see the thing I don't understand about this argument is that we went down without a fight with Nolan, barton, colo, jonas etc. last time yet when we came back up they were lauded as the backbone of the team that meant we had the fight to get back up now we're headed down again (so to speak) yet this group of players clearly don't have the fight.. football is littered with examples of teams with good players that just go down - are they all lazy, spineless forrin kernts or is there perhaps more to it than that?

I came in to post this (more or less) in response to ronaldos latest proclamation that cabella isn't physically up to it...I was wondering how he was ghosting past the Chelsea midfield and defence looking every bit a 15m player in one of the only games under carver where the team played with confidence and movement, for a half Ryan Taylor, Jonas, Gouffran and Sammy Ameobi have had good games against Chelsea over the years. If you think Cabella's physicality isn't a problem I'd suggest you re-familiarize yourself with his general impact on games this season. He's a very fine player technically but he'll never succeed at this level unless the physical issue is addressed. If the team functions it'll be much less of an issue than it is now, but aye why not ideally he could do with bulking up.

He's also probably set things up to give that oaf Craver a chance to get the job, because they're pals. Looks really dodgy IMO. It does smell like there's some truth in this like; Charnley trying to impress by selling as many players as possible to keep the bank balance looking rosy and ensuring more PL money while doing so.
