We all know it won't be that easy, even if we start well like we did today and actually get a lead this time as soon as 2nd half starts it will be a back to walls job. We'll see. I think next week will be a lot different to today, we should have more options off the bench, which would be a huge help in terms of not getting pegged back.

I think we'll be alright. Reckon we'll get a win out of the next 2 while Norwich get a point at most. I don't think the Mackems will get another win (either 1-1 or 2-1 to Stoke) and I think today will be Wigan's last victory too, 2-2 on Tuesday.

Think they'll draw on Monday.

They're a poor side, we can do them. Just got to hope Hatem's fully fit. -

Best line up he could have picked. Better late than never, Alan. -

I dunno re: Jonas. He was going to drop him against Villa when the new lads came in, but Marveaux got injured, so he's obviously need completely immune. I wouldn't be shocked to see him start on the bench, especially after getting taken off last week but I feel like I have no idea how we'll line up. My inkling is we'll see 4-4-2 with a more experienced back 4, but in terms of who fits in where, it's hard to tell. I know talk is cheap but Pardew's thrown me with some comments this week, I think he'll genuinely try something different. More fool me -

Aye, that's a good line up to me, Kanji. The midfield's key, we really need to be getting the balance right. They've got Diame in there but overall, our quality is much, much better, we just to need to get it functioning as a unit. -

Think we'll be going 4-4-2 going off Pardew's comments about needing to attack more. -
I hope tomorrow sees him play in the position Toure takes up at City, we need some proper power and legs in there, especially against Diame. Those driving runs would be more effective from deep when he'd actually have some options to pass to.

Right you are, I forgot about those 'players who've experienced relegation' comments.

The word experience has been on the mouths of everyone this week, started off by Neville with his little rant, the press have picked up on it and I imagine the vast majority of journalists' questions will have been on the subject.

I'm feeling a bit better as well, at least it's West Ham and QPR and not Man Utd and Chelsea. If we've spent the week rebuilding team spirit and preparing well, there's no reason we can't get something. I think a bit too much is being read into the 'lack of experience' quote, I really doubt all these horror team selections will come to pass. At least I hope not anyway, or we're f***ed. Too right it's being read into too much. I don't like or rate the bloke, as a person or manager, and I don't want him here but his comments this week have been far more positive, and yet one line (initially posted without context) and everyone's on to it. I've never understood why his every word is presented line by line and absolutely ripped apart. Guess it's just a way for people to express their general dislike, which I suppose is fair enough to a certain extent. I understand it when the general theme of what he's saying is negative, as it has been most weeks this season, I've joined in plenty. But the overriding feeling from this week is far more positive, one line gets posted and it's a barrage of outrage. -

His comments this week have been fine, he's been a lot more positive and said we need to get goals and be more attacking, this is what everyone wanted, right? Those West Ham comments are fine too, he says we can make it up in energy and quality, he's pretty much saying we have higher calibre players.

Feeling more and more up for this as the week passes, think we're going to do well. -
It's better late than never. Fair play to him, I expected him to come out and say we needed to defend better after that shambles. It takes guts to say that in the position we're in, I didn't think he had it in him.
-
Those comments have actually raised my confidence for the game a bit, there's more quotes in there about setting up to be more attacking, which is so much better than 'X are great, we'll have to watch out and be organised to get a result blah blah blah'.

Fucking hell, finally! “We need to play a brand of football which threatens the goal a little bit more because if you say to me what is my biggest concern I would say ‘goals’. “I have just conceded six but sometimes if you are threatening the goal a little bit more you don’t need to defend as often and you can defend with a little more confidence.'
