Can't be arsed to check the thread but anyone mentioned the rumour that Pardew owes a huge hunk of cash to the casino Llambias ran. Put 2 & 2 together and if you get 5 Pardew's wages then helps repay the debt and if he gets sacked then the compensation offsets the debt. Sounds bloody crazy to me and you'd like to think that a 5.5 contract for an unproven manager is an inspired football decision; but that bollocks right?
-
If Pardew is the new manager and if he is introduced to the crowd we should just all turn our backs to him. No booing please, no cheering on the new man; turn your back, Sky will love it and it gets the point across.
-
May have been posted - Alan Brazil said he was in a restaurant last week and Pardew was having lunch with Llambiarse's son. Not looking good.

Wolfie Smith
-
Can the PL tell him to sell up as he's proven without doubt that's he's failed the fit and proper person test?
-
This isn't Pardew's doing. Support whoever comes in; just make damn sure Ashley remains the target.
-
I hope a proper club give him a chance; you'll remain an honoury Geordie & should never have to buy a drink up here if you can stomach coming up for a visit. Adult; you can fuck right off.
-
Any team with Shola and Sol starting with Smith as your midfield option, replacing Guthrie, should bite your hand off for 17th. I hope Tiote has loyalty and an Agent in a million; 'cos if I were his Agent I'd be touting him already.
-
Chelsea were there for the taking, but we sat back, let them get comfortable and we were second best after that. Shola had an absolute shocker, Routelege wouldn't take on his man and we became very tired mid way through the second half. Hughton should have have made 2 substitutions with 20 mins to go as we were treading water. If they'd had either Essien or Lampard we would have been ripped to shreds.
-
His final ball is usually very poor and he ain't a goal scoring winger either. He canspend a game looking ok but if you analyse it you will come to the conclusion that he didn't actually do anything. IMO he isn't good enough needs to be replaced. Ocassionally going past a couple of players and over hitting a cross gets you no where.
-
Not saying we rely heavily on Tiote and Barton but fuck me we rely heavily on Tiote and Barton. I expected us to lose but that kind of defeat to a team that didn't have to play well takes me back 2 years. Our back up players are worryingly poor.
-
Chelsea central defense has been terrible Sunderland should be out of sight
-
We played ok today, could have won on another day. Can't understand the fuckwits who booed them off; wankers.
-
I had nearly forgotten how much I dislike Fat Sam and that brand of football. It was worse than Stoke. They had a plan and they beat us but had we have won I'd still be saying the same. Fucking awful.
-
Nightmare game; move on.
-
Several Arsenal fans came over after match and to a man they said we deserved it. Pity the train back decided it didn't want to close the doors n we ended up on another train with the loudest fuckwit on it. Embarrassing tbh.
-
Still yes, I think we'll finish top half but the depth of the squad is a worry.
-
On the train back now just passed the emirates let's all laugh at arsenal

Absolutely immense today; he was harshly booked early on yet still managed to run the game. Superb.

I was in the Clock Stand and loved it. I was in the Fulwell, they all thought Shaun Elliott was going to save them...............................
-
Sat in the Clock Stand with my then Fiancee (a mackem) telling her that he is going to score, the he was O'Brien, the score was 2-1 and I couldn't do anything but sit on my hands. Also remember a game where we battered them at Roker only for Stan Cummins to score. We were in the main stand paddock nearest the Fulwell and I swear it must have been 1/3 full of Mags. My best mate is a Mackem and we stood together in the Gallowgate for the Play Off semi final. He left at half time as he couldn't bear not being able to shout. I stood beside him as Tony Cascarino put them into the 3rd Division - I managed to stay the whole match.

Hope they use the result to make sure Sunday comes good. Despite the teams put out (Arsenal's was far better than our's) they will still be a little deflated; more so given how the goals were conceded - all were avoidable - own goal/ offside & foul/ Guthrie & lastly a pass meant for someone else (and poor marking). Disappointed that Barton saw fit to pick up a needless booking. I fear that Routlege may be on a FA charge for unnecessary roughing on Eboue who couldn't handle Routelege's physical approach to the game, Wenger looked furious about the lack of protection from the ref. Ranger on the other hand must be a Weeble.
-
Yes, it really depends who the injuries are. Enrique, Carroll or Jonas would be disastrous obviously. We have done well to cope with the players we've had out so far though. If we lost Tiote, Barton n Carroll or any 2 of them I'd snap your hand off for 17th. At some point they'll all get suspended n Carroll may yet get himself a holiday at HMS.

Absolutely, one or 2 key injuries and we'd be knacked.
