I dont think it does it adds to it if anything. Players looking to settle scores from a few games ago, the last result still fresh in the minds & pissing off the losing team. Nah, IMO it doesn't as there's blatantly no time to get fired up before the next match. The results being fresh in mind is nothing against wanting to settle the score from months ago and only having one chance left this season to do it. If they lose one, they know there's another coming in just a few days anyways. There's so much more glory and pain at stake for derbies in normal leagues because there's such a long time until next time.

Another thing devaluing the Old Firm is that they face each other like 10 fucking times each season.
-
Seriously, the Old Firm just pisses me off no end. It should be one of the most respected and historic derbies in world football, but I just can't bring myself to like them one bit. Both sets of fans are bunch of cretinous twats who more interested in hating each other over religion and politics than they are football - which is probably a good job, because if the OF game at the weekend is anything to go by then the football is of total wank quality. Old Firm is a pretty shite derby as well by all accounts, mainly because it's not about the football. So, like the majority of derbies, then. See edit. But yeah.

They want their football team to be better than the other, that's what it is about for them, nothing to do with politics.

There's a difference between free speech and being a cunt. They clearly did it to be cunts, not because they think it belongs to Argentina.

What other reason would a player have for leaving the country he was born in to play football? To play at a higher level. That's only applicable to people from small shit leagues like Sweden, Hungary and so on, though.

I think one of my first ever posts on this forum was me saying I thought we should sign Braaten back in 2006. Time flies.
-
Braaten is doing well for Toulouse and is regularly featured for Norway. Still haven't figured out how to keep his "on" button on all the time, mind. Goes from absolute fantastic in one match to absolute dross in the next and back to absolute fantastic again.

Slovenia aren't that bad tbf. Most of their wins have been against shit teams tbh, the only good team in ther qualifying group (the Czechs) they drew and lost against. Looking at their players one by one I just get angry that they're even at the WC. That said, now I've called them shit and useless they're bound to win the whole thing to make me look a right cock, mind.
-
You'll get out of your group, albeit maybe in second place. But Algerie and Slovenia ffs, they're even shitter than shit tbh.
-
Could've told you that before the match. Silly bet if you included them.
-
Atleast great when in this form. And free in the summer? Unless he signs a new contract, yeah.

Huseklepp is such a fucking sexy beast.

Slovakia are shit. Norway are sexy.

I think the US top is dreadful. Could do without the red collar and all the polychromy. But, yes, the sash is quite reminiscent of the shirt worn in 1950. I wonder if the design was chosen because the US is playing England in the World Cup. It was. And since I can't double quote, I'll just point out that the home jersey has been leaked, just not released yet. http://cdn.majorleaguesoccertalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/USA-world-cup-2010-nike-shirt-leaked.jpg Like that one much more than the Red one. The blue one is pretty decent though too. Same here. Seems like a lot of people don't, judging by here and BigSoccer. Quite like that, look forward to ordering one.

The record early start for the Norwegian season (13th March) may see postponed games because some clubs who does not have astroturf might not get their pitches ready in time. http://www.vg.no/uploaded/image/bilderigg/2010/02/04/1265292100561_136.jpg

Yeah, but it's a clear fail tbh as it just looks silly.

One hindrance is that the clock isn't stopped in Football, which could make it difficult to make sure the correct time is spent there and so on. I'm all for it if they find a way to execute it in a good way without making too many changes to the existing game. (i.e. starting to stop the clock to use this rule etc.)

The puck must cross the blue line before any player, basically. I think they are talking about field hockey. They're not. Unless you mean the quoted text in the OP, and not Towelie and the others.
