the only person i see saying he's so far away from being able to play first team is ronaldo tbh...
-
because he scored a few goals in a shit team so he's proven, i suppose that's the logic
-
if we went 4-4-2 and didn't sign a left winger this is the only thing that makes any sense tbh...not doing it would be suicide
-
the quotes in NE5's sig man, was like having 'nam flashbacks
-
it's a bold move to boost his chances of getting a permanent move to OM i'll give him that, getting his agent to say the only club he'd take a paycut for will be everton no idea why this gobshite gets so much attention
-
i like the way every remy article says remy, accused of rape, "an accusation he denies" aye, like he's gonna hold his hands up and say he did it, they're known for that the rapists

Needs proper coaching, which we don't have. exactly, if he's getting caught out positionally and pushing forward at the wrong times then we should start by making him a defender again and build up the attacking side of his game later on after he's more solid problem last season imo was he was one of the few few people who provided any movement and was capable of moving the ball up the pitch without belting it, so he was doing it way too much and getting punished if they reign him in, get him to defend first and someone else provides more movement then his errors will certainly reduce....it's not like he can't defend at all EDIT: it's the exact same thing as if he was misreading the offside trap all the time and playing people in, you wouldn't just let him persist in doing it you'd coach it out of him
-
agree with this 100%, i see what George Bailey is saying about a strategic approach to players and signing the players who would fit his system but pardew is perhaps the only person on this planet who could take the group of players we have and think that rigid, defensive hoofball is the way to succeed
-
don't agree that he wants out, if he did i honestly see no reason why he couldn't sell the club and recoup his investment no bother - if he tried so the alternative theory is that he wants out but isn't willing to bother his arse to actually try to sell the club so he can get out
-
it's all about how you value a player, 2m is nonsense but i'd not be happy bidding more than 4-5m for bent personally and certainly wouldn't want to entertain wages in excess of any of our senior players either villa are not in a position of strength here, neither is bent, so fuck them
-
i think what ian says only applies for teams stuck in mediocrity, if you want to win something or successfully fight relegation then the manager is everything
-
was this a reaction to the bent deal collapsing? i'm fucking delighted man
-
what the fuck happened in here man? i'm in the ian w camp for once, we're not totally fucked or anything...if the remy and gomis deals both come off, which is very possible, then we transform instantly into something looking very different indeed we're on a knife edge though, if neither deal comes off then as dave says we might well be headed down a bad path again, but i honestly think we'll start the season with at least one of gomis or remy and cisse then it's all down to our incompetent coward of a manager, cool as ice

If he's got the power to sack Pardew he's proving his incompetence as a DOF with every passing day.

thats your opinion but ... Pardew got a clean sweep of the 'Manager of the Year' awards 12 months before ... and Ashley probably realises he didn't fund (aside from Anita) transfers last summer, so, since we weren't relegated, is willing to give him another chance to prove himself. Pardew had a disappointing season and didn't meet his targets. He overachieved on his targets the previous year, giving himself a little extra breathing space. If he had got us relegated he deserved to be sacked. Since he didn't (just...) he deserves another shot, but if Oct/Nov we really look like its another season of battling relegation, I'm expect Ashley will sack him There has to be a little loyalty, a little long-term thinking and continuity ... Or, we are like Chelsea (the most successful Premiership club in the last 10 years) changing manager every season. Ok by me, if we invest in bringing in managers that are probably in the top 5 (or at least 10) in the world, as Chelsea tend to (not always with Grant and Di Matteo, I admit) You're off your rocker if you're being serious there like. Not much wrong with that IMO, Pardew earned a bit of leeway because of his previous good season. Don't see how that's crazy at all. So you think that's OK, but that we should ignore his previous record of flopping at other clubs...? Seems a bit selective to me..... Well in the past, and often with managers, he's been sacked before he's had a chance to put things right. Will be interesting to see what happens. am i wrong in thinking our pre-season games to date suggest he hasn't learned a f***ing thing? He doesn't learn. He said if he thinks what he's doing is right, he WILL NOT be be swayed, and he clearly thinks the way we play is going to be successful if we persist. I don't see him putting anything right. neither do i, i think he'll try to recapture the 5th season by being tight and trying to nick wins again....probably after gomis to emulate ba's role he's fucking rubbish, really really bad, watch hughton turn norwich into a quality team with all his signings next year and all

good debate ok then see all of my bolded points in succession: 1. he came very close last season and has previous for it 2. he's clearly the biggest problem in getting the current group of players we have to play football 3. i agree, maybe he could get us up to 10th if things go his way with injuries and he can get the defence sorted again 4. you picked one of many horrific points from last season, he should never have walked away from this tbh my take is and always has been he's on a downward spiral, he's a boom and bust manager - that's what his record states and we were within a hair's breadth of being bust last season, it was only through the utter shitness of qpr and wigan we stayed up make no mistake about that i honestly don't know what point you're trying to make with your post if i'm honest, doubt many others do, he's an awful manager mate

pardew is fucking awful man

our valuation of players clearly takes into account potential resale value as a factor in their worth, maybe a deciding or heavily weighted factor actually we'll offer more for aubyemang because more than likely at his age if he succeeds we'd stand to rake in a fortune much less for gomis etc.
