have the same understanding for little mickey when he was injured? just interested...wasn't a lot of sympathy for that little fuck when he was harping on about playing for england despite not being able to walk onto the pitch for the people who pay his wages

lifestyle generally has an effect on that kind of thing, if not being a 100% cause - you happy with the way Joey has seemingly conducted his lifestyle since joining NUFC as a very highly paid employee?

he mentions himself in the England frame ffs, doesn't say a lot about the state of his mind does it? he'd be lucky for a call up to England ladies to be honest
  4. don't you get the most points in FF for clean sheets with defenders? fair enough he might be a great individual defender and win the odd motm award and weight in with some goals but that's unlikely to yield as many points as clean sheets over a season is it...
  5. for me the question would be better put: would you prefer to see NUFC approach every game with the intention of winning it 1 - 0, i.e. setup defensively and try to steal something; or would you prefer a more attacking philosophy in every game that could result in high scoring games but maybe more losses vs. draws? neither one would guarantee success or relegation - it's a question about aesthetics for me it's the latter everyday
  6. yeah he'll play games but for a FF team is he gonna keep clean sheets? probably not
  7. Fergie is due a hit in the market so Hernandez is a good shout for me - looked a player from what i saw in the WC too French defender at Arsenal...wouldn't touch him with a shitty stick for FF team

Just the £9m taken off us so far for f***-all except all these pathetic little soundbites. Can he not just shut the f*** up til he's played a few games? Why does it matter? Unless he gets injured on the way to or from the interview, it's not like he's going to be any better or worse for talking to a journalist. I'd rather he came out with positive stuff like this (about him and his team mates tbh), than something negative. In the end, all this is about is some journalist asking him if he thinks he's good enough for one day getting another England cap. His choices are either to go along with it and have a positive spin on the article, or he says no comment and the journo will dig up something about him and how his brother is in prison and bla bla bla. Why have an interview in the first place. He's probably had more interviews than matches ffs. It's not that I disagree with what he says, but I'm sick of him taking the big fight, when he should just fucking get on with it and actually prove that he's the best midfielder at the club. It's pointless saying you have a ferrari in the garage if its engines fucked. on the money again KI - been our problem for as long as i can remember, too much fucking talk from everybody, never enough actual performances shut up, go out and win us at least one game with a stand out performance before mouthing it ffs Barton
  9. agree with this...there's a difference between negative boring football and direct ambitious football which is being lost here somehow...hughton has the players for the latter, not the former in the PL imo narrowing the pitch, if true, is a funny one as we have 2 wide men that can really stretch teams especially at home - is it any wonder people might be suspicious of our style of play to come?
  10. Here's an idea- why don't we wait and see how we play this season before implicitly comparing Hughton's style to Allardyce and Brown's? What wasn't what I was doing actually: we had Allardyce who had the approach 'anything to win' and he was unanimously hated by toon fans. I'm not saying we'll be as bad as that under Hughton but I think most recognise he'll be aiming for a fairly limited game against a lot of teams, keep it tight and try to nick something especially away from home, and at home against the better teams. (personally I think that'll fail with the crop of players he has) If he does that and we're really struggling I think it's a valid point to ask how long he can ride the promotion gravy train. On the other hand he might come out with 2 up top, Jonas and Routledge wide and Vuckic as one of the CM's and we get raped week in week out too - pretty sure the outcome would be the same for Hughton to be honest No point in asking people not to speculate or debate pal, it's a fucking football forum. There's little else to do until the season starts.
  11. Question for the stay up at all costs people: How would you feel if our benevolent owner suddenly appointed Sam Allardyce (hypothetically), Phil Brown, or Gary Megson as manager in an effort to stay up? [Lets say he fell out with Hughton.] Or Bobby Gould, or Dave Basset. You get the idea by now. Genuine question; would win at all costs still be the order of the day? Seems to me Hughton is getting a lot of kudos for promotion last season that's 'excusing' the teams style of play entirely, I'd like to see how that is if we end up in a war of attrition fighting for draws against WBA in the winter with Carroll up front and Smith and Nolan in midfield at home.
  12. Slightly gutted, I miss the player he was before that injury. best finisher the premiership has had since robbie fowler before that injury Woah woah woah woah woah (That's English for 'stop a horse') You've gotten a bit carried away with yourself there like. agreed...did Eduardo even have a good half a season? can't remember much more than that before he got snapped
  13. Diarra EDIT: that's a not fucking likely but would have in a heartbeat sad shake, not a we shouldn't be arsed with him sad shake
  14. I can't believe the width of the pitch is now being used as a stick to beat him with. Has it ever been an issue before? I genuinely can't remember us huffing and puffing about it until now It's the type of stuff that makes you wonder whether there's a more sinister reason for the dislike.
  15. to be fair, they're 3 pretty decent reasons aren't they?
  16. Fuckin funny how bad France were though isn't it? Maybe instead of letting ROI be the 33rd team as the dullards requested they should have let them both play at the same time, 22 vs. 11 - they might have got a result between them then
  17. eh? how many sponsors logo's actually do that? most of them are just one word or however many words the brand name is northern rock - nope, rock climbing school? aig - nope, anally inclined gamblers? samsung - nope, could be anything emirates - nope, is it an ad for the country? and so on you either know what a sponsor is already or you don't and are inclined (or not) to find out...that's surely why they put it on there in the case of newer less established names?
  18. best part of this thread is that no-one has said a single negative thing about either player from what i can see fucking mental, arguing over shades of class
  19. For someone who accused me of not understanding the English language, should I be labelling your last post as 'ironic' or 'hypocritical'? i truly don't know what you're on about and i have a very good grasp of the language - you're the fuckwit who quoted me saying one thing and then claimed i'd said something different start a facebook page about it or summik, bye
  20. Stu, get a grip man seriously. I have never said Xavi is better than Zidane, in fact in the same post you've quoted i said Zidane had/has: "much more natural talent and will rightly be remembered as one of the greats and also be held in higher regard than Xavi due to his sublime talent" What on earth are you finding so difficult to understand? It's truly starting to intrigue me.
  21. Xavi over Zidane PS: Do you want the 2002 WC Nicky Butt as well? (voted as the Best Player of the Tournament by no less than Pele) - he was pretty decent at passing the ball 5 yards as well Xavi is a good player, but Fabregas did in 20minutes what Xavi couldn't do in 90+ minutes. To give Xavi, who is a good player in a good team, the same billing as Zidane, is ridiculous. Why hasn't Ronaldo destroyed you in this thread yet? sometimes amazes me how people can't actually understand their own language*, they can read it but they just don't understand it i like Kid Icarus's analogy - Xavi is the composer of the orchestra, anyone who thinks that Spain would now be reigning European & World champions without Xavi needs their fucking head read...the whole philosophy of their game and style of play revolves around keeping possession and he dictates that for them, for that achievement alone he deserves to be considered a great check out Xavi's stats sometime man, he completes more passes than entire teams ffs Zidane was the Maestro, the soloist, much more natural talent and will rightly be remembered as one of the greats and also be held in higher regard than Xavi due to his sublime talent i just don't see what's wrong with people trying to point out Xavi should now be considered one of the greatest of his time, of my time certainly... *i'm assuming English is your first language Never, in the history of forum postings, have so few words caused such great confusion. The majority of Xavi's passes go to and from Gerard Pique, whether it's for Spain or Barcelona. Go and watch any of the World Cup games, "Pique, Xavi, Pique, Xavi again, Pique again, Puyol, Pique once more, Xavi..." A more cynical person might think that he's trying to pad his stats, but thankfully, we don't take stats so seriously. i'll refer you to Village Idiots and the other people who understand football EDIT: i just went to a popular video site and typed in xaxi assists 2010 - pick any one of them and have a look at all the backpasses to pique why don't you? once you're done apologise, not to me, but to football
  22. how have they managed to shaft that home one, the leaked versions looked gold but when you see it on king it's a joke
