This is stupid on so many levels. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=704747
  4. Appalling show of support there, detestable wankers.
  5. How does he know how to select the right system - is this the fabled move to 343 late in the season that worked out well in the end? If so, why didn't he move to it earlier in the season and instead had them in a position where they were almost a certainty for going down? Whatever it is that gets Wigan going when the pressure is off and it's backs to the wall I'm not sure how it's applicable in a context like Liverpool's where he'll be expected to have them challenging at the top end of the table. The fact is young and has the potential to get better is true for every young(ish) manager. He also has the potential to fail miserably and get worse. Personally, I would rather appoint someone with the required experience for a job as complicated and challenging as this if I was their owners. And I include somebody like AVB in that if they want to go young and promising, which would be understandable. Going by your logic Pep Guardiola wouldn't have been appointed by Barça. Experience is completely over-rated, each situation is different and there's no way of guaranteeing one person will do a good job no matter their track record. Perhaps it's actually better their owners think outside of the box and take a risk considering the experienced route has completely fucked them over so far and cost them a shit load of money. I don't think he's as weak as you suggest, he can serve up better football than his predecessor(s) and at a smaller price.

    Unwisely mocking our signing already.
  7. Yeah, Gourcuff's not your average player (in a personality sense) and isn't a troublemaker. He wasn't the problem then, it was the dickheads he was playing with.
  8. Would be glorious if West Ham didn't make it into the Prem and Keane and Allardyce met each other in the Championship next year.

15 clean sheets but our defence is dodgy Jesus christ.
  10. If Martinez went there now, it would be the biggest mistake of his career.
  11. Benarfaofficial ‏ @Benarfaofficial Today program : family, press interviews and if i have time enough, football party with my childhood friends…
  12. As a sidenote, it's amazing how an opinion can change on a player when they're not one of yours. I've never been his biggest fan but I thought he was OK when he played for us and didn't mind him, now I think he's a complete div and am irritated by pretty much everything he says.
  13. Surprised at how many want a new midfielder in, Jonas looked very good there and we have Marveaux, who while needing to prove his fitness, has shown he's a good footballer and looks really suited to a 3 man midfield. While I like and certainly wouldn't want to get rid of Ba, i'd sooner be looking to bring someone to challenge him on that side before another midfielder.
  14. He genuinely seems a little demented
  15. I'd argue it's more the tactics we tend to employ in a 4-4-2 than the formation itself.
  16. Gary Birtles' reaction to it was hilarious. 'Oh think you're a big man are you? Coward' Said with the famous Birtles scorn of course.
  17. I thought that was a really good showing for someone that's played just a few matches in 18 months. His touch was good in the main and feel for passing was as if he'd been playing the majority of the season.
  18. He's a bit like Tiote, calm and quiet off the pitch but get him on it and he just turns into something else.
  19. What an effort. Sod's law that this season comes around when i'm away for a year but what can you do, hopefully it'll be as good next year when I can make it to every game
  20. Hopefully today showed him that we've got more potential with 4-3-3 and he'll have that as our primary formation to build with over the summer. Great season from him, absolutely brilliant work to get some of the performances he has out of certain players.
  21. Not his greatest showing today. Hopefully with some extra additions in the summer on the defensive side, Pards will let him have a bit more freedom.
