Jussi has exactly the same weaknesses as Given and is having a bad season, bizarre choice. Same goes for Walcott who has shown nothing at Arsenal. Yeah, i doubt having the two quickest players in the Premier League up front would have any effect at all. Scrap that idea! There's no point in being quick if you don't know what to do with the ball. Walcott is a genuine pace merchant.

Really? If I was a Newcastle fan, I'd have a fit Ashton in the team ahead of any of your strikers bar Martins. I would have thought the only question mark is his ability to stay fit, not his ability in general. Ashton has been gash since he came back from his broken ankle. I wouldn't touch him.

Unfortunately yes i think it is. I think him and Willie McKay are looking for a nice fat signing on fee and pay rise, and as we know with McKay if he wants a move he will do anything to make it happen, no matter how disruptive. McKay will force Newcastles hand.

mmm Owen A target man preferably.
-
We're merely speculating about speculation. Why not say I? Sooner or later one of these story has got to be true if you think about it.
-
Because, although talented, he is a bit of a lazy tart, i can't see him being a success on the wing in a 442, he would have to track back and make tackles. Robert did well so it is possible i suppose, but then he could be a bit like Luque and just not fit in anywhere.
-
For £5m he would be worth a punt, could end up being a bargin. The problem would be where to play him though, there's no i can see him playing left wing for us, so surely it would have to be upfront, but then we are surely looking for a target man there to partner Owen/Martins.

We've made the mistake of buying players apparently proven in the premiership that have turned out rubbish aswell. Smith, Barton, Duff etc. It makes no difference to me whether they are from the premiership, la liga, serie a, or the bunesliga, all have the same amount of risk involved IMO.
-
Bar McGeady, Dunne(unrealistic), Bentley, and Shorey that is a depressing list of players. I'd rather take a punt of foreign players that ARE proven in other leagues.
-
A non champions league club paying a player over 100k a week is pure lunacy IMO. To me that should be a massive obstacle as he's not worth anywhere near that.
-
What about Owen though?
-
Jerome? Bullard? Are we still preparing for the championship here?!
-
Hopefully the men upstairs have no say in it and let Keegan do his job without interfering. If a 100k+ a week contract is going to be handed out i would expect the men upstairs to have a say.
-
2 games? He's scored 4 in 7. Fair enough he played well in the Boro game aswell. But still this isn't enough to make me change my mind, i'll need to see a prolonged run of form to make me forget the previous 2 and a half years.
-
Despite the last couple of games i stand by what i said. 2 games does make a season and i just don't see him being a long term success here. Disappointed to see Keegan is desperate to keep him, hopefully the men upstairs and/or Michael himself take a different view.
-
Even if you don't rate Taylor, to say Michael bloody Dawson is better than him is a bit harsh IMO.
-
Bare in mind it was only Fulham. Against Better more organized teams i think he would disappear.
-
Michael Dawson is absolute gash. Not a player we should buy for any price, and the £8m mentioned leads me to believe that someone has lost their marbles.
-
Because he's not very good anymore, defensively he is pretty gash and he is rated higher than he should be because of his hollywood shots, that very very occasionally go in.
-
I'm not interested in Brown or Riise. Brown has never been a better than mediocre player and isn't what we need, he needs to play next to a leader(like Rio) and we don't have one. Riise is a washed up top 4 player, i think we've learnt our lesson when it comes to them. I'd much rather we went for Shorey at LB.
-
He's pretty happy there by all accounts. I heard something about him signing a new contract.
-
Enrique had a decent enough game, well worth keeping for next season IMO.
-
Barton is utter gash. I've no idea why some were happy when we signed him.
-
C'MAAAN!! A win today would be gigantic.
