  1. skimmed it, but it might as well have been written in condemnation of pardew
  2. You've made a bit of a journey there. Popular though it is to blame Pardew for everything that's going wrong, we all know that Ben Arfa has his issues. It's not easy for an individual to change their ways, and I don't think that Hatem has met that challenge. I think the lad has psychological issues, and could do with some help in moving forward. It always seems to be one step forward, and then one step back. I came across this quote from him - "I’ve always had huge problems in respecting authority. I had a lot of frustration in my family when I was growing up, and took it out on others. “My father never told me he loved me. My life lacked generosity - while he always backed me he could never express his feelings. “My dad grew up without a father of his own. He copied the example he’d had, and I am trying to break the mould for the sake of my progress. “With hindsight I can see how people took me for someone overly sure of himself. I was giving off a negative vibe - I had bad energy. I was arrogant. I was a victim of my own impulsiveness. “I’ve done some terrible things in my career. They were more down to my attitude than to what I said, and they displeased the people around me.” Has he ever had help with this? I didn't deny he had issues. As for changing his ways he's not gone public over the continual shafting he's had from pardiola which suggests maybe he's grown up. Whether he's grown as a footballer we'll probably never find out.
  3. there's obviously truth to the fact that HBA had trouble integrating at his previous clubs and was seen as a bit of a troublemaker etc. never really fulfilling his talent what annoys me is the lad came to us in his mid-20's and was obviously extremely grateful for the club standing by him after the injury, he got himself back and got himself fit and focused on making the french national team as a result and at that point looked like he could really go somewhere...he has, however, been subject to the whims and ineptitude of pardew's awful management lurching from one bad decision to another usually with HBA the implied or stated culprit for his failures if we'd had a different manager, one who knew how to set a team up at all (even functional with HBA given licence would have been better), we'd have seen a different player this last 1-1.5 years....i'm not saying he'd have become a world beater but he might have reminds me of discussions around the time we weren't quite as shit where people were sticking up for pardew vs. ben arfa and a few of us were pointing out that whenever he got the ball the rest of the team stood still and watched him try to take on 4 players...certain people chose to believe that it was because he was a selfish cunt and the players knew they'd not get the ball off him...does anyone still believe that now? or is the more likely explanation that pardew instructed the team to stand still in case HBA "fucked up" and left the team exposed... the man makes me sick, we could have been watching a truly great, exciting footballer enjoying his football, instead we've watched an inept fuckwit crush him mercilessly to further his own ends
  4. what was the verdict on that goal vs liverpool, entirely hart's fault? i mean it's no fault of the defender (other than sterling mugged him like a 90 year old granny) but on the brief view i saw of it hart was directly behind the defender and unsighted then decided to take a gamble on which way he'd go
  5. I wouldn't say Barkley has been pissing it all season either. i didn't, but then who has? i'm arguing in favour of playing him ahead of henderson or another "known quantity"...youth and unpredictability vs. steady away not likely to do much of anything as stated, i also feel henderson will revert back to looking more ordinary when out of liverpool's system
  6. also funny how barkley isn't ready but people have sterling as their number fucking 10 he's come good these last few months but he's not been pissing it all season, people seem to forget
  7. story goes he was away to chelsea years back but some scouse gangsters threatened him so he stayed i heard a right jackanory from this gobshite scouser at work a while back about one of his relatives, gerrard and a hand grenade on his doorstep or summit
  8. They'd have a huge problem going past their group with a line-up like that. I know many like Henderson, but there must be someone better there. Always found him extremely average and even when I watch him in this winning side he doesn't impress me. I just think a team like that plays right into Uruguays strength. agree, i think having henderson in there just plays into the opp hands as he's not really a threat...you can't have him and gerrard not threatening the other team, which is what that would end up with
  9. Think you are over hyping Barkley a bit yes he has played very well this season and scored some good goals but he's still very young making the cross decision and giving away the ball cheaply. Give him a few more seasons and he has the potential to be an England starter but for this World Cup i think its a bit too early. Couldn't disagree more, he has the look of a big game player to me. Also the finished article? I've been watching England groom 'finished articles' for more than 25 years and it's never done us any good whatsoever. If the alternative was much better than Henderson then yeah, but it's not. Henderson will get laughed off the pitch at a world cup man, if they even bother to consider he's there.
  10. see the point but not at the expense of henderson playing instead of barkley...bear in mind henderson looks good in rodgers' well oiled passing and moving machine but planted into hodgson's hands he'll almost certainly end up looking like what he is, a decent footballer but little else...at least barkley can skin people and beat them on his own, carry the ball up the pitch, bring others into play, you need that at international level not loads of limited, tidy footballers if barlkey doesn't play we deserve what we get as a country tbh, in this tournament and going forward...what're we so fucking scared of, that the kid might not be afraid and go and have a great tournament? the alternative he has a shit tournament, but at lease he'll learn something
  11. I've just seen Crystal Palace have moved to within 6 points of us Somebody please start talking to me again about the difficult job Pardew has on his hands, the substandard and depleted squad of players he has at his disposal like some have been doing for 3 years. The man is a fucking charlatan and Pulis doing what he's done with that team just proves it beyond doubt. When we struggled last year, and in this current struggle what has Pardew done as a manager but cry about missing players and blame the press/education/wind etc.? The answer is nothing, it was nothing last year and it's nothing now. Making me angry to think some people defended him after last season. Beggars belief. Happy Face's stats said the same mind you.
  12. Can't understand anyone posting a team without Barkley in it tbh. Madness.
  13. He's out of his depth. Been defending him, but after seeing Barcelona play Cesc for 5 straight games while whipping crosses in from everywhere I think he's done. Thought he'd do better, but he's just not supposed to manage a team like Barcelona. Think I got crucified for saying this a few weeks ago btw Yeah, I wasn't sure it was him who kept forcing them to cross those fucking balls in. He's come at the worst time for the club, but there's no way it's Dani and Alba who have decided to cross it over and over again. Must be coming from management. Therefore I think you were right I just felt he wasn't 'big' enough for the job tbh and was failing to get performances when more experienced managers in European football probably would be. Not happy being right about him mind, hate seeing Real win things.
  14. He's out of his depth. Been defending him, but after seeing Barcelona play Cesc for 5 straight games while whipping crosses in from everywhere I think he's done. 15. I think this season was his peak tbh. During the 5th season he was class, but I think this season he was outstanding. Back half of 5th placed season and this season were his best. Agree. I also didn't say he improved in terms of ability, I said his reputation improved in his time with us, which I think is true. I'm firmly of the opinion that shit-for-brains held back Cabaye's footballing development and we only saw the real Cabaye in the brief periods of better football Pardew happened upon. In the defensive, functional Pardew utopia cabs still looked a cut above because he is.
  16. While I agree with Wullie's point to an extent the club could quite easily point to Cabaye enhancing his reputation while with us and now playing for about the richest club in the world. He put in the effort and had the right attitude most of the time, got his rewards, while the others only have themselves to blame etc. Not what I think but assuming the money is on the table the fact we're crippling promising careers under Pardew can and will be swept away easy enough if no one else wants them.
  17. "A new word has entered the Geordie vocabulary: Pardewed. To be Pardewed involves having all the creativity crushed out of you. " what a start
  18. aye, he utterly fucked it from start to finish like...i'm not having any excuses on his part for that fuckfest, none of it
  19. Nah. Think he's just your bog standard British manager. what are you all realistically hoping for here if we get rid of pardew like? i mean wish lists are great but fucking hell
  20. i think you go extremely easy on pardew in your assessment of last season HF, much of that was his doing imho and i said so at the time otherwise pretty much on the mark about the cunt aye
  21. isn't it universally accepted that this will not be part of the criteria when picking pardew's replacement? i don't know enough about mckay to be in his corner, was just wondering what people didn't see in the bloke
  22. not a chance, if it wasn't for all of the furore at cardiff with the owner sending weird emails, he could have expected to get sacked anyway, they were awful, it just so happens they should have gone for someone that wasn't Solksaer bow to your superior knowledge, they fell away but i saw them a few times at the start of the season and they played better stuff than most of the shit i've seen under pardew bear in mind i'm mainly thinking about available managers not under contract rather than us taking a manager from another club...of the choices out there, he's far from the worst
