's a player who'll probably get you around the same amount of goals regardless of the kind of service he's getting because he's capable of making himself chances out of nothing, but not capable of putting it away when he's given stuff on a plate. The lad is utterly and completely random. Randomness is not something you need in a relegation scrap.

surely Southgate is sacked now?
-
Harper Beye Taylor Bassong Enrique Duff Nolan Guthrie Guttierez Own Any one of our many s*** tall strikers Never did I think I'd voluntary suggest Steven Taylor at CB again. But oh well.
-
He played Malouda onside The amount of times he screws up the defensive lime is staggering for a defender of his supposed "intelligence"
-
Wish Shearer could beat the shit out of some of these players in the changing room.
-
Coloccini this is getting beyond a joke now. At least Harper seems to be back up to match fitness
-
He's either lost interest in our club and can't be bothered anymore, or he's suffering from a deadly case of "not-the-same-player-he-used-to-be-itis" that seems to go around these parts. Either way, he's lost form at the absolute worst fucking time possible.
-
And he's the only striker we have with any actual pace. He's actually not even that fast anymore.
-
right down to us and the mackems then. At least it'll be interesting.
-
A bit of an overreaction, but his play since coming back from injury has certainly been Ali Dia-esque
-
You're not the only one. Can't for the life of me understand the resistance to it. The next time some caveman starts bleating at me about how "bad calls are part of the game," I'm going to beat them over the head with a 20-pound tuna.
-
Because he's knackered and not playing well.
-
And you know the rule, when it's hard to call always give it in favour of the big teams........ They're also inherently biased to play it safe and not give it. 90% of the time it's not actually over the line and you don't want to be caught giving a "phantom goal"
-
that's fine, it's impossible to call those goal-line clearances properly.
-
ah why the fuck are Blackburn and Stoke both winning
-
This statement never goes well on these forums, but Oba's been fucking shocking since coming back from the hernia op.
-
Guthrie on, that's the first time I've seen us make a good sub in yonks.
-
Chelsea putting the kids on now I see
-
No, the excuse for the defending is missing our best centreback.
-
I realize this makes me a bad fan, but I'm turning it off. Colo AGAIN btw
-
Jonas in shot on goal shocker
-
jesus calm down man. we're playing chelsea ffs, plus we're a bottom 3 club atm Understandable if it were a one off but he's consistantly s*** Wouldn't go as far as "should never play for the club again," but he should have been dropped after Arsenal. Probably would have been if Seb was fit.
-
it's fine, anything we got from this game was a bonus anyway. I'm not going to lose my mind like I did the last couple of matchdays.
-
oh well. Same old at home v. top 4 story I guess.
-
not bad. Good pressure, good effort, you can obviously see the confidence. Great to see Owen trying again, and Butt a bit reinvigorated. Still getting owned because they're just so much better than we are, particularly in the final third because our strikeforce has nothing whatsoever against the quality of their backline, but we could still nick 0-0 if we don't drop a shit. And I'd just like to know what the fuck is wrong with Ryan Taylor and his set pieces.
