It's pretty clear to me that they want to progress. And despite the 12 months, we were only a few points from Europe...and it took Man City going on holiday one match too soon for us to miss out. Have they made mistakes? Yes? Have they inherited an absolutely diseased club? Yes. Have they imnproved us in their time here? Yes. It's only decent to give them a chance to learn from this.

Well said, buddy. Adults allow others some leeway when it comes to mistakes. As long as they have learned from this summer, I am more than happy to give them a chance to continue to improve us.

It's been a real shit summer, but I hope that most on here give them a chance to right everything. They at least deserve that after nearly 3 years of getting us back on our feet.

Not exactly enough windows to suggest an ironclad pattern though. And it was still something 25% for the immediate squad last summer, and one who was immediately loaned out back to Europe. We've lately shown a preference for PL experience, but given last summer, it hasn't been exclusive. We also brought in someone from the European leagues for our youth set up, so we obviously have a scouting network for Europe. It's these incomplete assumptions that I find disappointing.

May also be related to position. You don't know that something has dramatically changed. As of last summer, we know for a fact that we were willing ot buy a player with no PL experience. Don't confuse speculation with fact, man. We've seen way too much of that on here for awhile.

Totally. Apart from getting Botman, Isak, Tonali, and Bruno... Unless something has dramatically changed, which I highly doubt considering that Mitchell is our DoF, then I assume that we still look on the continent. There may be an emphasis on PL experience, but I won't be surprised if a quarter of our transfers are still from the European leagues.

A few very loud posters always make it seem like way more than it is. I don’t fully agree with you on everything, but you haven’t been unreasonable either. I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all to be irritated and disappointed with no incomings to strengthen the squad. I do however think four or five posters have been utterly ridiculous nearly every single time they have chimed in here in the football section.

It's back to there being a lot of wild speculation about being able to hold onto them goin back to before last January. Hypotheticals aren't doing anyone much good at this point imo.
