The final of the Polish cup was played the other day. Legia Warsaw won against Lech Poznan after penalties, immediately after the match there was a huge pitch invasion and all of the Legia fans went ballistic, destroying over 300 seats in the stadium during the celebration and in the end clashing with the police. In typical knee-jerk and incompetent manners the FA went on to ban fans from ALL games played in Poznan and Warsaw (2 of the 5 largest cities in Poland) for at least the next 2 league fixtures. I think it´s laughable that this will help stop hooliganism. The first Legia home game after the ban, check out the first few seconds then you can forward to about 1:30. Hundread of Legia fans gathered just outside the stadium chanting and singing so that the players inside could hear them. We really have some of the best but also some of the very worst football fans out there.

DORTMUND, Germany (AP) -- German media reports say Borussia Dortmund will hold a joint press conference with Nuri Sahin on Monday, when the Turkey midfielder will announce his departure to Real Madrid. The Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper says the Spanish club will pay 10€ million to trigger a release clause in Sahin's contract. Kicker reported Dortmund's chief executive, Hans-Joachim Watzke, as saying Thursday, "we wouldn't accept such clauses today.'' Sahin was an integral part in Dortmund's impressive run to the Bundesliga title. He made his league debut in 2005, when he became the youngest player to play and score in the Bundesliga, before spending the 2007/2008 season on loan at Dutch side Feyenoord. The reported release clause was included when Sahin extended his contract with Dortmund in 2009. A bit gutted. Think he could have played at least one more season with Dortmund, see what they could accomplish in next year´s champions league. Özil for 15m€, Sahin for 10€. That´s some crazy business.

Yeah had a belter against liverpool The entire team were terrible against Liverpool. I hold Williamson no more responsible for the defeat than Lovenkrands or Shola. I´d never hold a player more responsible than Shola. The defending leading to the penalty and second goal was absolutely pathetic though, as was his clearance for their first. Really contemplating whether I'm happy with him as our #2 central defender (maybe add a poll? Curious to see what people think).

It´s beyond belief that none of the odd 15 managers we´ve had in recent years has realized how shit he is and sold his ass. He must be ready to do something the managers wives aren´t willing to do.

People tend to remember Lucas for his first season in the league, much like Colo. Lucas is by no means better than Tiote but he isn't quite as bad as people make him out to be. I'm not sure about Maxi being any better than Jonas though. He's as average a player as they come. Well put

Can´t believe my luck really. Out of those 12.1m ticket application minimum must be 4-5m coming from Poland, so 4-5m applications for matches held in a stadium holding 50k and I manage to get two tickets for all of the group stage games (including the opening match itself). Really hope we get drawn against Germany, the atmosphere would be electric/murderous.
