That would be the sensible thing BUT we know that's not how Mike Ashley operates I don't know he's a decent business man and we'd lose a fuck load if we go down. He'll drop a million now to save 10s of millions that going down would cost. We will see. he's riding this bet to the end man, no way he brings someone else in now
  2. these were the Pardew games where we'd be in the midst of a rut and throw together some ludicrous fucking lineup and they'd play like titans I suspect it isn't going to go as well for carver today
  3. he's going for 8 in a row lads, you've got to have aims and targets ffs

Don't be daft man. He's just out of his depth and nobody is willing to tell him because it costs money. god i'd really love to know what it would cost to pay off carver, stone and woodman - what do you reckon they're on a grand a week, two?

there needs to be an equivalent ashleyout/sackpardew going after sports journalists like - almost all of them are fucking stealing a living
  7. as I said there's nothing wrong with the idea, but as a professional writer knowing what he knows about the club in its present state actually writing it is a different thing entirely

"After cooking his Newcastle team’s dinner, sweeping the St James’ Park corridors, cleaning the bogs and manning the ticket office, John Carver took the reserves down to Derby County, where he had a chat with the man most likely to replace him next season. “[second-Choice Steve] didn’t mention this job, absolutely 100% not, he just asked how I was dealing with it,” said Carver, before getting back to polishing Paul Dummett’s boots."
  9. I think this is probably it, some half-arsed vision of sporting success and advertising for SD which has become twisted into a billboard masquerading as a football club.

if ashleyout have any sense they'll pay for one of their people to sit as near to the dugout as possible in the next home game with some decent quality listening gear, record the entire match and everything carver says, then publish it
  11. unless the man himself comes out and admits that this was his plan from the off i'll not believe that personally, the first few years point to it being f***up central with loads of erratic decision making, it was relegation that sealed our fate as an advertising vehicle imo I honestly think it was the plan from the start, he only has one business model and thats run everything at the bare minimum...Come in, strip the club back and set it up as a self sufficient entity advertising his tatty sports company. I think Sam Allerdayce was binned due to his expensive salary and his management team, they must have looked at it and though it was cheaper to bin the lot when they did, rather than keep him and his cronies on. I also remember a Sam Allaradyce interview and him making plans for new signings...the next minute his is binned. I bet the signings Sam Allardyce was lining were mega expensive and Ashley had enough of him. Once Allardyce was gone they initially flirted with Redknapp, I think Keegan contacted them out of the blue and they thought "great, fans favorite, that'll keep em happy, quids in" . keegan wasn't going to be a mouth piece for Ashley or sports direct, im sure there is a quote or interview where KK says something along the lines of "they just want someone to stand in front of the cameras"... Keegan knew in that preseason things were seriously off, Milner not getting a new contract depiste KK wanting to really keep him. Milner eventually being flogged late in the window and KK not being given the money, only for Xisco and that Gonzales (?) fella to turn up. So again, money in the bank and cheap replacements brought in. I cant remember our net spend but it wasn't that much. Keegan walks, Ashley fumbles about and hires a cheap option of Kinnear. Shay Given is flogged for a fee around 6 million and N'Zogbia moved on. Insufficient replacements come in, Nolan and R Taylor, Kinnear then has serious heart troubles and is replaced on a temp basis by Hughton. By this stage the club is sliding down the league and he hires Shearer for the last 8 games as its panic time. Club gets relegated, Shearer comes up with a plan to get straight back up. Shearer never gets a call back from Ashley, we all presume that the plan was way to expensive for what Ashley wanted. A number of players are sold over the summer to the tune of around 35 mil. Silence form the club all summer, everyone is expecting NUFC to melt to the third division. Hughton gets the job by default/cheap option. Club gets promoted cos Hughton and the players actually care. Since we were promoted, except the season where we finished 5th the paralells with above ring out for me. Players brought in on the cheap, best players sold mid season and club nose dives, manager quits, coach or one of Ashley's lackys gets the gig. All the while rubbish statemes come from the club about this and that, making promises that never appear. Its no coincidence that these things have happened. They come out with "we've learned from our mistake" but do it all again. They are full of it, its no mistake. They run it bare at the bare minimum which is a calculated risk. And in my opinion, I think Carver could still be getting that job. Doesn't explain the correlation between relegation and systematically turning us into an advert for a shop. Everything up to and including relegation were proper fuck ups imo, since then it's been cold, hard business backed up by awful appointments at boardroom and managerial level. Once he twigged he could run the club on a shoestring and coin in the cash from the PL that was that.

  13. I see no issue in thinking privately we could get Klopp if we tried, we probably could, but thinking it and writing an article in a paper to that effect are two different things
  14. if they don't get anything this weekend I think they're gone personally like
  15. not sure anyone cares enough to explode anymore
  16. I keep hearing this, same for west ham, but allardyce f***ing hates us and is 10 times the manager carver is, and Pulis is also 10 times the manager carver is. Both teams are clearly better than us if only by virtue of the quality of their respective managers, I just can't see where people think we're going to beat them from Tend to agree - with scarce little individual brilliance to bail the side out it's difficult to see Carver avoiding the 11 game losing streak. Maybe if Sissoko and Janmaat are both on form one game we can nick a 1-0 or a 2-1 somewhere against a similarly uninspired side. I'd say we might manage a point with a late equaliser or getting a goal then hanging on for them to equalise late but that'll be the extent of it I imagine, we're certainly not going to beat anyone. Ah the old, nick a goal and hang on for dear lives, worked wonders against Swansea! Cisse literally feels like the only person that could save Carver from 11 in a row. We can't score and we can't defend, we have to hope Cisse gets something from nothing like he did so many times for Pardew. I wasn't saying it was a tactic we should use or rely on like On the other hand Pardew has coached the mentality into them for years, I'm not sure they're capable of anything else at this stage.
  17. Not gonna play for us again. HE LOVES DA TOON imo The goons in charge of the Toon don't love him though because he's running his retail value down. Yeah I think he will go maybe in the summer, it's all pretty annoying really. we're fucking stupid enough to sell anyone decent or with potential before a new manager () gets a look at them
  18. he's a scout A scout that has a very big say in a canny few decisions including the next boss tbf That maybe so but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how many says he has when the owner decides not to take that advice as he hasn't on many occasions. Exactly...it stinks of the player 'lists' we all suspect exist...I mean if Carr is that influential and his first choice manager given free reign is McLaren then his judgement is more than questionable. I suspect this isn't the case myself however.

ludicrous situation we're in that we're so bad at defending there's little chance a backs to the wall might secure a 0-0 and we're so bad going forward that trying to outscore them will absolutely not work we're in a perfect pardew-esque state of footballing purgatory
  20. he's a scout A scout that has a very big say in a canny few decisions including the next boss tbf we understand
  21. I saw this article, love how before they start talking about who we want to buy loan they get it in there that Cisse will be away so that's a direct replacement plus two We are the worst club in the world man, so bad.
