  1. There is no point to the existence of this team. The end. Turn off the forum.
  2. You know those feelings you're feeling right now? "Team is going nowhere," "what's the point," "can't get excited for games." Players are probably feeling the exact same thing. No surprise that this game (and probably every game for the rest of the season) will have us playing with the passion of a wet squib.
  3. Do you read these boards? He means the media, papers not just us. As you well know herbert. The national media don't really put pressure on managers aside from those at the top clubs. They don't really care.
  4. I'm convinced that Cisse is deliberately fucking things up to spite us for not selling him. That's far more believable than him actually being this bad.
  5. In some ways Man United fans piss me off even more now than when they were successful. They've been the most successful club in England for over two decades and they've just hit a short dip this year. They're still the biggest name in English football and will land on their feet soon enough. Their entire squad could drop dead on the pitch and they'd still be better than us in three years time. What right do Man United fans have to play the vicitm? Got a text message from a friend today after the Fulham game written "watching football will give me cancer." Well, what do you think I've got then.
  6. At least they can sack their manager and buy players to fix their problems.
  7. Our delivery is more of a problem at the moment. All we do is just plop it in the middle with no pace or variation whatsoever. This has consistently been the case for nearly a decade now so I don't expect it to change any time soon
  8. He's here forever so the best course of action is to just not expend any energy hating him. You don't bother hating the snowstorm that cancels your flight or the hurricane that breaks your windows. No point hating Alan Pardew.
  9. The punishment is harsh, as said, give her a slap on the wrist, but she's clearly taken a liberty. I'd be surprised if the kids paid for their tickets. If her son couldn't afford a ticket himself, they could do what other families do when they can't afford to go to a match. Not go. It probably would've been simple as contacting the club and offering to make up the difference between the disabled price and the full price for a single match. The punishment is harsh I agree but it's pretty clear that the woman is in the wrong here.
  10. I suspect the NFL (and all American sports leagues) would have strict rules concerning accommodating the press for all of their clubs. If the Dolphins tried to ban hostile local press the commissioner would come down on them hard. Probably very true. Why don't the PL do the same, it's in their best interests really. Because the PL has very little actual control over the clubs relative to American sports. For most American leagues the commissioner is essentially an unchecked dictator who can do whatever he wants. In the PL the owners have far more power than whoever runs the thing does.

  12. Agreed, we could be looking at a Leeds-esque farce when Ashley sells and he sells it to a literal criminal. Most likely be picked up by some rich Chinese dude or corporation. Sweet, I'm really looking forward to playing in red because that's some lucky colour over in Asia or some stupid s****. Yes, cos thats what would definitley happen if some Chinese investors took over. IF. Red and gold stripes
  13. Basically hard luck, sure there's fans all around the world who follow us madly and would love to save up for a trip to Wembley but just have to accept unless you know people who might get you a ticket, you're unfortunately just going to have to watch on the TV. I know it sounds harsh but i think it's still the fairest way. Would have just as much sympathy for those who actually live in the area but can't afford to attend. you can't reduce support to any kind of value judgement though. I was going to games when I was 5, some people might have started later than me? that make me a better fan? I was at Villa away relegation season, I've followed us for 20plus years. This mentality of ST stuff is totally wrong imo. Nothing makes you a better fan, its an abstract concept. I'm not sure who said better fan I think the points system works well and is fair. If you've gained the points, in theory you'll get your ticket. If you've just been buying on the day or get away tickets through a friend or whatever, you're running the risk of losing out on a ticket. If you give up your ST and just pick and choose which matches you attend, once again you'll be running the risk of missing out. If you've gave up your ST because you are fed up and said you'll never return under this regime and watch us again, then you want a cup final ticket, you don't deserve one imo. If you stick by your word and miss it, respect to them, if you try and grab one, it's fickle and glory hunting I don't want to give Mike Ashley more of my money, and his regime for running the club is a joke. This means I will sacrifice home games (except for mates offering their tickets) and continue to attend some away games. How does that make me fickle and a glory hunter if I wanted a cup final ticket? I've spent thousands throughout my life on NUFC, majority of it away from home including around Europe. I supported us in the Championship, so the term glory hunter couldn't be any further away from the truth IMO. I wouldn't bother mate, it's like chasing the village idiot around the may pole, it just wears you out. If we're in a cup final () and you really, really want to go there's always the capitalist option of throwing money at it. I for one would certainly be willing to invest several thousand pounds into a ticket off ebay or something assuming I had the disposable income at the time. As far as distributing the supporters allocation goes, I think the points system is pretty fair despite the fact that it disadvantages me.
  14. Somehow I think he'd be perfect for us. Would never work under Jabba though. Would he? Might as well reappoint KK if the goal is to get someone who won't be in the job for more than three months
  15. Nobody is safe! Except for one person
  16. Now that you've jinxed it, he'll be our manager by the end of next season.
  17. Hallelujah. Independent of everything else that's wrong with the club, this is reason for celebration.
  18. oldtype's B team v. Mike's B team going on right now. Mike winning 1-0
  19. The club at the moment just feels like a husk to me and has been for a couple years now. Still enjoy watching the matches themselves, but I'm beyond caring about the long run. I was devastated back when we sold Carroll but I find it really hard to care about anything that happened in this window at all. What's the point of having Cabaye when we're not going to use him for anything useful. Buy players, sell players, whatever, we'll still be mediocre.
  20. We should also figure out some way to buy players that aren't French.
