  1. Townsend can impress in flashes without doubt, but shoots so often from crazy places. Berahino I just don't rate and think his attitude stinks. Just feel like some of these signings reek of panic. Feel like we're starting to look a bit like QPR in waiting. Really hope I'm wrong and it's just the recent negativity getting to me, just seem like the wrong type of signings for the wrong amount of money.
  2. Must say one of the most underwhelming signings we've had in a while. I knew Colback was shite, but at least he was free. Hope he proves me wrong.

Against Watford some of the repertoire included slagging off the Watford fans for being crap fans, singing that the toon fans are the best in the world, then singing that our team is s***. Surely the best fans in the world won't boo their own players and sing songs about how s*** we are? Not exactly the most encouraging songs for a team clearly lacking in confidence? But hey, we showed those Watford fans. All they had to take home from the match was a win.
  4. Get Dean Ashton out of retirement.
  5. SOLD! Like we don't have enough non-tackling midfielders on our books. I hope your French mate is talking s***. Well he's the head French Researcher on Football Manager so knows a fair bit about the French league, but we'll see as he's not spoken to the Bordeaux researcher in a while.
  6. He was crap man. Could hit a decent long range pass, but then would stand there for five seconds admiring it. Had no common sense as a footballer, his movement off the ball was woeful which meant he never actually got the ball in a position to do anything with it. The fact he's had three clubs since us and done little at any of them speaks volumes. Guthrie wasn't crap like. Limited definitely, but not in any way crap. I don't believe in looking at player's or manager's abilities outside of when they were here anyway because it changes nothing. Guthrie had had very good seasons with us in 09/10 and 11/12 and nothing before or since really changes that. short term memories around because we absolutley needed him to step in Cabaye's role and performed when we needed it. Shame his fitness levels were not very good because he was technically a good free kick taker, passer of the ball, and had some good vision too. Looking back wistfully on Guthrie's time here just shows how starved we've been for quality footballers in the middle over the last decade.
  7. Have been speaking to a French guy who I work with who follows Ligue 1 very closely. He said: SOLD!

  9. Yeah pretty much sums up my thoughts on the current situation.
  10. Shelvey is overrated and has major attitude problems. Should fit right in.
  11. For a start Roofe is a midfielder which may be why his goal tally is more impressive.
  12. Most of the players we're linked with I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Would rather get bloody Cisse back in than play Berahino. Overrated massively and a prick to boot. Just what the club need.
  13. He's brave when going in for challenges he has no chance of winning. Most of his service is crap but he's definitely missed some guilt edged chance over the last few weeks. Nowhere near as bad as some people are making out. Some players need time to adapt, especially younger players who haven't played in a league as competitive and physical as the PL. People are crying out for a striker but for me it's everywhere else that needs addressing first. Got to get a LB who is capable of passing the ball, the entire midfield needs replacing (except perhaps Gini who needs playing in a position he's suited to). People who want, make movement for and are capable of passing the ball in the centre are the biggest thing holding back the performance of the team currently. The lack of goals hurt of course, but if we were making good chances every week consistently, the odd guilt edged chance would be a side note, not the entire story.

It looked like he got a knock on his calf as he went down, however he kept flicking his hand around so I think at first some fans thought he'd hurt his hand and that was a pathetic reason to stay down. By the time it became apparent he'd hurt his leg the fans were too invested in the 'not fit for the shirt' crap to back down.
  15. Sissoko the classic highlights player. There's a reason no bigger club comes in for him - in possession unless he has space he's distinctly average. Sloppy passes, dodgy touch and little creativity. Put him in a possession based team like Arsenal and he'd get found out.
  16. Sissoko only good on the break when he has loads of space to run into. Ask him to do anything else he's garbage. Lost count of the number of anonymous games Gini's played. Lost count of the number of aimless crosses we've hit this season. Watford were awful today but couldn't even take advantage of that.
  17. McClaren just threw his bottle down in disgust after Perez broke into box and attempted a pass.
  18. Perez just curled one just wide. Thuavin on for Mbabu who looked at confused as the crowd given how well he's played. Our fans saying "how s*** must you be it's only one nil" then following it up with "your support is fucking shit" at the Watford fans with no sense of irony.
  19. In terms of chances, Janmaat blasted one at the keeper early on when he should have scored; broke down the right and cut one back for Perez he should have side footed in but pulled it wide; Mbabu cut inside and hit one which Gomes saved well and Mitro had a side/back header from a cross which wasn't miles over. Watford have been awful and aside a Watson set piece which missed everyone and Elliott has to be sharp with to push wide never looked close to scoring. Until they did
  20. We have played well, we've won the ball back a fair bit and looked okay going forward. Just wish the tactic wasn't attack down the right then hit a s*** cross into the box. Mbabu has looked good down the left the few times he's been passed the ball, willing to run at the defence. The difference between Mbemba and Dummett passing the ball out from the back is staggering. Pitch is cut up and only going to get worse. Don't think it's the sort of match to suit Thuavin. Would give it 10 mins in the second and only then change it. Perez should have scored as well, other than that and some decent looking set pieces he's struggled a bit to get into the game. Think that's more down to our midfield than him.
  21. Half we dominate then go ahead and do that. A few shocking poor short passes this half, Tiote and Sissoko the worst but that pass from Gini. Fuck me, a five year old would have been embarrassed by that.
  22. Both him and Ginger Pirlo give the ball away too cheaply or play others into trouble. Those two together would be a concern. Both are also a liability when it comes to lunging in.
