Napoli were rubbish over the course of both legs and deserve to go out. Milan are horrendous, but Maignan and Leao are brilliant players. They will play the same way the rest of the competition, so it will be up to the other sides to break them down.

Wow. Atrocious defending for all four goals. Great composure from young Isak, though. -

He's onside! -
I don't know about panic, he should have been sacked months ago.

Italy just lack talent overall. If you watch Serie A, none of the best attacking players on the big teams are Italian, except for maybe Zaccagni and Immobile on Lazio, who are a level below the top. Maybe Chiesa, but his knees cannot be relied upon. Even the defense is not strong, tbh.
-
I worry for Isak if he will just be a lone striker, tbh. This boy has serious talent and will score/assist regularly, but does not lead the line well.
-
Botman did not even look up at all ffs, just played the ball blind. Very poor. Dennis is a selfish idiot. Annoying they have allowed him to score.

I value you it more than the League Cup, tbh, and I would have been ecstatic if NUFC won that. Roma were very happy to win last season.
-
I would really hope it is Napoli or Benfica in the Final, because both Milan sides are truly quite rubbish, tbh. Napoli are comfortably the best team on their side of the draw, but none of those players are used to this level of pressure. Di Lorenzo played in the EURO final, but for the rest of the players, these are easily the biggest matches of their careers. Still, an incredible opportunity for glory.

I am not one of these people that enjoys judging leagues simply based on results in these competitions, but the 10-0 aggregate loss for Bundesliga over the last two nights is frankly embarrassing. Five goals for Nigerian strikers across three European matches tonight. Unnecessary amount of talent in this one position.

Outside of the FA Cup victory, Leicester have been poor since the return from pandemic stoppage, tbh. They've been propped up by runs of form from Maddison, Vardy, Iheanacho, and Barnes at different times, but their defending has been disgraceful for a long time now. Rodgers will have fully earned it if he goes.

I entirely agree about the last point, tbf . I don't understand how players can just come out and say these things. Victor should be enjoying the moment, playing for one of the most exciting teams in the world (likely accompanied by club and individual silverware), and letting his agent handle his desire for an English move. I suppose the difference is that Europeans accept this part of the sport. He'll still be cheered next time he walks out at the Maradona. I cannot imagine the reaction if this was done in American sports.

Tbf, playing in the Premier League was the dream of the vast majority of Nigerian young footballers, well before the last few years. For my generation and younger, it is very rare to care about the destitute local league, especially for someone like him, growing up in Lagos. Premiership has almost always had the best African players and almost always been the most readily available even to those with lower income. Osimhen idolised Drogba and definitely supported Chelsea. Africans have always had a preference for this league. The amount of South Americans and Europeans from strong leagues who now dream of the league is more of a new development.

I cannot believe that there would exist a day in this life when I would be envious of Mike. Congratulations Oga on your homecoming! Need to rectify this as soon as possible and get to a match at SJP, was actually in London for the Final, but no ticket in hand. It warms a man's soul to see and hear of this group of NUFC supporters chopping life in unison, despite the poor result on the day. It is mad to think how many minutes, hours, days, and years we have spent posting rubbish on different iterations of this site, really; it will be a beautiful day when all of us are given the reward of seeing this club lift silverware once again.

The rules and performance of VAR in England seem to change at random.

There are all manner of back and forth reports about this now. I apologise if I spread false information in regards to this earlier; was not intentional. I will just say my prayers are that he is alive and well and leave it at that. The situation is understandably very fluid and chaotic.

Apparently Atsu has been found alive and injured.

There is no way VAR can possibly tell if this ball is entirely out. -
I just want my boy Kelechi to go to a club that wants him. Wasting his prime years on Leicester's bench for a manager who is an enemy of progress, it is a waste of talent.

I'm meant to be transiting USA to Nigeria that weekend. Currently looking into if I can spend 2 or 3 days in London instead of going direct/find tickets for the final, but it seems quite difficult in terms of logistics and price. I've never managed to travel north of Liverpool during my time in England, and hence have never seen NUFC play. This final would be a wonderful way to rectify that.

Mbappe just had a penalty saved against Montpellier, which was made to be retaken as the keeper was off his line. The second penalty was then saved again off the post, and he subsequently missed the open net off the rebound. Tough start for him.

This boy has never looked the part when I have seen him for the national team, tbh. He reminds me of myself on the pitch, just seems slow of both foot and mind for the modern game. However, he's constantly scored for Genk, can clearly finish, and as probably the tallest player in the league, will be a threat aerially at least. Will be interested to see how he does.

PSG have each of the best players from arguably the three best football nations on Earth in their team and are still not good.
