difference is their current owner(s) appear to understand that what happens on the football pitch is what mostly determines a clubs value so if they fail to invest in the side the likelihood of them getting their money back and/or selling for a decent price diminishes, Really? No? again i'm kind of at a loss with what you're trying to say, if you're trying to say my statement can be applied to us then yes i agree very different states we're both in though Stu - Liverpool not strengthening any more might mean they don't make the CL...us not doing it might mean relegation i was talking about club value...one will have a greater impact on value than the other, wouldn't you agree? how much will liverpool have to "strengthen" before they are worth 800mill (if that is the true price) ? a lot obviously but how many seasons without CL football can they suffer before the wheels really come off? let's put it this way as Stu brought us into it - i don't see Liverpool ending the summer balanced on transfers or in a profit and i can not say that with the same level of confidence for us isn't that stus point though, when the wheels come off at liverpool they will have to behave as we are or face going under. we have been to a certain extent in the position liverpool are in. we spent to try and recapture the champs lge place and if it doesn't work your left with a load of debt that cant be built on forever. i'm not trying to be offensive to Stu but from his post if you gleaned that that was his point i just don't know how and i don't see how any of that negates what i said about improving on the pitch - fat fred kept gambling 'cause he knew being up there and having good players is the ONLY way to succeed financially...he took it too far and couldn't see that the game had changed around him with Abramovich etc. but the fundamental principle is sound it's only when you lose sight of when to reign it in things go to shit...i can't say how anyone can say Liverpool are at that point yet

Pre-season specialist Haris Vučkić joins FC Twente

so to anyone who's seen the games so far how's this lad shaping up in the friendlies, he showing any signs he might dislodge one of our midfield fatties? -
Not allowed more than one on the shirt in the Premier League. Thankfully we didn't add any extra last season either. I wondering if that was a reason. I could just imagine a sports direct logo on the back of our shirt if Ashley and co. had their way. too dense to think of it probably

Aye, but do you have the players fit enough (and injury free) to cope with Roy's pretty constant starting 11 philosophy? All good and well starting the season strong, but if you're shattered with a good quarter still to go, you'll soon drop down the table. You mean like every other team? Take a step back, boy, and make the effort to apply the same standards to everyone.

by the way, that Plymouth one in B & B with a player number under the Adidas symbol would have been the law for us

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/this-seasons-worst-football-kits-1715247.html?action=Popup&ino=1 perhaps the worst piece i have ever encountered, they surely can't have paid someone for this they simply can't - must have had a work experience person in or something

oh god don't even say it...the idea they might fall in the qualifiers

I find it very hard to believe that Everton relied on the word of an agent when it came to dealing with Rooney and Rodwell. With either player, they'd have stood to lose £20 million plus. They're not that stupid, surely. I suspect they were a bit slow in getting the paperwork out to Gosling, because they didn't consider him that important a player, or they wanted to see how his injury was progressing before committing themselves. Stu, Cronky has just pointed out the holes I was referring to. Another hole in the "they offered him a contract" argument is that once it became clear they'd fucked up they presumably had the chance to offer him improved terms before he signed for us and either didn't match us or didn't bother. I hope the Everton fans are bitter and Everton themselves are just quiet due to embarrassment over it but I fear it may be either (a) they just weren't that bothered when it came to it or (b) they wouldn't offer more terms to keep him without seeing his recovery. Neither are beyond the realms of possibility.

"Do you have shit in your eyes?" Agree with Zauis mind, have him back in our current team in a heartbeat simply because he can ran and things.

sounds exactly like fucking milner before he joined villa tbh - minus the lower half player bit
-
do i really need to pick the holes in that?

"We see him as a high-energy player and a player that can play from box-to-box, but he's also a young player with experience, so he won't be phased by what is ahead of him." i don't think you could describe our current crop of midfielder's in this way even if you laid them length-ways down the pitch head to toe with each other

has Moyes or anyone else at Everton went publicly apeshit about losing him? that would fill me with confidence if they had on the other hand if they're not saying shit then i'm thinking he's not gonna amount to a great deal or his injury has the potential to affect his game a lot Not really. The Everton fans we've got on the board don't seem to be too angry with this either, but then you have to remember that the calibre of their midfielders is head and shoulders above what we've got. hm, Moyes being your stereotypical parsimonious hard-faced Scottish type i'd have expected something from him...hopefully he just realises they've fucked up and can't be arsed but if Moyes really rated him he'd be going batshit to the press imo

Spot on. The way the twat keeps going on about the Ginola pass just cracks me up, what a cunt From Ginola: "A journalist friend phoned me at home and told me to switch on the television to watch what Houllier was saying," Ginola revealed. "I saw him claim: 'David Ginola is a criminal. I repeat, he is a criminal.'

will he fuck

(a) i didn't compare them whatsoever, i asked if he had the sympathy for one injury prone player he had for another (b) i said lifestyle was not a 100% cause of injury and of course if someone breaks their foot it's nothing to do with it but it would affect their recovery without doubt - do i have to spell that out ffs? © carroll is 21 or whatever, barton (and owen) had better fitness records at that age, if carroll is pissing it up and living the life of a total cunt at 26/27 i'd imagine he will be injured more than he is now (see Kluivert Patrick as another example) (d) i'm sure they love the game too, never said otherwise
