In case there's anyone out there who still doesn't understand...
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to indi's topic in Football
One of my favorite "completely legal" places to watch matches online has just posted this message on their homepage: "Because of pending legal proceedings, _____ has removed all links in the following competions: Elitserien - SM-Liga - NHL - Swedish Allsvenskan - Italian Serie A - English Premier League - Dutch Eredivisie. Once a judgment has been given, we will notify you of the outcome." This is terrible, it really is. I'll find another "completely legal" way of watching football matches, but still it's not a good development. -
Butt is a ridiculous exception though. I'd take any starting midfielder from any team in the top six leagues in Europe (England, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Russia) over the tragedy that is Nicky Butt. I really would. I do think there are many better DM's in the world than Veloso who could be bought for 10 million pounds.

yep this is what i heard too. Loads of potential but not living up to it does that not apply to every nigerian player, ever? Well that's a bloody ridiculous statement. And as for this Sunday Stephen, he's Spanish (for the moment anyway) If this guy ever gets his act together, I think he is a very similar player to Lassana Diarra. He has been groomed as DM, but I don't think he has the discipline or the mentality for this role. He's quite quick is a pretty powerful runner. Also, he has good dribbling and decent passing ability. At his best when he is surging forward. If he plays to his full capabilities than he's absolutely perfect for the Premiership, but he has not been doing that of late.

mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif Being fair KD, he was good tonight I thought, I don't rate the two mentioned either really. I think it's time to put a bid in for Kranjcar. Have you seen Lennon this season? he's been immense. When Kaka says that Pennant is a better "footballer" then him, i somewhat see his point (altough i completely disagree with it), but his point becomes void when he also states that he's also a better "footballer" then Milner. By using the term footballer, i assumed he was basing his judgement on technique alone but then Milner is twice the player Pennant is, when it comes to that. I am now 100% convinced you don't even watch football games. Milner better technique than Jermaine Pennant. God have mercy on you for such profanity! That is a shcocking statement. Milner has been superb the last 3 or 4 games for us. Read into that what you will. Lennon has been superb for us this whole season but Kaka says we need to "watch what they do on the field" instead of playing Fifa. Going by the FACT that Pennant has done diddly squat for a long time now, im pretty sure Kaka is playing Fifa right now. KD let me be very honest with you. You seem to take things too personally and feel this need to be super loyal to anything Tottenham which is cool up to a certain point. I'm not saying Lennon is useless and neither am I saying he hasn't been good for you. Pennant has had his issues but when he is actually on that pitch playing he is better than both Lennon and Milner in my opinion and has far more to his game than both. I support Newcastle United right, but I wouldn't argue that Nicky Butt was half decent because he's s***. So is Alan Smith, so is Duff ,etc etc. Facts are facts. Except Jermaine Pennant is s***.

Pennant is getting way too much credit here. He's a 26 year old footballer who accomplished literally nothing in his career. Despite being "better" than Lennon and Milner he has done a significant amount less than these younger players.

BBC described it as a typical Heskey goal, funny he hardly ever scores. Pompey were having the run of play, Villa send a long ball up. Agbonlahor manages to win a header over Campbell and Heskey is through.
-
I'm loving this Kanu and Crouch partnership. 6 foot 5 and 6 foot 7. The two gangliest players in the history of football. Hope Villa get beat by the way. I know it's a nice story, but I don't really think they are an exceptional team.

This. The thing is I like Tevez, but Saviola is a better goal scorer and much more polished overall. Tevez is quality but sometimes has a tendency to slip into a bit of a captain caveman mode. Too much cowabunga and not enough guapa. What are you basing this on, btw. Tevez has consistantly created goals and danger ever since he caught fire with West Ham a few seasons back. During the same period of time, Saviola has gathered splinters in his arse. Maybe 5 years ago when Saviola was at Barca and Tevez was at Boca Juniors you could claim this, but not now.

What motivation would Veloso have to come to Bolton? It's like sending Kevin Davies off to Barcelona. Seems illogical.

I think it's more to do with them being dso obscene with their offers.I mean lord they're offering 4 times the world record fee and double the world's top wages. Their actions have taken this insanity to a whole new level. If they continue in this fashion, they will either cause aserious economic downfall in football, or a massive change in rules and regulations by Fifa or Uefa.
-
Because he can answer part of the midfield puzzle, and he's young, and it's not as though he will have a high transfer fee or wages. How can he answer anything if he doesn't play again this season? I'm assuming the club will be able to sort him out before May. Even if not though, I don't see the problem in bringinghim here. There's obviously a worst case scenario here, but also the chance that we will have found a real player. I just think it's worth the risk.

Nothing wrong with the statements, Lien. Rafa has to appease Liverpool's rabid supporters. Your boys came for a draw, tey got it. Your team earned a replay infront of their own supporters. This is a good accomplishment. The real question is: Will Everton play to win at Goodison?

Harper's been adequate and Krul's looked fine when called upon. I would miss Given alot, as he's been synonymous with the club since I was in primary school, but I think we have cover for him. Michael Johnson, Onouha, and Ebondo are all players I'd like to have at this club. I know those boys have talent, and I know all of them could come in here and play for several years. So it would not be too disappointing. Those boys+Lovenkrands (and hopefully a buy with the Given cash) and several youngstes would make this a pretty good window in my opinion.

would love him here. Me too, would be amazing. Was the first person we should have turned to when keegan left. we would be in a completely different situation right now if he had been brought in. Owen would more than likely have re-signed, more players would be interested in joining us and might well have already done that. Given our current situation he would be a great choice to take over in the summer, there will be few better options available. He'd of been my 3rd choice behind Deschamps and Zico. Deschamps becasue he's young talented knows Wise and will have a good grasp of the market, and Zico becasue he's used to working in this type of set up, has a decent coaching record and is a huge name in the game both like playing attacking football. Houllier might actually appeal to Ashley as he might fit the system quite well and is also a 'name' that might pacify the fans for a bit. Almost dare to dream it might happen! :'( please dont do this. i cant take the pain! ....FWIW, I cant believe we keep overlooking Louis van Gaal. He's exactly what we need. Who's overlooking who?

It wasn't that long ago Germany wouldn't have any Black players in their squad they seem to have adopted a much more multi-ethnic attitude in recent years in regards to the picking of their squad good to see though not sure race and nationality has ever been so healthy in football. That reminds me - what's Odonkor up to? He looked as fast as anything, decent right winger in the few times I saw him for Germany. (Just signed him in PES too....) only good in PES Odonkor is terrible. An awful player. All he has is pace. No control, can't cross, can't shoot and generally can't really do anything that involves striking a ball well. Aaron Lennon on a bad day is him on a fantastic day. Amazed he's played in a WC semifinal.
-
Dirt cheap compared to Brucey's valuation of him. In today's market that's a terribly low price. Is he out of contract in June? I can't see why else he's been allowed to leave for so little.
-
Id doubt it as we would have to sell them at a cut price as they wont want to play in the championship Darren Bent

Which I don't get - are they really saying that an appreciable number of people would watch a 3pm KO on TV that they would otherwise have gone to? - if thats the case why are the crowds for televised games not that badly affected. Even worse is the notion that someone would stop in and watch a team other than their own rather than go to a game. Don't ask me. It's been in place for donkey's years. Will never understand. In America, every local team match is shown live on television. I know Television in both countries in very different (spent considerable amounts of time in both), but if the only reason people are going to matches is because they can't watch them on the box, then said club needs to improve its product and matchday experience. I agree that European leagues should sell legal streams online. Watching online is much more convenient for some people. I am a student studying in a foreign country. How else am I supposed to watch Newcastle and Marseille in my dormitory? I certainly wouldn't mind paying a bit of money for good quality and easy access. Probaly would prefer it to watching dodgy streams on sites from Iraq. (Although the free streams have become more numerous and better quality recently tbh)
