  1. Would you not have said last season was enough to have sacked him anyway. I mean losing something like 13 in 15 or whatever it was. 0-3, 0-6, 0-1 in our 3 homes games as well, 2 of those games against 2 of our most hated teams. Pardew is lucky to be here as it is, and as he is Ashley might as well back him. without a doubt he should have gone but he'll have felt himself that there were enough factors he could use to excuse his shitness last year...if he gets these players and still fails now what's he going to say like?
  2. he won't go without plenty more fail to come i feel, it'll need to get to absolute crisis point for him to walk
  3. the other thread where people are discussing 2 new strikers and how pardew won't know how to utilise them got me thinking, maybe ashley could decide to force him out by signing 2 strikers, giving him a strong enough and talented enough squad and watch him fail with it, which he's rather likely to do i think pardew would have to quit if we start the season with the existing squad + 2 new strikers and he can't make it work - the excuses will surely have dried up by then
  4. imagine if kinnear's contribution ends up being to bring in 2 new strikers, sort the cisse thing out and ship shola out to another club
  5. Who would play on the wings? Great striker options though. in a 4-4-2, assuming we were smart enough to train the players to play the system i'd have santon RW and benny LW and all throughout pre-season training would have had them working on beating their man and getting quality crosses in CM is the problem for me if we went 4-4-2, sissoko would have to play simply cause he can get up and down and i suppose cabaye due to how bad tiote is now but i don't think they would work as a CM pair has to be 4-3-3
  6. That would be the squad pretty much done for me (being greedy a centre back and another wide player would be nice). A lot of talk about Sunderland, Norwich etc.. but I would struggle to fit any of their players into our team and maybe even on the bench* if we get these two. *We could have outfield players like Gouffran, Bigi, Gomis, Saylor, Haidara and Anita on the bench and still have a team of - Remy Cisse HBA Marveaux Cabaye Sissoko Santon Colo MYM Debuchy Not sure how many players I would swap from that bench with players from teams around us. had a similar conversation last night about the mackems, problem is we have the worst manager in the league to utilise our talent so we'll still be shite
  7. jesus man, if these rumoured bids came off and we ended with gomis & remy pardew is going to meltdown...he has no idea what to do with too many midfielders and not enough strikers so trying to shoehorn cisse, gomis, remy, hba, cabaye, tiote, sissoko, gouff & jonas into the same team will literally break the dumb fuck marv & anita might as well start looking for hobbies 'cause i think they'll have plenty of spare time

    Papiss Cissé

in his defence he might find it easier staying onside if we had other players occupying the opposition's defenders and pulling them about a bit as it is he's always feeding on scraps anyway, plus all the other team need to do is watch him and keep a line while the rest of our team stand and watch
  11. mid table should their aim this season surely? what the fuck else would they be aiming for, surely not ewrup?
  12. pardew in being fucking clueless shocker

Because our club do not communicate it leads to all sorts of speculation. Would save them a load of hassle if they just told the truth can't see how it would have helped anyone except a load of internet fishwives in this case, going public would have backed people into corners and potentially led to perceived ill feeling between the parties, making a resolution much more difficult also it's feasible wonga requested the club to keep quiet so as not to publicly confirm that our #9 has a problem with our main sponsor, they've got plenty of bad press as it is my only beef with the whole thing is it may have clouded our pursuit of new strikers but even that's total guesswork, it may not

    Papiss Cissé

aye that's been my take on it

so what actually happened here then in the end? no official statement from cisse as far as i'm aware, just some stories in the paper with no official quotes, cisse stays at home for a few days when he's fasting for ramadan anyway and now it's all sorted...have i got that right? looking at it from that standpoint have the club done that badly? guess the main problem might have been it's presumably created uncertainty about our transfer targets which should now no longer exist...go on then joe
  16. Are you just trying to argue with me for the sake of it? I've already answered that. nah man
  17. yes and my question was what information? and there is very little - it's a reasonable conclusion i'm aware but it also inherently implies that ashley is willing to risk relegation in order to get rid of alan pardew...even on an 7 year contract paying it up to sack him would cost a lot less than relegation
  18. genuine question but how did you reach this conclusion? A more pertinent question, considering the information and evidence available to us all, would be: How can anyone not reach that conclusion? so no evidence of anything = evidence now does it? /inochi Pardew has repeatedly stated he wants players including some he has personally identified, no players are forthcoming & bids for players have been at best thin on ground despite a 'specialist' (who happens to be an ally of the owner) being appointed to oversee such activity. I think it's easy to assume what Inochi stated. Add that to the increasingly bemused reportings of the 'inside circle' of journalists, too. Something is well and truly up. why does it have to be sabotage? could just be basic incompetence from all concerned at that level or ashley not willing to release funds for the type of player we want to buy at this stage it's also possible joe is still operating in a pre-transfer window football existence so he's not in any hurry to sign anyone as we can get them in october anyway
  19. Good talk. was just a wee dig at you always playing devil's advocate
  20. no, i'm aware, doesn't mean it's impossible to coax a working system out of them imo
  21. genuine question but how did you reach this conclusion?
  22. problem is we're lightweight upfront and have buffoon of a manager who is not smart enough to work around the above striker shortage a decent manager would get us to january no bother imo by adapting a system to utilise hba, marv, sissoko & cabaye to good effect with gouff and campbell...it'd have to be based on passing and movement though, keeping possession and the ball on the ground hence why we're fucked there's potentially a lot of goals in that midfield, we just have a manager without a scooby how to get them
