I think signing 'great' players is a few seasons away. What we need is someone to help grow the club to a point where the club, as much as it's manager, becomes the big selling point.

This is maybe a bit harsh. It's an obvious statement but football is a very unique industry and no one is going to come from the outside, with no one inside the club to assist and guide, and get it right immediately. They are in such a difficult situation because they are expected to, and in a lot of respects have to, hit the ground running. That's such a big ask of them.

While it's disappointing, my way of dealing with whoever comes in is that they are an improvement on Bruce. For this year, all we need is for someone to get a little bit of a tune out of the players, get us to at least 17th, then we can kick on next season. If it's Howe then from 4 weeks ago, that's an upgrade. Fuck Emery. His loss.

How does Unai Emery have such an in depth knowledge of what Eddie's Howe's philosophy is or what it would be for NUFC as it stands today ? I don't recall ever hearing a manager complain about another candidate before, especially when seemingly being the number one choice. Seems very odd to me.
