I think he was brilliant against Arsenal for example.

No, he went back to Köln because he loves the city, the club and the fans. No chance imo

Just put 50 € on a Man Utd/Real Madrid double, which will win me around 100€. Another 50 € on a Man Utd/Inter Milan double, which with a bit of luck will win me over 250€.

The worst day as yet.

Is selling your very best striker on deadline day without a replacement not a risk? Not really when you're comfortable, 9 places above the relegation zone. I'd have driven Carroll to Merseyside myself for £35 Million! That's a blinding piece of business! We can supplement our squad no end with that money! 9 points is nothing with half the season still to go. I know that 35 million is very very good business - the thing was just that we did not sign a replacement. Our squad was too small before the selling - we would have needed a few players in January instead we've sold one of our best. That is taking a risk.

This! Some tend to forget to ask themselves: What would have happened if MA did not buy the club? As Toon's T. mentions, its' likely that we without MA still would have suffered relegation. That would have destroyed us since we wouldn't have had access to MA's money to keep us afloat. As much as I hated Big Sam here - we had not been relegated as long as he would have been in charge.

“However, 90%, of a goalkeeper’s work is about being in the right positions, cutting out balls, kicking consistently."

The game hasn't even kicked off, man.

Or a replay...

Hollidays?
-
You're wrong here - it's called 'midfielder'
-
Sadly I don't have anything in my betting account - it's time to bet on Arsenal I suppose.
-
7 defenders? 1 midfielder?
-
Isn't that always the case with certain players? I mean, look at Inter (last year) for example - Sneijder could do what he wants behind the striker because he had defensive midfielders covering him. Also, the thing is that we looked very good with Barton on the right, though. And the thing is that Barton didn't even look that good through the centre after having played at RW.

I think that will be a probable outcome if Guthrie is sold this summer, which is likely It won't be the probable outcome. It isn't that Nolan will just wait for a number to get available. He's been nr 4 for as long as I can remember and he'll keep that number.

Yeah... or just leave it as it is.

Barton and Jonas wont fit in that formation as wide men, I can see Barton playing as one of the '2' only with alot more creative freedom. It also depends on the dynamics of the game but the wide men play as midfiled-cum-strikers when we are holding possession always looking to make runs in the channels between the full back and CD, as well as linking up with the lone striker, should realisitically be lookking t get 8-10 goals a season in that role. Jonas is too conventional a winger to be applied to that role, isnt a great finisher wich is a big problem. Harper Simpson Colo Willo Enrique Barton Tiote RW Ireland Ben Arfa CF Is close to perfect. Put Ireland on the right wing and Nolan into Ireland's position and I can see it actually happening.

Good interview. Sounds a bit like Dr. House in that sometimes. Poor lad, could still be our first choice LB somehow.
-
Er, what about Barton, btw?
-
We do miss him, though. If you mean we would be better off if he was fit, I agree. But he was injured when we brought him in, seems mental to me to complain he isn't fit now. Yeah, that's what I meant.
