  1. Was actually really impressed with Yokoyama's goal untill I realised that they were girls, which btw, took too long for my comfort. It's easy to spot as because they're so s*** she actually manage to do what she does it must be women's football. Hardly an achievement as women's football isn't a real sport. I don't understand all this nonsense about women's football not being a "real sport". It's clearly a sport, just not one that you enjoy. They don't really need to change the rules, they just need the general level of the players to improve, which will occur if the sport spreads and becomes more popular. I really don't think any of the problems with the game at current are to do with physical limitations. As for goal size, there are plenty of six foot tall girls about and it is not as if the scores are significantly higher than men's football except when poor teams play top teams. The Norwegian league is pretty much the second best league in the world after the US, and the scores are fucked up each week. Like the cup final with two of the best teams in the country... it ended 7-0 and there might as well not have been a keeper on the pitch. Our standard of league for the women is top notch compared to a lot of other countries, and it's the second most popular sport for women to play here after handball. There is definiately something fundamentally wrong with the way the woman's side of football is played, and unless it will be a sport only for giant women and not your averagely tall women it'd be even more of a niche sport than it is Internationally now. Most women playing football are around 5ft3 to 5ft7, just as those heights are pretty much the average height of women. You see this in the US as well, there's just something not right. It's not as it'd be massive differences, just a slightly smaller area of pitch and a slightly smaller goal to compensate for the physical difference between the genders to provide a more competitive and entertaining incarnation of the sport. Also, the general level of the best female players are no doubt up there with a lot of the best men. I went to college with two female players who at the time had represented Norway in youth Internationals, and it was impossible to play against them. Granted, I'm a pretty shit footballer, but they were just impossible to come up against. I don't think the standard is necessary low, I just think the physicality limits the way the game is played by females compared to males. So unless you start only allowing above average heigth women to play professional women's football, I don't see how my point would not remain valid. And oh, of course it's a real sport. It's just poking fun at it due to the apparent lack of quality compared to male football, a lack of quality which in my opinion is down to playing after the exact same set-up even though the difference in physicality between the genders creates the illusion of the quality being low even though the footballing ability present is actually not bad, at the top clubs at least.
  2. GAMST! Moments like that in a Norway shirt make me forget how big of a twat you are.
  3. Mix is an exciting player. And Decky will get raped. Come on!
  4. I enjoy moonwalks on the beach. £50 on Norway and USA £50 on England, Holland, Spain, Germany
  5. Mix gives me yet another reason to like the US. Seriously hopes he gets on and impresses. Annoyed it's on at the same time as Norway as I wanted to watch it.
  6. People saying that have never bet before. I'm joking you pleb. Or am I? Me and wormy are gonna take the betting industry down. I'm saying you haven't bet before, which doesn't make any sense. But I'm not really all there in the head.
  7. Aye, just looking on some French websites about the game, and a lot of "Carroll starts for England", etc. Little mention of Henderson. Same in Sweden. Since Sunday, there's been three articles on Carroll, think Henderson might have been mentioned in one. Carroll all over here as well. Don't think Henderson's been mentioned in any other sense than when they were posting the entire squad.
  8. Aye, just looking on some French websites about the game, and a lot of "Carroll starts for England", etc. Little mention of Henderson. It's because Henderson is shit and play for an internationally non-famous team.

It's easy to spot as because they're so shit she actually manage to do what she does it must be women's football. Hardly an achievement as women's football isn't a real sport. While on the subject, why are women trying to be equal when it's a natural fact that men and women will be built physically different? Their football suffer from the low keepers and big goals, also the pace suffers because they're slower than most males. Why not just shrink the pitch a tiny bit and have a size smaller goals? It would improve their game to the unrecognisable in my opinion, would perhaps even make it possible to watch. That said, in handball, the problem is the opposite way. The women have a correct sized pitch and correct sized goals, whilst the men just look like giants and there's not really any room to do anything on the pitch for them. In skiing there's a difference in the distance females / males ski because of the natural physical differences, nobody is complaining there as it's understandable it is that way. I don't get why they want equality for something when going for that equality means their sport will never in the history of the world become watchable to anyone? This bugs me.

    MLS 2010

Also what Nixon just said, there's a few trophy players playing over there, but the rest are people that want to play football and aren't just playing it for the money due to the salary cap. You could see the players really, really, wanting it in the play-offs. It shone on their faces how much they wanted it. (LA didn't look like wanting it, though. Which pissed me off, but still. )

I think it's because it's like football, just... different. The league system and different football culture facinates me. Also gained my interest from earlier FM versions where I moved the US to Europe and competed in the CL with US teams.

They linking up with a club using Sporting in their name in the style of Real Salt Lake then, or?
  14. Faroes just rattled the bar. Piledriver of a freekick. What the fuck is a 'piledriver' anyway? A drill? A wrestling move? Same as where did a 'technical area' get it's name? Because the people in it 'technically' do nothing but watch/play football for a living? [/rant] The Technical Area is the area designated for the Technical Staff of the football clubs and/or the remaining referee staff. A piledriver in football terms is a powerful kick, it's name is derived from the actual pile driver machine which slams a pile into the ground with force. This meaning a piledriver in football is a footballer slamming the ball into/towards goal with extreme force.

    WC 2018

Would be massive, especially as the current young generation is not looking down on "soccer" and the MLS average attendances are getting higher season after season.

England '18 and US '22 please. No Russia or Qatar, fuck Russia and Qatar. It'll no doubt end up being Russia and Qatar.
  17. Wasn't particularly good for Fulham on any evidence that I saw last season. No better than Gosling I'd have thought. Have done very well for Norway and did when he was still in Norway. There's no doubt a player in there, he just doesn't get played. I'd not bring him in to remain a first choice player, mind. Just a short term fix for our right wing with him being a natural winger as he'd be cheap/available on loan and wants out of Fulham.
  18. Bjørn Helge Riise is looking to move to another English club in Jan and would be a pretty cheap option (or loan) for right wing until Barfa returns, imo.
  19. Norway manager Drillo publically announced that Bjørn Helge Riise need to change clubs in January or he won't play for Norway again until he's moved clubs.
  20. I was about to google this obscure Norwegian striker there, without the name actually sinking in Rubeus is fucking canny for our national team, mind. Wins all the headers. Gets a lot of calls against him just 'cause of the physical presence he has due to his size, mind.
