  1. he tripped over his own feet, ankle was at an odd angle when he fell. Don't think it was a dive.
  2. Given's kicking tends to go in Ameobi's general direction most of the time. Surprising.
  3. playing decently well. I get scared shitless whenever Carew picks up the ball though. He doesn't even have to be in the box, it's still frightening as shit.
  4. The more I think about it, our offense actually isn't that bad. Duff-Ameobi-Martins-Jonas fed balls by Barton and Owen coming off the bench. As long as Taylor doesn't have another shocker we should be in with a chance.
  5. No way we'll keep a clean sheet so we'll just have to go win 3-2. (I've decided to just ignore reality untill kickoff)
  6. Actually wouldn't mind him here, considering what the likely alternatives are.
  7. We'll be chanting "thank you so much for 12 million quid" after he has a mare.
  8. Have to admit that Xisco has looked utterly shit so far, but he's still quite young and it's hard for me to write him off given how devastated the Deportivo fans were at his departure.
  9. Alright I'm switching to positive mode. Owen is back, him and Martins or him and Ameobi, either way, there's got to be goals in that combination. Jonas will have a f***ing amazing game and will be appearing regularly in Luke Young's nightmares for weeks. It's at home and the fans will be behind the lads 1000% It's either win and go to mid-table or lose and sit at bottom. The players know what's at stake, and the likes of Given, Ameobi, Taylor, Martins, Beye, and Barton, who all have genuine affection for this club, will surely be giving it their all. We'll smash them and f*** up their Champions League hopes. They'll be a little roadbump on our way to Europe. Howay the lads.
  10. I'm praying that we get something from this. I really am. Hard not to be pessimistic given the state of things though.
  11. I think we're entitled to a little bitching when every single team under us has won, we're down to bottom of the league, and we're going into a game which we have little to no chance of winning.
  12. I would pay money for 17th now. Getting fucking unbearable.
  13. Holy fucking shit. 20th. Jesus christ.
  14. That is complete nonsense. I'll watch the Rugby WC for blind physicality. When I tune in to the premiership I expect to see football. I'm sorry but Stoke are a wretched blot on the beautiful game. Honestly, this lot make me miss Reading, Birmingham, Zaragoza, Parma, Metz, and Lens. I hope these fools go straight back down to the Coke league, and then go into administration and follow Gretna's path into oblivion. I mean at least Bolton brought the likes of Djorkaeff, Okocha, and Anelka to the Premier League. These cavemen have brought nothing except Rory "long throw" Delap. I mean f*** off. They contribute nothing to the league at all. Teams like Wigan, Hull, etc, make themselves hard to play agianst, but they still play the sport called "football". I just like to have teams that are different from the others. We've got plenty of teams that play "the beautiful game," what's the harm in having one that does it a bit differently? Would certainly rather have them in the top flight over the likes of Bolton, Fulham (although I like Craven Cottage,) or Wigan.
  15. I find Stoke fun to watch in a twisted way. There's something to be said for gritty, no-nonsense "beat the s*** out of them" football armed with 40-yard long throws. Makes me wish we still had the Gooch. Premiership needs more teams with character like that. I'd be rooting for them to stay up if it didn't probably mean that we would go down.
  16. oh fuck. I'm going to be shitting my pants if we get battered on monday as expected.
  17. Holy fucking shit. Who abducted Kuyt and replaced him with that class imposter?

    No Jobs for Sam

Think he's destined to go back to Bolton eventually. I think he's effective in the right situation, just not a good fit for us.
  19. Stoke, WBA, Wigan all getting results. This is catastrophic for us.
  20. s***, Stoke aren't going down either, are they?
  21. Arsenal imploding spectacularly

    Martins

It's as cliche'd as heck, but he really does need a team to play a particular style of football to be truly threatening. Just look at how he was during our run last season under Keegan. Every time he got the ball near the box, you could see the opposing defenders shitting themselves.
