  1. Absolutely stunned at how he's been recently. Actually using his strength and winning more than his fair share of 50/50s. Still can't pass a ball, but that's what Shelvey's for.
  2. Two for him and two for Armstrong today. Would quite like to see them as a little and large partnership. Sadly would most likely be for our Under 23s. Before Beardo goes postal on the pair of them.
  3. Probably needs a game for or two Algeria to at least get back match sharpness. Obviously not if it's going to injure him further mind.

    U23s & Academy

Nice to see the Sunderland U23s pulling in the same sort of crowd as the first team.
  5. Think this guy is miles better than Clark. Looking more and more solid as he plays a run of games. Think him and Lascelles could be the difference between Championship and Premier League football next season.
  6. We’re just a Sports Direct football team. Bargain basement, too good for the Championship (currently) and too poor for the Prem. Not really doing much for me from an entertainment perspective either, but that’s just the way football is when it comes to the haves and the have nots. At least we’re not Sunderland.
  7. Missed a punch, sliced a kick and let one go through his legs. Quick, better hound him out of the club.
  8. Just let them play the match, then at the end go over every decision and change the score accordingly. Means teams will always have to attack as you wouldn't know if you're winning 2-0 or actually 0-1 down. Exactly the kind of wonderful idea I can imagine the brains of World football backing wholeheartedly.
  9. If he ends up scoring one goal that wins us 3 points then it'll probably still be worth it. Plus every second he plays and I don't have to watch Joselu will be a blessing too.
  10. Three Irish legends there That's not the Corr sisters, mate. This didn't get anywhere near the amount of love it deserved.

    Paul Dummett

Still have nightmares about Simpson’s aimless diagonal clipped crosses into the box. Bloody awful and the amount of times he scuppered promising moves drove me crazy. Dummett is limited from an attacking sense but is aware of that. He’ll make occasional runs to take pressure off the man on the ball and create space, but if he does get a chance to hit a first time cross he will. Pretty basic but doesn’t turn over possession needlessly when high up the pitch. Fair enough he suffers from moments of safety first defending but with our current limitations would rather have the chance to reset and defend than get caught out giving it away too close to our own goal.

    Adam Armstrong

Turned 21 less than a week ago.
  13. The only manager in history to have a string of bad results end with the Chairman and Chief Executive sacked rather than him? - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/feb/13/west-brom-sack-chairman-chief-executive-john-williams-martin-goodman Will think he's bulletproof now

    Paul Dummett

Has been spot on since he returned from injury. Always committed, defensively solid and while is lacking in quality in some areas, his crossing (from albeit a relatively small sample) has seemed a bit improved. His strengths suit the type of football we're playing and the way we're currently set up. Will be his curse that the better the team get, the more at risk he'll be from an 'upgrade'.
  15. Has been a bit unlucky so far with injuries, specifically that one against Spurs must have felt like a nightmare especially after such an impressive pre-season. Even if he does have dips over the next few matches, still think it’s worth perservering with him over Clark.
  16. Leaving one shithouse owner to go to a club with two? I'd be surprised.
  17. Started well and some positives from some of our build up play in the first half an hour or so. End of 1st half and 2nd just crap really. Practically played with 10 given how ineffectual Perez was. Sky’s one-eyed shirt pulling coverage was embarrassing. Lascelles literally man-handled when trying to attack a free kick, then when Clark pulls a shirt when having his pulled a stonewall pen? What a crock. Can’t wait for VAR just so we can have five penalties a match going by that nonsense. Saying all that, probably a point was fair on the balance of the match. So no complaints other than all my complaints. And I wish Jamie Redknapp would just fuck off.
  18. Just remember the classic quotes about Shearer in training, where they said he looked pretty average. It was only on match days where he performed to the levels which made him a top level goalscorer. Not claiming Mitro would be quite like that, but interesting that he wasn't picked due to his training stats.
  19. So what are the odds Mitro will score more goals for Fulham than Slimani and Joselu will manage between them for us in the same amount of time?
  20. Thought he was fine but nothing special against what on the night was a pretty poor Burnley midfield. Really that kind of performance should have long been the rule, not the exception.
  21. Just can’t fathom what Mitro did to be considered worse than him by Rafa. Would accept a cheese sandwich in a swap deal for him and I don’t really like cheese very much.
  22. Oh Joselu. It’s gone beyond shit, I just feel sorry for him. Needs to be playing for a club in front of a few thousand in matches rarely televised.
  23. They just as a likely point to Ashley being a cheap bastard and doing just above the bare minimum to stay up.
  24. You’d think people here aren’t spending every waking moment playing Football Manager with the lack of knowledge over loan rules. You only live once lads, get your priorities straight. On FM Newcastle can actually sign players!
  25. People have refreshed this forum a lot.
