Fundamentally disagree. Reminds me of Labour and Starmer calmly playing by the rules while the Tories p*ss all over every established convention there is. The PL won't respond to politeness or anything of the kind, they'll respond to something that's going to hurt their bottom line and nothing else. Bit like Mike in that regard actually. If you think otherwise I'm sorry but you're f***ing deluded. And how would you so that with abuse and spam? It’s not about being polite - it’s about undertaking coordinated targeted and meaningful action rather than spamming twitter and doing nothing but making noise in your own bubble. I'm not suggesting I have the answers tbh, I'm saying I disagree with the idea that playing by the rules with people like Ashley and the PL won't work. That's all. Ashley gave a s*** (to an extent) when people started jacking their tickets in. The PL need targeting accordingly somehow, something that hurts them. Writing letters won't do a f***ing thing, sorry like but it won't. Sort of agree and disagree with both here. The NUST can’t be seen to be condoning that sort of thing but the spam and attacks on everything the Premier League post isn’t going to make it easy for them to sweep things under the carpet. It’s going to take a lot of effort from all sorts of angles, professional and otherwise, for us to get answers. Totally, wouldn't expect them to endorse it but nor do I expect the PL to react positively to letters etc. Hope to be proven wrong as always mind.

I believe Prince Andrew like to take an interest in u18 Don't know why we didn't think of it sooner. Would have been sorted, no sweat.

Yeah NUST why didn't you just get a member of the Royal Family to help out ffs. Could have all been so different.

Has Caulkin got owt right yet re. this takeover? Caulkin hasn't speculated or revealed anything beyond what the buyer's side was telling him. Dunno why folks can't get their heads around this. His take has been useful, but he's never claimed to have the inside track on the Premier League's gears which, since 9th April, is where the battleground has been - not in the boardroom with representatives between Ashley and Staveley. There's no independent party who can claim to know the precise ins and outs of the PL's process. Still waiting for Wallsendmag to tell us everything he got wrong during this process tbh

I guess probably he is enjoying his vacation in US. Seriously I think he can do nothing here, other than lowering his asking price to cut down PIF involvement, which he won’t. As suggested by someone here, the most viable option now is to cut down PIF involvement so that SA no longer required to be listed as director and subject to test. The key is in fact Reuben has the ability to do it. The question is whether he will do it now and why he didn’t do it at first place. Well, theory was he was desperate for his £300m and if what Staveley says is true he's not to blame this time. You'd think he might have something to say about it.

Nah f*** that, roll the dice with this fake yank imo. If he's no money it'll go tits faster than under Ashley, if he's not totally useless we'll be in a better place. if PIF had never been a thing we would have given him a go I reckon Completely. Yeah it would have been great to be rich but 5 months ago we'd have taken just getting rid of Ashley and I still will. Was never about getting the Saudi's for me, was about getting rid of Ashley. Once you're off life support who knows what happens next?

He's been shown to know very little about the whole episode tbh. No he's been shown to have a line into the buyers, who are sticking to their guns about what happened. Given Ashley is involved and the PL have taken the amount of time they have I know who I believe personally regardless of all this made up bollocks about Staveley being a chancer or whatever. We have years of evidence of what Ashley is like. If he has theyve been filling him with lies because most of what he's came out with these past few months has been well wide of the mark. You've no f***ing idea what you're talking about man. There's nothing to suggest that anything the buying party have said is bullshit. I said from the start it wouldn't go through, Caulkin said it would. He knew f*** all, same as I did. Only difference was my gut feeling was right and his was wrong. Absolutely full of s***. You said he knew "very little" and are changing tack. Jog on. He knew next to nowt. That's why he got so much wrong. If you are struggling to understand that, that's fair enough. Ok I'll bite, what did he/they get wrong other than a confidence they were answering the questions and it would eventually be approved? The only thing they appear to have got wrong to me is that they assumed the pl was working in good faith and that Ashley was a good faith seller.

Hes a two bit chancer c*** who gambles, he has other offers and tried it on with the Saudis for more cash and f***ed the deal up. I think this is it, but it doesn't track the current narrative about him wanting out, nor does it explain why he agreed to drop the price in the first place only to try and raise it. I guess it really suggests he thinks he has another buyer in the wings waiting to pay more tbh. Hard to find another explanation.

Because the American bid 350m which he accepted. The problem is now if the American pull the plug Ashley will have nothing but s***. We're just accepting "the American" is real and has no issue with chucking 50m more than an existing deal that was agreed? If they're that cash rich could be good times ahead
