i'd give milner a try playing behind a striker (4-4-1-1), think he's got the ability to cause a few problems in between midfield and defence and has enough passing ability to look for little slide rule passes to owen/martins...unlike a lot of our players milner is comfortable enough with the ball at his to play this role plus he's a shot on him from time to time long range play 4-4-2 and we're beat before it starts i'd say, too fragile and our main attacking threat so far this season is suspended

i think NE5 is right personally on one important point - we will not, and neither will anyone else for that matter, break to the top 4 consistently unless we spend big that is it, end of story...if everyone just agreed with him now we could then actually see discussions that match the topic (such as this)!!! he is right though....the PL champions spent 50m in the summer to stay ahead (liverpool spent 40m and are falling beind?!! why is anyone disagreeing with him?)...losing a 2m defender we signed 6 months ago in a transfer window is not the message to send if we are to be truly ambitious the next transfer window will say it all, spend or die....

perhaps a better way to look at it is he's obviously followed his own interests/instinct rather than choose the option that would have been populist? time well tell if keegan should have followed suit

think it's the move shearer and saints should make, agreed, and it'd set him up for us in the future as for keegans failure that will only happen if he's not given enough cash to spend...if he gets a lot he'll make us a better team for sure, he'll never get us challenging for the top four (unless he gets 100m or something) but he'll improve us and move aside for shearer i reckon

N'Zogbia, is bloody good play and has great potential. He has been played all over the place in a struggling team. Never gets a settled run in the team in a preferred position. this goals and assists can't be used against the lad 'cause he's playing in such an appaling mess of a team...the factor for me is that every game he played at LB under allardyce he was (and still is actually) the only attacking spark in the team/squad

how much of this season has he played at left back?
