  1. Sorry didn't mean you specifically was meant generally.
  2. Why apply that to footballers and not say companies where the execs get paid millions each year? Why trust one drug and not the other?
  3. f***ing cruises? Maybe these guys aren't so smart after all It looks like you is the one who aren't so smart after all. Wiz a shit joke captain buzzkill
  4. I'd rather see it cancelled and FIFA forcibly disbanded. Rotten to the core.
  5. Do you lot go after anyone at these times? Black athletes for example.
  6. Fucking cruises? Maybe these guys aren't so smart after all
  7. So, what rules would you put in place which would exclude an employer being able to access the scheme? Don't get me wrong, PL clubs using this mechanism is completely wrong but I don't see this as a failing of the government. Would it be better that clubs simply laid off their non-playing staff? You know for sure what Ashley would have done faced with that choice. Well just as a general example for any business, let's say wage costs are £80m and you lay off 80% of your staff but the wage bill only drops by 20% there's something clearly wrong. That's in effect what's happened at these PL football clubs isn't it? Albeit the non playing staff numbers won't be that high. Apply the same thing to high paid directors and executives etc. in any business. Oh you're keeping 20 guys that make up 60% of your wage bill and paying off 300 are you? No you're fucking not.
  8. Dat benefit of the doubt again.
  9. That's correct. Tories gonna Tory I guess.
  10. I'm not paying a massive amount of attention tbh but am I right thinking clubs have kept players on at existing contract rates, one of their biggest expenses, and thrown the non playing staff costs up be mostly picked up by the gov? That right? Have the government completely fucked this scheme up then cause that sounds ridiculous.
  11. Actually in total agreement with him generally about the 16.59 culture* in this country, boils my piss, but the way to go about changing it isn't to humiliate people, shout at them and expect them to magically become great at their jobs. Who knows maybe he did loads of 1 on 1 coaching but I fucking doubt it. *Mind you goes both ways, you can't clock watch people and have that culture then complain if they pay you back. We need to move to more task oriented working practices where possible imo.
  12. Step 3 I'll repeat, I can only hope that Bruce is treated as awfully as possible, such as finding out watching SSN with Rafa being unveiled as manager. Fucking prick.
  13. anyone think they're going to allow mass crowds of people again this year? seems to me you get through the lockdown and start to open things up again then in july/august start allowing hundreds of thousands of people gather together you're basically creating a time bomb for the months the NHS is at its most stretched no? can see a lot of things returning to normality but can't see crowds being allowed again this year so no gigs etc.
  14. match made in heaven tbh, if he managed to get them back to the prem he could keep them on a starvation diet for decades and they'd lap it up (mind you so are "we" so probably shouldn't point the finger too much)
  15. Pls buy mackems Pls buy mackems Pls buy mackems Pls buy mackems Pls buy mackems
  16. I know this is bollocks, but there is literally not a player around that is set up to be a hero at newcastle than Icardi imo Isn't he a proper arsehole? Nicked Lopez's wife or summit in a shitty way. Inter fans hated him aye?
  17. Methven Eton & Oxford. What a fucking shock.
  18. The video says he was playing in a team that pressed and played to clear instructions etc. Not a great deal of point in trying to play a pressing game as an isolated number 9 while everyone else is sitting 50 yards off you.
  19. Aye that's a disgrace. But he's a Tory so you can expect nothing else really.
  20. Do you think we're saying the government should force footballers to do it? I think they should be offering to help, those that are in a privileged position. Playing for PL teams is a massive privilege and differs from other businesses due to its unique link to the community and people that support it (and contribute directly to said wages). I wouldn't expect Messi to pay the wages of the tea lady at SJP but I'd expect him to offer to help the lady that served his paella for the last 15 years at Masia. Notwithstanding billionaires should be leading the charge, but they're billionaires and will never do so.
  21. See companies allowed to apply for this 80% at the same time as paying dividends and making profits? That's fucking mental to me like.
  22. It's obviously different but I'd expect similar gestures from millionaire artists to support your staff or something, millionaire actors on big projects to make gestures to the staff on paused projects to help them out. I don't think it's all on the players or whoever but I think gestures could be made at the very least personally, especially when they won't harm them one bit in the long run.
