What a class 20 minutes today. Absolutely just could not have the ball taken away from him. We'll be a different team when he's playing full time. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.

I feel that by end of season, we'll be worried that bigger clubs will be sniffing around for him rather than worried that he won't live up to expectations.

He had a very stop-start season last year, he never really going until the last few games. If he can be fit and keep himself out of trouble, I think we'll see a completely different Barton from last year. Certainly hope this is true. I really want him to succeed, as by all accounts he's a top bloke who just has a severe temper problem. I don't condone anything he's done, but it would be nice to see a high-profile individual overcome their mental issues rather than succumb to them for once.

Always wondered why Barton could never score for us when he got so many for City.

Hate to say it, but Duff is pretty much undroppable at this point. Especially not for Charles "runs to nowhere" N'Zogbia.

Hopefully he goes off on another one of his completely random goal every two games runs and keeps us up. Still has no long term future here.

As I've mentioned in the match thread, I still can't figure out what Jo is supposed to be good at.

I'd criticize the decision to put him on more than I would his performance. I mean really, 2-1 with 10 minutes to go and you put on a kid just getting back from long-term injury? Is he really better than our new 6m striker? ffs, could have even just put on another defender to close the game down even.

he's done realy well if you ask me. Even aside from the goal, doing some good work roughing up City's defense and creating some space. Of course, he still doesn't know how to play football.

The way our crazy world works, he'll probably get a hat trick.

Time to come out in the second half with ten-men behind the ball playing for a draw with some old-fashioned Big Sam style tactics. Really have to stand up and applaud the lads for how they've done so far under very averse conditions. Kinnear seems to have gotten some steel in them.

You can hardly complain about the performance. How long has it been since we've seen Ameobi splitting the defense with a killer pass and Duff getting a shot on goal?

We're making a fight of it at least. Hopefully if nothing else this game will establish a siege mentality and make the players come together as a team.

At least the lads are putting some fight into it. Duff may be mediocre most of the time, but nobody in the side works harder.
