    Sticky fingers, Beren[/member]?
  2. £100 on Rosenborg, Molde & Ranheim @ 12.59 with a double the odds bonus at Unibet, so 25.18 £50 on the same three, but also Sandefjord and Sogndal @ 31.79

    Sunderland

Yet to meet anyone in the US that knows what Sunderland is. Not that it comes up organically, but when discussing football and me being a Newcastle fan, the conversations sometimes go to "who's your rivals" and when I say "Sunderland" is when the blank face arrives. They'd been expecting Man Utd/Liverpool or some club they've heard of I reckon. That said, I think most actually only really know of us due to Shearer, as it seems like some kind of name association game every time it comes up: "Who do you support?" "Newcastle" "Ahh, Alan Shearer."
  4. I liked OGS' response to "Shouldn't you dominate more against a team like Watford?" being "What do you mean "a team like Watford"? They are a good team. They are in the semis of the FA Cup and they have very good players. Possession today was 50-50 and they probably had more shots on target than us. I don't think you're giving Watford the respect they deserve."
  5. I'd honestly not sign a player that medically can't perform 100% if it's cold outside.
  6. Who knew? It's fairly common knowledge if you've ever searched for "celeb" NUFC fans tbh: In an interview with Total Guitar, Dave explained why his guitar pedal was 'adorned' with Newcastle United stickers. "Because they’re the best, ha ha!," he told the magazine. "I was on a rugby tour in 1995, got served breakfast in Wales, which had a Kellogg’s hologram of Alan Shearer scoring a header against Leeds United. I thought this guy looked pretty rad and he ended up being one of the best strikers of all time." He went nuts on IG when Rafa was appointed as well IIRC.
  7. David Moyes was under-qualified for the job, OGS is beyond that. Pep Guardiola had a year for Barcelona B before taking over Barcelona, but also had 13 years experience as a player at the club. OGS has 11 years experience as a Man Utd player, and managed their reserves for three years. Management wise he's very inexperienced for such a big club, but taking his career as whole into consideration, him as a fit for the club itself is perfect. Hence why I think it'll work out great at Man Utd, but that he'd fail spectacularly at any other current Prem club. Failed in the Premier League, ended up in a lower league for a while, then inexplicably given a job at a big club and did well in his first season. Remind you of anyone? Again, I'm literally saying I don't think he'd be a success at any other PL club Just that I think he's a great fit for Man Utd as they've been so fucked up by Ferguson staying there for decades, that taking the one former player that has built his entire manager persona on things he learnt from Ferguson will likely work out for them.

Let’s just say I’ll be very surprised if any comparison between Solskjaer and Guardiola becomes relevant. Already relevant, so I guess you're surprised. They're both good fits for their clubs due to their knowledge of the club culture, history and systems - even though their resumes say they shouldn't have been near the gig in the first place. There's no comparison between ability made here. Just circumstances.

  10. £440k a year at Molde, £1.6m a year if all bonus requirements were met.
  11. He's honestly a perfect fit for Man Utd. He'll stay for a decade. I don't think he'll fail there, anywhere else he'd probably get fucked in seconds, but not there.
  12. £11m total, £3m for the loan and £8m for the buy-out. Wow, that's massive in Norwegian football terms I'd imagine Yep. Biggest transfer fee between clubs in Norway is £2.3m for John Carew when he went from VÄlerenga to Rosenborg, biggest transfer fee for a player to transfer out of Norway is also John Carew, when he was sold to Valencia for £7.5m in 1999. OGS was the best paid person in Norwegian football out of all players/managers though, and he'd just signed a new deal before Man Utd came knocking.
  13. They want to start buying players I guess. Harder to sell a project if they don't know who the manager will be.

  15. I feel your pain. That's gutting. Out of the 23 matches available since Sunday in the EC qualifiers, only two of them had less than 1.5 goals Could've subbed that with basically any other match and won, jeesus
  16. If it makes you all feel any better, I was one goal away from winning £7227 from 12 games. 25 out of 26 goals in. Ireland - Georgia just couldn't fucking score more than 1.5. Absolute last match to finish on the coupon as well. Instead I'm down £100. Good times. So much for luck. As if I needed more reasons to hate Ireland.
  17. All in all that was fairly deserved. Absolute bullshit throwing it all away though, two horrid defensive errors.
  18. I mean, he's an absolute shitstain cunt, but the fluke 5th season on the whole probably lifts him a few spots on the list - if you look at positions and such - even if he's a putrid excuse for a human being.
  19. Nothing is better to bet on that international matches that matter (fuck friendlies), man. It's a free for all of free money.
  20. And now the penny finally drops. You got lucky to get where you did. It doesnt work. Nah, I'm doing it again asap. Of course there's luck, it's gambling. Last bet was a lot shitter than normal as well as I'd already withdrawn. How many bets in a row are you aiming for? 40+ On bet 13 on my new streak fwiw.
