  1. Shearer before the injuries was a force of nature. The best English striker I've seen.
  2. And we could easily have been unbeaten all season. We've played a few games since the World Cup, and the atmosphere on here is already resembling early October again
  3. Interesting that his defensive record was what a fair few complained about at first. We are so far ahead of what I expected that it’s just ridiculous. But there is a good opportunity this window to accelerate the process even more.
  4. Usually the ideal first step in reorganization is making yourselves nearly impossible to beat. We have succeeded more than just admirably in this first phase, with one loss in 20 games.
  5. We concede a goal every two games from a coach who allegedly couldn’t organize a defense before us. Howe’s tactics are not the problem.
  6. Howe seems to like to stick to his policy of easing players in. I am sure he is doing the same with Isaak. It’s worked pretty well so far. This is exactly the same as right before our purple patch. The real issue is we need more creativity in the side to break down teams who don’t want to play. We don’t have that yet, but we are way ahead of schedule.
  7. Think a few of us were concerned that he was definitely the right manager, but maybe at the wrong time. HTT mentioned this quite a bit.
  8. So criminally underpriced. I really don't get it.
  9. Fucking Blackpool. The Last of Us producers could have saved a truckload by just filming there.
  10. You’re lucky he’s 18, sir.
  11. yeah. We should all know better. Probably started a s throwaway comment, and then he saw an opportunity.
  12. It was the early 2000's, dude. You do understand inflation and how it is even more prominent in football, right?
  13. Luque, for one. Have to take into consideration the injury, but 9.5m for him back then turned out to be outrageous. Michael Owen was nearly a total bust, given how much we paid for him at the time. Xisco...given how much fees have ballooned, we probably would have spiunked nearly the same on this waste of space. Marcelino was dog shit for us. Riviere. I barely remember the dude. Guivarch was legendarily bad. Amazing that he was a world cup winner.
  14. If they were being truly honest, however, they would have mentioned how the whole forum reacted, instead of adding the taking seriously part.
  15. Some serious revisionist history with some. It wasn’t one clanger. It was a couple of months of constant dog shit, and was eerily similar to the 17/18 season when Rafa went through a tough patch, with a very similar poster profile. It was beyond absurd, and the perpetrators made this forum a real chore. For those who have since held their hands up, of course it’s no big deal. For those who continue with a perpetual stream of knee jerk reactions, well, that’s another thing. I’m just seems that A few on here get off on wearing pessimism like some weird badge of honor, and then love to victimize themselves with the straw men who are trying to silence their brave opinions. “I was laughed at when…”
  16. No fault of yours for posting absolutely bizarre shit. It's all on us. You described pretty much the anti-particle of Harry Kane.
  17. Haaland would disrupt our style. We can do better.
  18. The grammar is decent apart from one run-on sentence. That's about all I can say.
  19. Keegan was one of my heroes when I was a kid. Had a training video with Keegan in it in the early 80's.
