I think Gerrard has an awful lot to do to make himself worthy of the Liverpool job, given where Klopp has taken them. I know it'd be a sentimental appointment but unless he really proves himself at PL level, he could take Liverpool back a long way. I'm not convinced Bruce is intelligent enough to be so calculated. I think he was just a bone idle, ignorant, oaf who knew his boss didn't give a fuck about the football side of the club.

I think it's fair for people to be prepared to give him a chance under a proper manager and coach. Poor sod has only known Steve Bruce. I'm sure no one is expecting a world class player to suddenly emerge but under better guidance, he might just be able to play a part.
