  3. I love how he's debating with his followers who's the most man of Ray Mears and Bear Grylls.
  4. While I agree saying "He has to win a WC" is an abolsute non-argument, it is however not a non-argument whatsoever that it's fair to await final judgement on if Messi is "the best there's ever been" until he performs for Argentina. Why? Simply because he just so happens to only have played for what may well be the best team to ever grace a football field, with a style of play that suits him perfectly. The other people contesting for "best ever" have played in lesser teams, and commandeered them to greatness by their own virtue. For instance Maradona, who did it both for club and country. The baseline we've set for Messi is him in the best team in history. It's not easy to say he's the best there's been when that's the baseline. If he'd performed for Argentina as well on a regular basis and been the main force in their team (doesn't have to win a WC, obviously, just be as good for them as he is for Barcelona) I'd have no issue saying he's perhaps better than Maradona, but until then it's a bit of a shit argument. He'll probably never play for any other club than Barcelona in his career either, which makes it even harder to judge his brilliance due to the aforementioned baseline. Which is why it is better to measure up his performances for the only other "team" we'll see him play in, namely Argentina, and compare these performances with what he does for Barcelona. Is it the same class? Is it the same brilliance? Or is a lot of it made possible due to other great players around him at Barcelona? His greatness may well be driven by the greatness of those around him in Barcelona. It's an absolutely brilliant team. He doesn't perform as well for Argentina, against what in many ways are lesser opponents than what Barcelona often meet. It makes me question the validity of his claim to "best ever" that he can't do the same things for two teams. Does he need the other great players of Barcelona around him to be as great as we see him? Maradona didn't need that. Pele didn't need that. The list goes on. He's not a one man show, and until he is I remain unconvinced as to "greatest ever". However he is easily the "greatest right now", that I concede. But if he was in another team he could by all accounts just as easily not be the greatest right now based on his Argie performances, which makes me wonder why he should be named the "greatest ever" this early in his career.

  6. That puma just reminds me of Skirge's home shirt mock up last season with that giant puma all over it.
  7. on the same page, even.
  8. Ref's were in the right there. Obviously open to debate still given just how rarely a ref makes a call like that, same with when a ref gives a pen for holding in the box on one occasion but not in the twenty odd similar situations before or the twenty odd similar situations after.
  9. ""Hit Dioufy with an Angel Pass," I used to roar at my defenders at Blackburn. "Scorch the sky with your delivery, son." Proper football. Then I found out an 'Angel Pass' is also Senegalese slang for a complimentary rim job at a brothel. No wonder Dioufy looked so confused."
  10. Loven should be on his way regardless. He should, but he won't. He'll be seeing out his contract.
  11. If we didn't have Ameobi and McLoven I'd think Graham would be a decent signing as a squad player, but as we do have those two there's the possibility that we're only after one striker, and in that case Graham's not the answer.
  12. Gold badge on all of the black kits or members special on that one as well?
  13. Why is he losing it exactly? He's only signed up a third/fourth choice striker that is more than happy to be a third/fourth choice striker. He's not intending on playing Owen as one of his first XI strikers. He's got better players for that. It's the Man Utd equalent of us keeping Ameobi around for another season even if we bring in two brand new strikers. He's not quality, but if there's a crisis he'll do for a while. Owen is still a cunt though, obviously. But still.

The Norwegian PL channel(s) will show a lot of games from pre-season. Don't know if we'll be on though. We're not among the ones they'll show, at least not yet.

  16. Red Cafe is so fucking annoying in the sense it's one of the bigest football forums around, yet they got one of the shittiest designs and fucking google ads all over. Also there's of course the cunts frequenting the place, but that's another story. Looking around they seem to really rate Barton, though. Maybe there's a few sensible cunts there after all.
  17. Put £50 on Rosenborg @ 2.25, will return £112.5 or leave me with a broken remote.

 Sorry, but he was the time he joined us. Without doubt tbh. He wasn't. He never has been. A special talent, who has had periods when he's been sublime at Lyon and OM, but he's never consistently dominated at the top level. He can be a great player if he doesn't allow this injury and attitude issues to hamper him. They're talking about Owen.
