  1. Makes Sibierski look like Van Basten. This gentleman in a team as bad as ours is not a good mix.
  2. Whatever level you look at it on, that game was an absolute disgrace.
  3. Can imagine Wenger watched him today and thought he may make a move for him at some point. Probably the only player we've got good enough for their squad which is rather depressing. Unless we have some serious investment may end up following Hamann's example.
  4. Thought we were fine tonight all things considered. Set up well, had some decent pressure towards the end. Just have some rather limited players in certain important positions which keeps costing us.
  5. Games like that make me wonder which is more shite, our team or our fans? Probably a no score draw on tonight's showing.
  6. Clark's positional sense has always been questionable, some of the goals we've been conceding recently have been highlighting this. No coincidence we're shipping goals like crazy and he was in a Villa side that conceded 194 goals in his last three seasons there. And in his final season he struggled to get games being bottom of the pecking order, behind defensive illuminati's like Vlaar, Senderos, Baker and Cissokho. Just a Championship player. Like quite a few of our current squad.
  7. Think Clark's 'eyes closed' style to positional defending means he's looked worse in the last few games than he actually is. Think he'll play a lot better alongside Lascelles.
  8. An outstanding Championship player, will always work his arse off just doesn't have that extra bit of quality for this level. He's still a decent Premier league player with good delivery and technique, but certainly not one to help us win a match from nothing. Again if he was our biggest problem we'd be in a much better position than we are now.
  9. Looked sharp as anything for the first 30 minutes or so then understandably got tired and completely drifted out of the game. The fact he still looked more effective than Joselu even when he barely moved is quite a damning indictment of our current strikeforce.

    Jacob Murphy

May look shit (which he has) but really needs matches for confidence. Or we signed the wrong twin of course.
  11. We have a limited squad currently. And I would personally like to see Mitro get a run but he's clearly done something pretty bad (aside from what we've seen on-field) to be this low down the pecking order. In Rafa we trust.
  12. Really? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/oct/25/mikel-merino-newcastle-borussia-dortmund-attack-team-bus-rafael-benitez
  13. Would like to see Merino given a shot in the number 10 role like he plays for Spain. Albeit we missed him (and Hayden) in the middle last night.
  14. Terrified he could go to Everton now. His family is still based there no?
  15. Was our top scorer in the league in 97-98. With six. Cheers Kenny Daggers. Miles past it then as well. With Watford and for a time at Liverpool he made things look effortless. Didn't help he played in an era when English fans were still in a Neanderthal era when it came to racism.
  16. Have to say thought some of the other defenders could have pushed out to close down the space, Manquillo forced him away from goal but a bit of extra support rather than ball watching would have helped. Either way I'd fancy 90% of Premier League keepers to have got down to that one. That and his diabolical punch attempt from a corner when Van Djik should have scored meant he was pretty poor again.
  17. Incredibly simplistic but probably about as well as I've seen it put.
  18. Was just discussing this with a Brighton supporting mate - we think the deal could only go through permanently on January 1st, so still may not be eligible. Bit of a grey area one in all honesty. Either way Ryan would start over Krul.
  19. Gone for good - https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/2017/september/krul-completes-permanent-move2/
  20. Just seems to me that's he's our weakest link right now. Will be very surprised if he remains first choice after the January window closes. Until then I hope he performs above himself, but will still rage and call him "pieman" every time he makes a mistake or goes down in stages like with the goal yesterday.
  21. Pieman strikes again. League One keeper for a Premier League side.
