Insanity to think someone can jump from a woman's coaching job to a top tier job managing guys. Not that it should be impossible, because sexism is bad and all, but it will not happen in many years yet. It's the equivalent of someone managing Blyth Spartans and saying cool shit on TV being given the Southampton job.

What. Both teams won their opening fixture in a group where basically everyone advances. Will be a boring 1-1 or 2-1 snoozefest like all the other matches so far.

Nope. Looks like she dipped her face in melted butter.

I'm much more entertained by matches from the 90s/early 00s so I disagree. Boring ass mcboring football these days.

Euro 2016 trouble - Russia handed suspended disqualification by UEFA
Kaizero replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
I'm not saying they aren't mocking them FWIW, just a lot of people have been kicking off about it despite the lack of evidence. I usually wouldn't care but the bloke who reported it is a total muppet, his twitter feel last night was really irritating. It's disgusting, stop defending it. End of. Had it been any other set of fans you would've thought the same. Stop defending the indefensible. It's not the first time Russia and England supporters cause trouble in a big tournament. If UEFA and FIFA for that matter, had anything about them, both teams should play home qualifiers without fans for a year or two. Why can most nations fans make a party out of it and have fun together, have friends who were in Paris watching Sweden and Ireland and said both sets of fans had a great time together. There's a fantastic pic of four Swedes in the Irish section during their match. They even got to celebrate Sweden scoring without an issue. -
Because he clearly makes Portugal as a unit worse just because of that fact. If he'd play like a team player for them it'd be something else entirely (See Bale; Wales and Zlatan; Sweden for examples). Seemingly jotenko agrees, and says Portuguese people share this opinion, so I'll take that

She proper loves kissing that big cock

I'm not saying they'd instantly better themselves on the spot, but over time the team would function better as a unit - which is the important thing here because they're not filled with world class players. At the moment they're literally just feeding the ball to Ronaldo hoping for "a bit if magic". That might win them some matches, but no trophies. Need a team for that. Last time they played without him was against Norway before the Euros, no? Won that 3-0.
-
It's simple really. Well functioning team > Ronaldo. Ronaldo is an amazing player, no doubt about it. But him being there is bad for the team performance because he doesn't care about the team, the team exist only to serve him. That isn't a good way to win things. It works at Real because they're all world beaters around him, but whilst talented, the entire Portugal squad are not world beaters. They need to rely on being able to function as a cohesive unit.

Renato Sanchez and Rafa Silva tbh.

Our B-team run riot over Iceland five days after Portugal raped us. It's a decent comparison due to that fact. Iceland were playing their B team too in that game. In fact only 3 Iceland players that started that match started yesterday How does that in any way change my point, though? Given that Portugal, in that sense, also played their B-side since Ronaldo and Nani weren't part of the squad at the time? Look at all the other matches Portugal have played without both, or just without Ronaldo. It's an entirely different, effective, team that plays for eachother and not just for one guy.

Our B-team run riot over Iceland five days after Portugal raped us. It's a decent comparison due to that fact. It's not just this one match where they have looked a lot better without Ronaldo either. Wales need Bale, because Bale is a team player. He heightens the ability of mediocre players around him, Ronaldo doesn't.

Not when those replacements are a mixture of Eder, Helder Postiga, Hugo Almeida, Quaresma, etc. Portugal remind me a bit of 2014 England in that the players are either too old or too young. Watched a Ronaldo and Nani-less Portugal run riot over Norway before the Euros started. They're clearly hindered by the two as they're "bigger" than the team.

Got £50 on the US to win @ 2.75. If that goes in I'm chancing my luck with £50 of the eventual winnings on Peru @ 7.00 Knowing my current betting luck I assume the US will bomb out though.

I hope Iceland do it just to see Ronaldo's face

I still maintain that a Portugal without Ronaldo and Nani = A team that could actually do things.

I trust you don't think Messi is a "legend" either then. He can't even get a good team (Argentina) to a trophy, never mind shite like Portugal Portugal aren't shite. Messi's been better than Ronaldo in international tournaments. Portugal might be better if Ronaldo didn't take 18 shots a game from ridiculous angles We played both them and Iceland before the Euro started. I know international friendlies aren't the best show of quality, but a Ronaldo and Nani less Portugal looked fucking amazing and ran us over whilst a fully topped Iceland got beaten by what was pretty much our B-Squad. tl;dr Portugal suffers because they have Ronaldo.

"Hnar hnar, time to trick N-O with some made up Ronaldo quotes!"

Thank fuck for that. Would've been a parody of a match if the ref ruined this for Iceland.
