Whatever became of Peter Foresburg. (sp.) I have vague memories of him.

O rly? http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Arts/Arts_/Pictures/2007/08/07/hitler460.jpg What's your point? The Germans have commited mass murder better than anyone else, tbh. I really haven't enjoyed the Premiership (or Serie A for that matter) much this year and have been watching alot more of Ligue 1 and Bundesliga, especially the former. Atmosphere in Germany is easily the best out of the leagues I watch. I don't have a vested interest in any teams (mostly just watch for players I like), but it's still a very very interesting league.

Jonas for free is probaly better. Bassong has been fantastic. He was a quite well-known talent for a few years before we signed him, so I was surprised that we got him for so cheap. Probaly a result of Metz going down, as this could not have done wonders for their finances. Don't think Coloccini has been all that bad in my opinion. Not what I'd had hoped for. (Hopefully he'll become more comfortable soon), but certainly no where near one of our worst signings. His fee is yet to be established correct? I've said it many times for me Gutierrez isn't half as good as people say he is the main reasoning being he hasn't provided or scored nearly enough goals for a player who plays as a Winger. We got Jonas for free under the Webster ruling, but Mallorca are basically suing for the 8 million pounds other clubs were willing to pay. We followed the rules though, so I can't see them winning anything. Jonas hasn't provided enough in terms of production, but I'm in the camp of people who thinks that isn't his fault. He's been fine when playing with the "good" strikers and when he had some freedom. Lately he's been recognised as our only threat and pretty much double teamed the enitre match.

How often have we seen Viduka and Martins play together in a 4-4-2? I don't think I can ever remember this occuring. -

LOL I'm being serious, Jonas plays from too deep to effectively link up with Lovenkrands, and has little end product to compensate. You're talking like we have options. And you honestly think we should play Martins from the Bench? Lovenkrands subject to maintaining West Brom form is an upgrade on Martins imho. You're almost always completely wrong. Sorry, but saying Lovenkrands is better than Martins because he scored a rebounded goal against West Brom is a bit daft to be honest. Same with the Jonas comment, he's going to be crucial to us staying up based on the mayhem and forward movement he causes alone. I'd say he was better for the current NUFC team even if he hadn't scored. Different players are good for differen types of teams, and I think Lovenkrands is raising the game of the five midfielders/attackers surrounding him, making him better for the team we've got. Martins is a complete individual, and Jonas is more suited to a different type of team. I'd love to spend time explaining myself, but I'm getting ready to go out. Someone PM me in 24 hrs if I haven't produced an uber-post on this. Duff was better than usual on Saturday, but everyone else performed at a level you would expect them to. Butt, Nolan, and Shola were their normal selves. If their games were raised at all, it was mostly due to Abdoulaye Meite and Leon Barnett. -

Martins subject to maintaining Spurs forum is an upgrade on pretty much everyone in the goddamn world. I'm just pointing out how ridiculous it is to judge someone off of one match. Ryan Taylor subject to maintaining form against Newcastle is a significant upgrade on Juninho. I think Oba and Peter are both good players that we should keep, esp. when Owen leaves in the summer. They both will play significant parts in our run in and hopefully next year as well. -

So we should bench our two best attacking players because we brought in someone else who's played well in one game? -
Wait...What was the red card for? I was watching the basketball. Looks like he just collided with the keeper.

Thabeet? Sven looks like he doesn't care if he stays or goes. He's f***ed his way through Mexico already. Ya, Thabeet. I actually feel bad for him when I see him walking around. Most people don't past his waste ffs. My Mexican friend was telling me that Sven is only there to make a quick buck. He'll fail with Mexico and just go back to a cozy job in Europe with a few million pesos in his pocket. Basically that he doesn't give a f***.

1-0 US. Weak goal to concede.
-
Two top class keepers in this fixture. Love to have either of them here.

Damn I wish I was 7 foot 4. UCONN's best player and I have the exact same skill set, but he is a top NBA prospect since he is damn near a foot taller than me. Hate genetics man. I think Mexico are going to win this btw. They are more dangerous in the final third and the atmosphere isn't that intimidating. As I say this US nearly score
-
I'm switching between the UCONN game and the US-Mex match. Hockey players make footballers look like women by the way.
-
So Americans tell me, who the f*** is this Ching fellow. I try to half follow your team, and all of a sudden you start some person I've never heard of in a major match.
-
I think 2006 was the blip on the map personally. I think 2002 and 2008 Euro are closer to what we will see in 2010. I think we will see some new teams make it to the quarters, semis, final, etc.

Jonas's goal should have been saved. Mandanda is fantastic for Marseille, but he was poor for France today.

Hughton and Calderwood 'will continue to take charge of first team'
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to jimmymag's topic in Football
there was less pressure earlier in the season, now we're in the middle of a relegation battle where a couple of wrong decisions could condemn us. er...the first time round, Keegan had quit, Ashley was selling, and the fans were protesting. Meanwhile, the players were shell shocked. -

Segun Oluwaniyi replied to jimmymag's topic in Football
I don't think there will be any drop off at all. I don't know why people are so quick to dismiss Hughton because of three matches during the most chaotic times in this club's recent history. I mean goodness, he wasn't just thrown into the deep end, he was thrown into the Marianas Trench. However, this time around, the club are significantly more stable (not saying much, but still). I don't think this really changes much. -
This on any of the American channels, Mike?

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

I hope Xisco is back in the fold now. We should at least see if he has the ability before shipping him off at a loss. -

Goodbye Charlie. You had potential young man, to be the best French player to grace this club along with Laurent Robert. Instead, you're not even the best Congolese. Watch out Charlie, because quite soon, people will stop waiting for you, stop following you. You'll just be that stupid French kid that couldn't lay his head to rest. -
JFK: I want you to play in the reserves tonight Xisco: qué? JFK (louder): I want you to play in the reserves tonight Xisco: qué? JFK (louder again): I want you to play in the reserves tonight Xisco: qué? JFK (now shouting): I want you to play in the bloody reserves tonight Xisco: qué? JFK (there's a vein throbbing in his forehead by now & his left eye is twitching): Reservos! You play in reserves! Tonight! Xisco: qué?    That is definitely the most likely course of events.
