  1. time we faced up to it. come the end of Jan we are goiing to be right in the thick of it
  2. Releagation battle?? Not going to happen. I know its pantomime season but.... Oh yes it is
  3. Salako just said "Boos are ringing out at Anfield"
  4. 10 points behind Citeh, Everton and Villa is a piss poor return at this stage considering our games to come isn't it? Aye, I think so. Thats why I am fearful of us getting dragged into the lower set. Starts to get into the mind set and it just gets harder to pull out of it.
  5. Really need those 3 points tomorrow. The division between the top and bottom starting to appear now.... could really doiing with making sure we keep on the coat tails of West Ham
  6. Who is he kidding... " I should have punched it". Fuck off. My 4 year old daughter could have caught that
  7. Wasnt Sol Campbell offside ?
  8. Another fucking stupid penalty kick run-up.
  9. Some great cliche's from Southgate there
  10. And that old Classic "it would have been a different game"
  11. I just wish he would cut out that diving/cheating side of his game.
  12. Cheers mate Soz mate. We're a bit unpredictable at home, so you never know. If you get that 4th spot ahead of Liverpool I shall come around and celebrate with you mate. It would make my fucking season to see Liverpool get nowt but a UEFA spot. P.S. For any Pool fans reading, nothing personal, just pure jealousy at the fact that trophies are attracted to you like flies around shit.
  13. That will teach Southgate to stick his huge fucking nose into our business. Should be concentrating on his own bunch of halfwits.... ...rather than our bunch of halfwits!

  15. Was just going to mention him. That lad was pure skill and flair. Didnt look like Sam tried to stifle him at all. Plus, Youri Djorkaeff was a skillful lad too
  16. Not really. He took us from bottom to 11th in his first season. Plus a semi final we should have won. The second season he got hit by injuries but he consolidated our position. From then on in it was top 5. The point is that the improvement was obvious. It doesnt appear that way at present. I agree... Although I remember losing 2-0 away at Charlton (maybe Nov/Dec time ?) and they were fucking awful. It was the next game after the players had been "treated" to a break away in Spain or somewhere like that. I remember being furious at what was going on. But truthfully, on the whole yes, improvement was evident.
  17. For me, up until recently, I was very much a supporter of the "MUST stick with Sam". I would really love for him to succeed a) for us and b) to prove that there can be good English manager's out there. The only thing that had swayed me in the opposite direction is the recent spate of games against very poor opposition which for me, have suggested the spectre of relegation is very much over our shoulder. None of us can be so confident to say "we wont get relegated" If we were even 6 points further ahead at this stage I probably wouldnt think twice. All I ask from Sam at this stage (or perhaps once we get Arsenal/Man U away) out of the way, is just enough nous to get enough points on the board to be happy that we wont go down. Once we get there, I will happily sit back and just accept that whatever happens is just part of the re-building programme.
  18. Southgate should be concerning himself with keeping Middlesbrough in the Premiership to be honest. Why is he so bothered to come out and say Shearer needs to make an announcement Tryign to take the pressure off Middlesbrough by putting it on Newcastle? Spot on. Just because they won at Portsmouth he obviously thinks he can start relaxing and start pointing the finger at other clubs
  19. This isnt good enough for Southgate He wants Shearer to make a publlic announcement NOW !
  20. Am sure Alan will be very happy about Gareth trying to put him on the spot. Cue on twatting the next time they see each other
  21. Fair point, but we actually do have a five year plan to be playing in the CL (I think they're de rigeur for all new owners these days - I know West Ham have one, for instance). Admittedly, we're further into it, but that's probably the measure of how large the gulf is between the top four and the rest. Obviously, as you said, it depends what the five year plan is to achieve. What is going to be interesting is that there are the current top four, then there are quite a large group of second tier (and a few third tier - West Ham, Blackburn for example) clubs who all have money and all want the same thing, the problem being, they can't all have the same thing. I don't think how much money you spend is necessarily going to be the crucial factor in the same way it was in the past, but that's probably another argument. Sven has taken the bit of paper with 5 year plan written on it screwed it up and thrown it in the bin. They will compete for CL next year. That remains to be seen. Man City have a somewhat short term look to them (see above post). There's also a long time left in this season, let's see how they do in the remainder. Their youth system is already producing players - 3 are playing in the first team. You have the same problem as us MON and SA are good managers in their own right, but IMO lack something at the highest levels..We'll both need a change for the final assault on the summit. Look out for Spurs next year btw. Ramos is looking serious. Of course, but thats due to the previous regime. What will be interesting to see, is if Sven's buying policy has an adverse affect on the kids currently being brought through the system. Of course it will. But to compete for a CL place you need to buy top tier players. Viscious circle isnt it. Makes you wonder whether you can produce great kids whilst being a champions league club. Even Man U dont seem to bringing any through now. Cant think of any at Chelsea, Liverpool... not sure. Only Arsenal are bringing "kids" through but none of these are english
  22. No, you're right. And neither should they be, its US who should have been more aware of the fact that he's an arsehole, and not signed him in the first place. Unfortunately, Sam just a bit too confident in his ability to calm "Bad Boys" down. Barton is of a level which he hasnt come across before. El Hadj Diouf is a pussy cat by comparison
