  1. Well quite. I mean, I get that it's shit, but giving an exception to Leganes doesn't solve the problem. Where are they going to get someone? And are they then going to give the same exception to that team? The original rule is the problem. I mean, unless your team is wiped out in a horrible accident, just play a guy out of position for a couple of months. They had Messi and Griezmann the other day FFS. i've no issue with the rule* as long as it can't include activating a clause - without the rule leganes then have to balance the 18m or whatever they want for the player (can demand much more given the circumstances if the clause is rendered moot) vs. the risk of relegation *obvs better if they don't have it at all mind
  2. i'd say we're probably due one of our better players doing something unexpected/quality, or getting a decision that goes our way like a red card that'll be the only way we get anything more than likely
  3. it's obviously shite but didn't all of the clubs agree to this rule together? if so didn't they fucking think about it at the time
  4. see that point about the athletic, i did a month trial on it when they did that blitz of publicity and honestly didn't see anything different from what i see from the likes of edwards in a broader sense yes the direct football pieces seemed a bit better researched but are they doing any pieces tearing bruce's capabilities to shreds? are they exposing anything ashley is up to? honest question, because if they're not what the fuck are they doing
  5. The flaw in this very simple argument so many like to put forward is this: Word gets around, and if that is what has happened repeatedly, for over 10 years, then there must be a huge queue of insanely gullible billionaires out there. Which there isn't. Ashley isn't that clever. They would all know he has no interest in selling. He is however clever enough to plant a few silly stories in the press and have people believe his shit (see:BZG). it's clearly not as simple as the above because every bid will be different, the price likely different depending when the bid is made, and the conditions he's asking for will likely change based on the nature of the bids he's not been leaking false stories for 10 years man
  6. quality post as ever rgk_lfc[/member] could for any number of our players this season as well, but the fall for longstaff has been hard and fast probably due to his age and injuries
  7. honestly feel embarrassed for the man after reading that, tragic stuff
  8. He'd wait to get sacked. We all know he's got 0 self respect so money >>> . His mates in the media turning on the fans would be a laugh riot too. IDK, i feel you're right but he's extraordinarily touchy and emotional when he's received the slightest of criticisms - a sustained period of abuse might break the cunt
  9. shelvey is proven shite, don't want him anywhere near the team personally, all you guarantee is sitting deep and launching hollywood balls...it wouldn't solve our problems one bit unless he can go on a scoring run again which he's basically never done his entire career
  10. if you were in bruce's shoes and were looking to change the system for the rest of the season what would you do? i'd probably go something like --------------dubs------------------ manq---lascelles---clark----rose--- -------------hayden---------------- ---longstaff--------shortstaff------ ----------------joey----------------- -------ASM---------almiron-------- put clark but would prefer Lejeune however he'd need easing back into things 3 midfielders fluid, one of them always available to take the ball from the CBs and the other two making space to receive a pass and get forward to support...joey drops deeper looking for the ball, no more long ball shite if we're losing games, and we are, might as well have a fucking go
  11. Yup. He was told he'd be getting a £40M striker and he rubbed his hands with glee. It's taken him 7/8 months of working with him, every day, in training to come to the realisation he lacks the instinct of a striker. Posts like this never cease to amaze me. If you spent 3 years watching Rafa Benitez and didn't conclude how important coaching is then I don't know what to say. The lad is new to a country, very young and working for a man whose eyes only light up at the sound of a bacon sandwich. I'd imagine he doesn't know what day of the week it is nevermind where the goal is. What the fuck are you on about? I was basically pointing out that Bruce's coaching is shit. Ineffective. Pointless. I wasn't having a dig at the player. perhaps i misread the meaning of your post but it read like the shite bruce himself spews out - joelinton "doesn't have the instinct" so that's that then, no point in bothering to fucking do anything my meaning was the useless cunt should be doing his job and getting more out of the clubs record signing, not acting like it's a fait accompli he can't influence
  12. yeah i've no issue with his workrate, he seems to let his head drop at times after spending the whole match chasing shadows but he'd be much better served in a deeper role imo
  13. He probably thinks he's being innovative playing Almiron on the wrong side. Inverted wingers and all that.
  14. See what's funny about Joelinton to me is that it's obvious we need to do and we kind of have the players to do it, but Bruce is a fucking dinosaur and has no idea. Anyone see Watford today? Joelinton should be playing the role they played Doucoure in, deep 9 or 10 harrying the midfielders/cbs of the other team. ASM & Almiron should be playing high and a bit narrower like the Liverpool front 3 to be able to break effectively when we win it. We need to press higher and more aggressively to get our attackers in better areas. It's so fucking obvious. That, however, would require Bruce to stop picking the worst ball playing CBS and work out how to get the best from Longstaff again, which is impossible.
  15. We've got a lot of scope for expansion mind you Decky. The Chinese still haven't been used. Americans only referenced in passing so they could be resurrected. Venezuela have a lot of money and we could play the "didn't want to sell to Communists" angle. The world is our oyster.

  17. Priorities! Ahahaha fucking hell Steve Bacon
  18. Only problem with your analysis is he's never been massively successful before. He was 22 when we signed him and was on an upward trajectory before we got involved. The 40m obviously remains insane but I'm my opinion he'll go on to have a decent career elsewhere at a club with actual coaches. It depends on what you class as decent I suppose. I don't see any qualities in the lad that would make him a good PL player at all. I will reserve judgement on that until I see him working for a real coach. You'd think anyone would have scored more but I refer back to Haller at West Ham who was banging them in abroad and he's only got 5 pl goals so far. The system is fucked and this lad needs help, which he's not getting.
  19. No, and this is why I said it stinks. Leganes are 2 points from safety, this could send them down. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1244939/Barcelona-Martin-Braithwaite-Transfer-Leganes-News-Rumours-Gossip I think the rule is fine but they shouldn't be allowed to activate a clause and sign the player without agreement from the selling club. They should render the clauses obsolete in the event that rule is enacted.
