  2. Fail. fail what, 3 people posted the same shit article from the Star didn't they?
  3. why have 3 people posted the same article man? the same article from the Star
  4. Somebody mentioned Keegan, parallels are there for me. Sort the basics out, motivate the players to a new level and a few key signings. He never took it on though (MON not KK)
  5. 'Chance at the big time', I think he'd have a chance at the big time with Aston Villa, and that he has no chance with Everton. I also don't think there's a more established English team that will appoint him any time soon... though maybe Man United or Arsenal want to prove me wrong on that. Redknapp's ensconced at Spurs, Chelsea want superstar managers, Man City are mental and Liverpool are also from Liverpool. His only other option would be to go abroad, which is something Brits rarely do... although I do seem to remember something from a year or two back about him learning Spanish or something. I think Villa might well have missed their moment because of developments at Man City and Spurs - a better manager a couple of years ago and things could have been very different, I feel. When Man City break into the top four (which is inevitable), Spurs, Liverpool, Villa and Everton will all belong to the same bracket and the only chance of them joining the "big four" will be if they spend the money Man City have. Spurs have been fortunate this year that Liverpool were shite but they won't remain their long IMO (unless Arsenal slip, which i doubt). Wrong thread but yeah, spurs should really make the most of this.
  6. Villa will go foreign now IMO. Be interesting to see what Lerner does now, from some posts here you'd think he was a wise fucking sage with decades experience appointing managers who drove them to success. He has as much chance to screw the pooch here as Ashley did tbh. Not saying he will, just has the chance. He might go sentimental like Ashkey did, bring back Graham Taylor. Or DOL. Ahem.
  7. For me it's more a case of who'll have to be lining up in place of a young, pacey French International Same thing I know, just the way of looking at it, should it not go ahead that is which hopefully it will.
  8. you're not his agent by any chance are you?
  9. agree robert-shearer-bellamy as a front three would have been awesome
  10. just what i've been saying, not sure what Ronaldo and neesy are on about tbh...no one's saying Robert was a bad player or anything but you simply couldn't carry 2 x roberts in your team, it'd have been a bloodbath against anyone half decent
  11. @ the bit in bold totally agree about the 99% though...fuck national football if it in anyway threatens to negatively affect NUFC (in the days when it might have ) this country is going down the pan, and has been for years! 100% agree on that

  13. what are you on about? having solano in the team did exactly that man...he was a winger willing to defend more than robert (a lot more) and thus having 3 men in midfield being protective allowed robert the freedom to get forward as he did selling solano to replace with ambrose / bowyer / dyer suggests he didn't think a team of 2 roberts on the wing was the way to go, or he'd have done it instead of using more responsible players there...no?
  14. i never said he was, i said he worked harder and was more responsible than robert, which is true hypothetical nonsense man, 2 roberts (which is what we're talking about) would have meant far too much strain on the CM's & DF's changing the balance of every game that was played i like that you like robert, i did too, but there isn't a team since the PL began that won the league without at least one responsible/hard working winger that i know of
  15. what if they retired 'cause they didn't think they could do themselves and their country justice, still cunts then?
  16. he also knew the importance of balance in a team, you clearly don't is that why bobby sold solano then Robson: "We've bought young Ambrose, one of the finest young players in the country at the time, and he's ready. I see him in training every day and he is for the future. "We bought Bowyer at the same time. We can also play Kieron Dyer in that position. It's a good deal for both clubs."
  17. workrate and style of play; solano was much more responsible and worked harder without the ball...he was also much more "south american" in terms of keeping possession - he didn't lose it a lot in stupid places robert was very direct but didn't give a fuck about the team (in the way he played)...he got the ball and attacked, the rest of the midfield and defence covered for him a lot due to that...he was also prone to try and take people on in the wrong areas so to speak and got caught a lot, made up for it by scoring and providing plenty though, his end product was superb i'm not saying i'd rather have 2 solano's, i'm saying the balance of them was right given the type of player they were 2 wingers like robert in the same team wouldn't have worked anyways, tell me (and the others who disagree) why i'm wrong
  18. he also knew the importance of balance in a team, you clearly don't
  19. Totally, he changes the whole feel of a game, teams have to dedicate a load of thought and manpower to stopping him. If he was a better crosser he'd be amazing, as he is he's very useful. For me the crossing thing isn't the issue, he's not that type of winger. If he has someone who is quick/mobile and making runs off him I see him playing little slide rule balls into space when attacking the other team - the opposition need 2 players on Jonas or he's gone so that should open space for anyone mobile (HBA presumably being the idea) to exploit. Routledge is more the stereotypical winger putting in the crosses for Carroll when he gets a yard. Could end up being a nice mix tbh, as was Ginola/Gillespie...last thing you want is identical wingers. Aye, i'd hate two Laurent Roberts. We'd get nowhere. Is that the Laurent Robert who played with the identical-in-style Solano is it?

  21. are these the "conditions" being referred to? sofas shit and tiny, carpets crap...surprise CH hasn't walked yet
  22. thought he started well in the PL and got dragged down into the shit when the wheels came off like others his ability to run with the ball and take on a man should not be underestimated, if he remains able to do that (as he was before relegation) then it's a massive asset...just imagine an away game without his ability to carry the ball in the forthcoming season
  23. being negative this is my worry, an ashley gamble (sell jonas, spend a little of the money on this loan fee & hope to stay up) long season, we'd need both...jonas has the pace & workrate of our entire CM stock combined, losing him would be a terrible blow indeed
  24. gotta be a good thing this - let him play freely at home and try to open teams up that will come and sit deep away from home be more cautious and maybe use him as an impact sub when things are tight canny deal for me, assuming it goes ahead if his heeds full of mince then it'll be fucked like
