  1. Totally agree. Thats why he'll always find a job. If he gets sacked by Blackburn (and paid off) he'll get the job at somewhere like Wigan or Cardiff and he'll be joining in with the laughter on this forum.
  2. Even if we get nothing from it pointswise we need to keep our goal difference in reasonable shape, it could well count for quite a lot at the end of the season. The GD was looking good until that tanking by Bolton, so a narrow loss on Sunday would not be a complete disaster. Negative thinking I know but just trying to be pragmatic I guess.....

    Harry Redknapp

Not sure about the age point either but under Redknapp players who have a record of under-performing have started to make a meaningful contribution. I'm thinking of players like Kaboul, Lennon, Bale and Huddlestone. Even Gomes (who in the past was nothing short of disastrous) has had some good games although he still looks like a rick waiting to happen. Also I can only think of Darren Bent who went nowhere or backwards under Arry. I don't like but he's a good manager imo.
  4. Happy days - flew in to watch that Charlton match, turned out to be the first game that had been postponed for Christ knows how long (have there been any since?). Had a good night on the town then did the stadium tour the next day (you've got to use the time like), Owen got badly crocked v Spurs about 3 days later not that it matters now, but it seemed to at the time.
  5. They have handed out bans to big club players before - didn't Rio get a 4 match ban (including 1 for a frivolous appeal) so I'm not sure the favouring big clubs argument has much to it. The Huddlestone decision is more likely to be down to incompetence tbh.
  6. Someone mentioned the goal against Reading, in truth he ran the show and was virtually unplayable for the whole match. Bit like Bowyer was in a home match v Spurs (anyone else remember that game?) but, as with Bowyer it didn't happen often enough. Like I said earlier even when Emre was fIt there were too many games when he didn't make any impact. I really couldn't fault his effort though, there was never any question that he was fully committed to the cause.
  7. Campbell and Saylor is a luxurious option, not so long ago we would have been looking at Ramage and Huntington.
  8. the difference seems to be that all three of the offences by our players were out of the ordinary. a punch, an elbow in the face and a body check/head butt. the message from the F.A. is clearly that if you want to hurt someone, make it look like you're trying to tackle them. I'd love to see points deductions for blatantly dangerous tackles and decisions based retrospectively, regardless of whether the referee saw it or not. Obviously its not a feasible idea and the dispension of justice would be as flawed as it is now, but something that hits where it counts is needed.
  9. The whole thing makes you want to kill someone tbh. Even if De Jong got banned it wouldn't affect Man City much - but it wouldn't get Ben Arfa back, and his loss is a huge blow to us . Its like when Cattermole did Habib Beye in the 08/09 season, it had a big impact on us and I can't even remember if Cattermole got a card and it made no difference to us if he did, the damage he'd caused to our squad was huge. Whereas after the "hideous offences" committed by our players neither Pedersen nor Elmander will even miss a match through injury as a result of the assaults on their person. Apologies - that's a rant and I know it.
  10. Emre was last year's player of the season in the Turkish league. Clearly a good player but I was never sure he really suited the Premiership. He was combative enough and good on the ball but too many matches seemed to pass by without him making any impact, and of course his fitness record was rank.

    Harry Redknapp

Redknapp doesn't run the finances at Spurs, Levy will tell him who's going and that will be that.
  12. Got no problem with a Saylor Campbell combo and given a bit of a run they'd be fine but neither has played much top table football lately and Drogba and Anelka are half decent strikers (assuming one or both are going to play). It will need a showing from both our guys to get something from this.
  13. I wouldn't bet on that tbh. Even if we do plan to sell him, get him in there and hope that he does well. Will get us more for him...which Ashley will then not reinvest in the club. But still... I have a theory that Ashley will feel that he has already invested the Saylor money on the squad. Saylor couldn't be sold in the summer window because he was injured but he will be unloaded in January to balance the transfer books. No capital outlay. I really think that no capital outlay means no money injected by Ashley for transfers. I don't think it means that the club always has to make a profit on transfer dealings. I must have phrased it badly because I mean pretty much what you say. I wasn't thinking that profits on transfers were intended either but more like a simple money in = money out policy. I have a feeling that, in this case though, the situation dictated that Ashley invested sale proceeds before they were received so in effect the transfer pot is "in the red" and needs to be topped up with the sale of a player to balance it.

  15. Barton punched someone without provocation for a laugh, mate. he was provoked, shoulder barged for no reason and also pederson was winding players up all night. On the money
  16. He missed a trick on Kuyt though I'll have you know that Glenn is still scouting Kuyt - the word is that he is concerned about his lack of pace.
  17. We are newly promoted (Ashley's a c*nt, and its his fault we're newly promoted etc etc etc) and some of us were expecting some truly horrible results this season. But the aim was to stay up and we really aren't out of the Premier League just yet.
  18. If they do he'll get a big cheque as a payoff and "Casa Ewood" will take its place in his property portfolio. He'd get another job as well...
  19. There's some c*nts in there for sure, but like any part of the ground its not all bad. Good view of the game and the catering is bordering on the acceptable but yeah some of the fans ffs. Whenever I come up I go for the best place I can get a seat and its normally the Milburn, but hey when I'm there I shout and fart like any true fan - it can get a bit lonely...
  20. For our next 3 matches, yes.
  21. He may be a c*nt but we're a better side with him on the pitch. He's done some horrible things in his time but he's killed no one (as yet). Footballers are rarely going to be evangelists. Looking forward to him being back playing for us.
  22. "Fergie say he want me to stay, I'm gonna find that f*cking contract and sign it"
  23. ad rather play routledge, hes delivery may be aaful but at least he has pace.
  24. just looked at the OP here "Joke Enrique" was another forum classic iirc.
