  1. Wins for Portsmouth and Stoke, looks like we'll be rooted pretty deeply in the bottom three within a couple of weeks. Truly looking grim now.
  2. what the FUCK is up with the benching of Jonas. Jonas in for Duff and that's a decent team.
  3. The latest in a long line of black and white scapegoats, that's what Coloccini is.
  4. Think Kadar would have stepped up as backup leftback already if he hadn't broken his leg.
  5. It is my sincere belief that a 3-year contract for Joe Kinnear would be more damaging for this club than relegation (and in any case, will most likely be accompanied by relegation next year as an immediate result). If you want to chalk that off as me being foreign, fine, whatever suits your xenophobic worldview. But that's my opinion and I stand by it. is actually a fairly accurate assessment of the situation.

    Stephen Carr

It's about his level though isn't it, anyways, f*ck the baldy little prick! Based on his performances when he was up here he wasn't fit to play professional football at all, never mind at the Championship level. So fair play to him if he's gotten his fitness up since then.
  7. I see a lot of people just don't understand what this thread is about. Nevertheless, I stand by my position. Given a hypothetical choice, I would rather be relegated with the promise of having a new manager than stay up and keep Kinnear for three years.

    Peter Beardsley

Here's an interesting theory someone put to me by the way. How would you react if the board decided to install Beardsley as temporary manager?
  9. These are called "hypothetical questions"

    Peter Beardsley

The choice of Kinnear gets criticised a lot, but there were particular circumstances. Keegan had walked, Ashley had decided to sell up in order to appease the fans, and we needed someone who was prepared to step into what seemed a very temporary position. There weren't going to be too many willing candidates. It boils down to who you consider to be at fault for bringing about that desperate situation in the first place. But that's another debate. Appointing Kinnear as temporary manager was understandable, perhaps even wise. Keeping him on after deciding not to sell was questionable. Offering him a long-term contract despite the fact that he's almost dropped dead is inexcusable idiocy.
  11. What gives you the belief that he'll be sacked if he preforms poorly? Surely not the fact that he's taken us closer to relegation than Roeder or Souness ever did, nearly dropped dead, and yet is still getting a three year contract?
  12. Keeping Kinnear is certain relegation within the term of his contract. There's no point avoiding relegation this season if it's coming anyway next year.
  13. If Ashley had any intention of sacking him any time soon, he wouldn't be offering him 3 years regardless of our Premiership status in the first place. Job probably wouldn't be in danger unless we dropped to League one.
  14. Simple hypothetical question. If a supreme being offered you a choice between relegation and sacking Kinnear and staying up and keeping him, how would you choose? Not even a dilemma for me, I'd take relegation any day. In the Championship with a new manager, there's at least a chance that we'll rebuild strongly and come straight back up. Going from a Championship club to mid-table Premiership again isn't easy, but the gap is far from insurmountable. However, even if we were to stay up, we are guaranteed relegation within the next 2~3 season with the worst manager in England's top two divisions at the helm. There is simply no hope under Joe Kinnear. I realize that it's kind of pointless asking this when in all likelihood, we're probably getting both

    Players in public

they all do it though. How is Xisco getting pissed with a couple of immigrant puffs worse than Shay drinking too much wine in Sabatini's Shay was in the side every week, without a glimmer of debate. Xisco can't get near it. All i'm doing is multiplying the factor. The two things very well could be related; he's getting pissed up every week by the looks of it given his Facebook updates. Maybe he should give it a rest and dedicate his time to getting himself in the side. Or conversely, he may be getting pissed every weekend because he knows he doesn't have to worry about ever getting selected.
  16. There's a perfectly reasonable answer. The players who will be here regardless of whether we stay up or not have signed their contracts.
  17. Only if all the managers in the top three divisions of every single league in Europe turn the job down.
  18. I've been to stadia in a 4 countries where alcohol is served and I've honestly never had any problems. There are very few people with enough money + low enough tolerance to get seriously inebriated with $10 a pint beer, and stewards drag away anyone who does end up visibly drunk. I just appreciate not having to run over to a bar before the match and being able to sip a beer while I actually watch. You don't know how convenient it is until you've actually done it I suppose.
  19. I don't think I'd ever be able to watch or play football again if I had seen this happen. Really scary stuff.
  20. That's obvious for everyone - except for the people actually in charge.
  21. There's another player I'd take over any of ours in the same position.
  22. I'm sure Villa will be back to their A-game just in time to send us down in May.
  23. Please yes. England's the only country I've been to so far where you can't drink in the stands. It's a damn injustice that's what it is.
  24. Jenas may be shit and a cunt, but he's miles better than any of our CMs. I'd gladly trade any of Barton, Guthrie, or Nolan for him.
