  1. You only want us to buy two players? This is Newcastle, man. DLC and Keane would collide with each other on their debuts and be out for months. A fit Barton is becoming an oxymoron at this point.
  2. I'd like either Keane or Pavlyuchenko at this club very much. I hesitate to say next season as we are definitely not promoted, yet. Hate when people presume that. However, knowing Spurs they'll want more than 10 million pounds for both players. They are not happy selling a player unless they have robbed the other team blind. We probaly should steer clear.
  3. I like the look of Issiar Dia. Plays at AS Nancy. Quick little player that can play on the right or upfront.
  4. Nothing to do with that. Purely is based on numbers. UEFA uses a coefficient based on the performance of teams from that nation. Ukraine are an example of a league that has gained in the rankings. They're 7th now, right behind the five traditional powers and Russia.
  5. Wolfsburg and PSG (as per usual) Underachieving or s****? Usually I'd say they were just rubbish, but we play them next weekend. Don't want to tempt fate. Honestly, they're not great but they have more talent than the likes of Monaco, Auxerre, and Montpellier who are fighting for Europe and the title. Somehow between this year and last, Wolfsburg forgot how to defend.
  6. That's brilliant, man! Rubbish being in the championship. I can't even find our goals, yet. Still a 3-0 win does me just fine. Happy with the result, even if I still haven't seen anything of the game.
  7. I don't understand why people rubbish the Kez Man for claiming more than one naton. It's possible to have to have a heritage from a certain nation and be a citizan of another. Nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage.
  8. Just looking at livescore, both received red cards four minutes after receiving a yellow.
  9. In an ideal world, we wouldn't have any of this nonsense. It's an embarassment to football at all levels that someone like N'Zogbia could suit up for England. He has no connection with the place other than working there.
  10. 1-0 at home isn't a great result at all. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go out.
  11. Sweet finish from Ben Arfa. 2-1 Marseille. He was brilliant at Lille, definitely and looked decent the last ACN, but has generally been disappointing since getting his big money move. 3-1. Charles Kabore.
  12. Probaly something to do with him being disasterously bad at Lyon. Massive waste of money.
  13. That first leg against Alkmaar was absolutely brilliant. Shame about the second one though.
  14. I've just seen the Porto goals. Fabianski is terrible, man. Didn't even seem like Porto threatened other than the two goals they were gifted. In all honesty I feel like Sol should have dealt with that ball himself. All of that waiting made the situation awkward. Then again, that's what you deserve for starting Sol Campbell in a Champions League match. Wenger should be embarassed.
  15. Throwing around three match bans for bad tackles is a bit ridiculous, imo. Bans should only come in for excessively violent or dangerous conduct.
  16. Whereabouts are you from in B-more Yankee? Very nice city.
  17. Since when is the CL round of 16 spread over two weeks?
  18. I'm not sure that being thrust into the CL with an inferior set of players is necessarily beneficial. Lets just have the same four teams every year then. Nobody else even try. And forget the extra 20m quid or whatever it is, that's not beneficial at all really. I'm not sympathetic. If you want CL football football finish fourth or above in the league. If there is too much monotony, than introduce some revenue-sharing. Do not interfere with the sancity of the league. I don't think it would be beneficial for someone like Birimingham to finish 7th win the playoff and be in the CL. It would be interesting to see them sign more expensive players based on the expectation of new income, only to be knocked out in qualification becuase their low coefficient resulted in a bad draw.

  20. This idea is horrendous and a disgrace to football. The season has to mean something. A legitimate fight week in and week out will always be more exciting and interesting than some contrived playoff. We have cup football for that. Take this season for example. What are the likes of Aston Villa, Man City, and Tottenham fighting for? They aren't likely to fall out of 7th place and probaly can't catch 3rd. If there's one thing we don't need more of it is meaningless fixtures. Clubs earn their position on the pitch.
  21. Why so defeatist? Spurs probaly have the second best team left in the tournament.
  22. I love the way papers exaggerate this sort of thing. "6 ft 2 ins giant pummels helpless Craig Bellamy leaving him in a puddle of blood." Ridiculous.
  23. I think giving penalties for infringements outside the box is a ridiculous and stupid idea. I'd say the last man outside the box denies more clear goal scoring opportunities than 70% of shirt pulls, trips, handballs, etc that happen inside the box. Would have no problem with this being brought in one bit. And? Who gives a damn if it is cynical and prevents an opportunity. You get a yellow or red for that, it is not like there is no punishment. If it doesn't occur in the oenalty area, than it is not a penalty. That is really all there is to it, imo.
  24. It not a huge amount of money at all. No need to pander to the masses. Guthrie is grossly underpaid.
