  1. they won't be, but in leaking the story it's a much better narrative if there's competition from off...we had our fingers burned with garde who was available and had no-one chasing him we can't compete with stoke or villa man
  2. Sounds about right, we probably three those 80 cvs I'm the skip along with the old pictures see I'm inclined to believe that telegraph (?) article the other saying that Ashley will hold his review in may and charnley will be hauled over the coals for this shit...he'll be lucky to stay in a job imo, I certainly don't think he'll be convincing anyone that carver is the man for the job I consider anything coming out of the club absolute horseshit personally
  3. I keep hearing this, same for west ham, but allardyce fucking hates us and is 10 times the manager carver is, and Pulis is also 10 times the manager carver is. Both teams are clearly better than us if only by virtue of the quality of their respective managers, I just can't see where people think we're going to beat them from Tend to agree - with scarce little individual brilliance to bail the side out it's difficult to see Carver avoiding the 11 game losing streak. Maybe if Sissoko and Janmaat are both on form one game we can nick a 1-0 or a 2-1 somewhere against a similarly uninspired side. I'd say we might manage a point with a late equaliser or getting a goal then hanging on for them to equalise late but that'll be the extent of it I imagine, we're certainly not going to beat anyone.
  4. In June, yes. carver is out of the picture and out of contract trumps compo to derbo - I think think is on
  5. is he out of contract? makes it much more likely if he is
  6. It's funny like but as much as things are going on with protests and how much I hate the club now, if this guy walked through the door saying we were going out in every game to hit the other team so hard they can't get back up I'd be excited as fuck
  7. imagine our fans reaction if we appointed someone like him, considering they'll not know who he is

    John Carver

in the event sunderland or someone else manage to be worse than us over the next few games and take the much coveted spot to the championship that you're all prepared for the PR onslaught of 'carver saved us in the end'
  11. was the same the last time we went down
  12. just seen the hull score, fucking hell when Leicester do us on Saturday it's going to squeaky arse time alright
  13. see the thing I don't understand about this argument is that we went down without a fight with Nolan, barton, colo, jonas etc. last time yet when we came back up they were lauded as the backbone of the team that meant we had the fight to get back up now we're headed down again (so to speak) yet this group of players clearly don't have the fight.. football is littered with examples of teams with good players that just go down - are they all lazy, spineless forrin kernts or is there perhaps more to it than that?

    Graham Carr

I came in to post this (more or less) in response to ronaldos latest proclamation that cabella isn't physically up to it...I was wondering how he was ghosting past the Chelsea midfield and defence looking every bit a 15m player in one of the only games under carver where the team played with confidence and movement, for a half Ryan Taylor, Jonas, Gouffran and Sammy Ameobi have had good games against Chelsea over the years. If you think Cabella's physicality isn't a problem I'd suggest you re-familiarize yourself with his general impact on games this season. He's a very fine player technically but he'll never succeed at this level unless the physical issue is addressed. If the team functions it'll be much less of an issue than it is now, but aye why not ideally he could do with bulking up.
  15. Aye Messi is a massive outlier in every single diagram the one with the little bendy arrow pointing to Ronaldo cracked me up
  16. can't believe those graphics posted by triggs have just been roundly ignored like
  17. club can't even pick a fight properly, fucking amateurs man
  18. Denying Messi isn't a world class number ten now huh? Right enough
  19. Yeah, that's how I read things. Ashley just seems to not know a damn thing, and so just decides on someone to run things, and then goes off to torture Sports Direct employees. Could definitely see Charnley trying to be one of the lads and trying to impress pardew and Carver by buying into their bollocks. The way we got rid of those players in January made no sense. He's also probably set things up to give that oaf Craver a chance to get the job, because they're pals. Looks really dodgy IMO. It does smell like there's some truth in this like; Charnley trying to impress by selling as many players as possible to keep the bank balance looking rosy and ensuring more PL money while doing so. Only one flaw in that plan Lee. I suppose we all have the impression that Ashley makes every decision but I guess that's probably not very likely, he's chose a guy to run things for him. Biggest question is why he keep insisting on appointing unqualified fuckwits to run a 300m quid asset?
