  1. Replace "cursed" with "s****" & there you have it.
  2. you forgot john Barnes I didn't, I was going to include him but in comparison he did infinitely better than that lot. And yes, John Barnes was fat & well passed it! and those others werent past it ? and john barnes owed us nowt. Errrrrrrrrrm - I was naming players who had won things, who were household names & came up here & took the proverbial. They were pioneers of other piss takers who were to follow. John Barnes finished as joint top goal scorer (albeit with only 7) in 97/98 (I think). John Barnes was not included in the list. ah get you now, sorry about that,my fault for assuming they would be obscure s*** players who we'd forgotten about. I thought I'd give the title a twist with my list; and some fairly well known players had been mentioned. Here's 4 more that weren't so obscure that you wouldn't remember them but really were crap: Ralph Callachan Mike Larnach Glyn Hodges Rob McDonald oh & how about Wayne Ferraday (he had a better game on The Masters Football the other day than he ever did for us). Someone said Darren Jackson; he was young & decent in a poor team.

    Want Diouf?

Hope it is not true. We need to be looking at a much better quality of player. And that is without saying what a truly horrible individual he is or mentioning his antics up here last year. He could teach Lee Bowyer how to sneer.

    Kanoute

No thanks. Plays when he wants to; we already have Viduka so we don't need another of that ilk. I don't see us spending big money on a striker unless Owen or Martins goes (although I'd like to see us go for Gudjonsen). Sam needs to make in rounds with the defence.
  8. By all accounts he's signing for WH for 17M & 75k per week. Silly money.
  9. IMO Torres is overrated & wouldn't come here anyway. Go get Gudjonsen.
  10. Does anyone have that game on DVD?
  11. Alastair Brownlee on Century is pure class. His commentary during the Uefa Cup run is legend. Click below if you haven't heard it before. Pity he supports the Smoggies as we need a commentator like that. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/galleries/tm_headline=boro-duo-up-for-gong&method=full&objectid=17918965&siteid=109975-name_page.html
  12. Sadly, he doesn't want to be here & Sam has already said he must have players who want to play for the shirt. If (it's a bigger if than some may think) we can get anyone to meet the 9M & agree to his wages the we get rid. He must have spent more minutes playing for England than he has for us.
  13. What a complete twat he really is. And what on earth is he bringing Roeder in on it? Souness being shit had nowt to do with Roeder & he had a stack more cash to splash.
  14. Barton is entitled to the money. It may be a bit unsavoury; but the whole wages/ payments to players/ agents is unsavoury. City are clearly hoping that Barton forgoes the money or that we pay it. Would you give up on 300k without a bit of a fight or expect your new employer to give it to you (in addition to whatever signing on fee he is already getting)? I would hope that the PL could intervene if this isn't resolved soon. I can't see City have a leg to stand on.
  15. I'd double check with TOFFS but they certainly used to be.
  16. Generall good quality, have owned a White England '66 shirt for a few years, machine wash it & it is still in good nick. I also had a Newcastle "Hughie Gallagher" shirt with the ties on the neck. That wasn't so good as the black faded fairly quickly (but then again I did machine wash it).
  17. Was anyone here part of the 25,989 that saw his goal that saved the day? I was right in line with shot in it went what a goal. Gallowgate, almost in line from where he hit the shot - flew in - pandemodium Were you in the Scoreboard quite far back, but near The Corner. That's where I was when the ball hit the net, I was near the front 30 seconds later. :bounce: :bounce: I was almost in line with where the 18 yard lines goes outwards from the by-line (Old Stand side of the Gallowgate). I was about 3/4 of the way back. Those who were there will never forget it.

  19. Sam could be a politician. I am hugely impressed with what he has had to say. Let's hope he can deliver on the field.
  20. There is quite a bit of difference between 8.5M to 7M & then the stock exchange confirm it is 6.5M plus 500k on appearances - still I don't suppose we will be missing the odd million or so in the near future.
  21. I'd rather have Luque back on the wing................................................................................................
