  1. Western Brough? Kim was gash today, Fortuné was pretty good, used his body well. You been on the sauce today ? Kim is a perfectly good player who'd be doing much better in the Prem if Mowbray didn't insist on playing him either on the wing or as a holding midfielder. Needs to be given freedom to play right behind the strikers. Was doing very well for the first couple of games when he was played in the right position. Struggling because he's been pushed down the pecking order by Koren and Morrisson after coming back from injury. He was absolutely unstoppable when he was playing in Korea, should be good enough to make the squad in a mid~low table Premiership team. Koren is a decent player, plays it easy, decent shot on him. Remember him being Lillestroms stand out player when we played them in the Inter-cocopops cup n all. Kim looks too lightweight for the Prem You don't need to be huge to play attacking midfielder. He's got the skill/eye for a pass to be effective. I'm just baffled as to why Mowbray is playing him in the holding role. Might as well not play him at all. I'll admit when the commentator said West Brom were playing 4-4-1-1, I was surpirsed to see that the man in the whole was Morrison and not Kim. Seems that's exactly the role you'd want him playing.
  2. Fair enough; Ameobi to bundle in from being 10 yards offside? I wish I could laugh about that incident I sit next to an Everton fan at work, love winding him up about that. I remember that happening in slow motion. Shola was just as stunned as everyone else.
  3. What? It was definitely Boro amd West Brom in my head when I was typing. Western Brough? Kim was gash today, Fortuné was pretty good, used his body well. You been on the sauce today ? Fortune has been s*** his whole career. Not worth anything in France. Not changing my opinion from one match.
  4. I'd definitely how Johnson from Brough. I like Kim and Miller from Western Brough. Definitely take Belhadj, Traore from Portsmouth. (Shame all their other good players are old/left). Have Samba from Blackburn as well. (In addition to all the players Nixon said excluding Roberts and Fortune, who are terrible) Obviously this is excluding us. We are very much still in the relegation danger zone.
  5. One of the things that really annoys me about the past two seasons. In that game Owen, Oba, and Fat Aussie Man were just fantastic. All three of them. Currently none of them are available for selection. Just goes back to the injuries we always seem to have though.
  6. NUFC: Shaka Hislop. I've always loved this guy. Can't even explain why. I loved it when he played for Newcastle, and I've followed his career since he left, from West Ham to the ESPN analyst desk. Others: "King" Nwankwo "Papilo" Kanu. Easily my favorite footballer. It's not even close. I love his skill and him being nonchalant, and always smiling. Always been a warrior for Nigeria as well. I always felt an affinity to him as well beause growing up (and even today), I'm always one of the tallest and most awkward players on the pitch. I always thought, Kanu is tall and has clown feet, I can be a professional footballer too. Ronaldo (Brazil): Best footballer I've ever seen. Incredible talent and he walways just seemed like a nice person. I thought instead of being arrogant, he was just thankful for the talent he had been given.
  7. Yeah, I'd say Ash4s statement is nonsense considering we are always top of the injury list. To be fair though, Arsenal area team that are always performing below their level due to injuries.
  8. I agree entirely, I wish Adebayor was sold in the summer when hem big bids came in tbh. Arsenal's strikeforce is weak. van Persie and Sheyi are the only goal scorers in that team and Sheyi is erratic at best. Arsenal don't even really use wingers, so that is not helpful either. Nasri has a good shot, but is stuck on the wing. Fabregas is not a scrorer, Denilson is useless. Admittedly they are missing Rosicky and Eduardo who can both put the ball in the back of the net, but both these players wil struggle to make an impact until next season. If Arsenal want some CL football next year, they need to find a source of goals other than RVP (who is brilliant) and Sheyi (who is average).
  9. Zenit were definitely the culprits here. Arshavin wanted to leave pretty much immediately after Zenit won the UEFA cup. Then, he went and had a great Euro and Zent decided to hold everyone to ransom, even though the player clearly wanted bigger better things.
  10. I am glad Joe didn't try to say "Obafemi" otherwise we'd have another disgruntled, unsettled player on our hands. Obladee, Oblado, Obuymeanotherbottleofwhiskeyplease. Usually calls him 'Obi' doesn't he? I don't know why, but many British announcers seem to think his name is "Obi Martins". I really can't understamd how or why. Are they confusing him with the Obi at Chelsea?
  11. Good chance Arshavin will push Eboue to the bench, which is always a poitive for Arsenal.
  12. Much as the deal annoys me, Andrei deserves the chance to play in a major European league, so I'm glad he's getting it.
  13. Shooting power is one of those things that takes good technique but is also partly genetic. Some players can train as hard as they want and practice and learn the technique every day but just will not have the physical ability to shoot as hard as some other players.
  14. English (Premiership) clubs in general have been f***** with the deadline for several years now. I really don't understand why the rules are different.
  15. He's developed us a healthy £8million fee if nothing else. If we can say that about our 'superior' players then we are better than I thought. Of course a manager will pay more for a 22 year old with "potential" than a 29 year old who's at the end of his rope. That's what Wenger does. Teams like Stoke and Fulham buy players at the end of their rope. How do Nolan and Lovenkrands fit into this scenario? Loverkrands....not yet 30...only here till May Nolan....26...younger than Arshavin who Arsenal bought today. I rest my case. Wait What? What do you mean? I'm honestly confused to what your point is. You included Nolan and Arshavin in the same sentence using Nolan's age as a positive. Are you serious? Oh well yeah, that's a ridiculous comparison You were saying that managers like Wenger only pays for young players and the likes of Fulham and Stoke take players taht are past it. You used Nolan as an example of a player that was past it. I am saying that Nolan is younger than the only player Wenger bought today. I don't think he is past it.
  16. I think folks need to get off the Smith-smashing bandwagon. Most folks (including myself) thought Shola was done, but he's popped up with some big performances this year. We thought Carrol was useless, but he's fought well enough to change our minds.
