  1. I'd love to see an NUFC TV channel. Living down in London it's enough of a mission to watch first team games, so to get the opportunity to watch reserve and youth team matches would be spot on. Get 'Killer' to present it mind, showed his TV skills on SSN the other day!
  2. The thing is we're all being a bit quick to judge - just because he isn't some foreign superstar for a stupid transfer fee doesn't mean he can't do a job and potentially be a very good player for us. We all know Keegan can make players play with that little bit extra. Imagine what the boards would have been like if they'd been like this when Keegan signed Rob Lee.
  3. Always looked alright when I saw him playing for Bolton. In fairness, when playing for Bolton I can imagine it's fairly restrictive in the terms of how you play your football. Clearly he's highly rated by someone if old Liverpool folk keep taking a look (first little Sam and now Keegan and Mc). Didn't look out of place in the games against Bayern and Sporting as far as I can recall. If cheap not a bad investment - but this is saying if actually true because we all know local rags aren't the most reliable when it comes to the truth.
  4. Totally ridiculous thing for the player to come out and say now. If you think you're disappointed reading this, imagine how Keegan must be feeling this morning.
  5. "All London Evening papers" There used to be two (there was one called the 'Evening News' in the 70s) now there is only one. Sorry, I don't know what you mean!!! There are now two London 'free' evening papers released, the London Lite and the London Paper, these are in direct competition with the Evening Standard and are given out to people free on the streets. Concentrate mainly on London-based Sports news, but do occasionally branch out if the story is juicy enough.
  6. Pretty certain the Standard is published by the same group who publish The Daily Mail so pretty much can guarantee it talks out of it's arse. All London evening papers are awful, it's just the Standard has been around for so long and actually charges for it some people think it's better than utter tripe. Expect the Daily Mail to cover this story ten-fold tomorrow, with special analysis paid to the somewhat derogatory remarks in regards to the Bin Laden family.

    Oba And Out

Anyone who watches the games knows Owen's general movement is so much better than Oba. Oba is more likely to do something unexpected and outstanding, but for bread and butter football, finishing and consistency I'd take Owen every time. I'm aware Owen missed some sitters last season, but he'd been out for so long, and only this year with a proper pre-season behind him and the opportunity to gel (and hopefully sign a new cheaper deal) with the team and get his confidence back to his highest. With Martins pace he should get many more chances than he does, but he ever so rarely makes the runs in behind defences - in fairness this does have a lot to do with lack of creativity and poor passes in the last few years. Maybe with a couple of players with real quality could make Martins a 20+ a season man, but at the moment he still has a lot of learning to do to improve his game.
  8. He sacked a manager he didn't hire as he felt he wasn't doing a decent job, he's cleared our debts, tried to get the club to emphasise on youth and scouting far and wide instead of relying on 'big name' signings, tried to improve the stadium atmosphere by making numerous changes and he's tried to lower the wage bill as many of our 'stars' are being paid far too much. What a scumbag.
  9. Someone change the title then!
  10. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4845/jonased3.jpg Good physical stats, not so good technical stats. In fairness in FM the stats are weighted that some players who have great physical stats will have technical stats not as high as they should be - look at players like Rommendahl, Agbonalhor and Walcott for examples of those who look worse than they are.
  11. Also don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but the player has Italian nationality so doesn't need any sort of work permit to play over here. Always a bonus because no need for even more random paperwork and such.
  12. Love the way we kept this 'hush hush', very much the Arsenal blueprint of making it undisclosed and keeping it quiet. Shame now we can look forward to the hacks writing 'he was a Wise signing as Keegan doesn't know anything about European football' Nah, got to keep positive, seems like a decent player, fingers crossed he can adapt to the Premiership and gets his chance.

    Viduka's future

D isn't even an option anyway, you can't just release a player of his wages, you'd have to pay up his contract because he'd have no reason to leave. I'm pretty certain it was a two-year deal rather than a one-year deal with an option for a years extension. So option D would actually be give him almost £4m to get his wages off the wage bill.
  14. what did he exactly say? at the end of the sharapova match yesterday she was signing a russian flag and he said 'oh, she's signing a russian flag there, she's been watching all of their games in the euro's, i watched them beat holland the other night and i have to say that little guy from st. petersburg is really quite something' Surely that was Barry Davies, ex-football commentator who covered numerous major international tournaments for the BBC? To be honest if it was him I think he'd know a thing or two about football anyway!

    Chamakh

Decent striker on FM.... ....I'll get me coat.
  16. I'd be quite surprised if Arshavin ended up at Arsenal, even with Hleb going, Rosicky will be fit for the new season, they've just gone and signed Ramsey and Nasri and from all accounts they have more than a few talented midfielders coming through the youth and reserve teams. However as people have said, a quality player is a quality player, and Wenger does have a history of signing those. Would love it if he ended up here, but like everyone else have to be realistic and say it's rather unlikely.
  17. He can play nearly anywhere in an attacking role. For Zenit he often swapped wings, but can also play as a second striker and has rarely played through the middle. Obviously his size means he'll be unlikely to play centrally in the Premiership.

    Arda Turan?

Just hit the post! Has looked decent so far.

    Arda Turan?

In fairness Tuncay just had one of his absolute stinker days. He can look amazing, but is all too prone to having a complete awful game once in a while. They had pace with Nihat, they just never had that forward target to use and hold up the ball to bring players in the game. Certainly miss a Hakan Suker type player up front.
  20. I think the club are finally getting to the place where they want to be, stopping spending ridiculous wages on players - signing albeit a world class player for 200k wouldn't really make much sense to be honest.
  21. Although I felt Roz had a decent game, the Swiss weren't exactly the most potent attacking force, I lost count of the amount of time they had 9 or 10 players behind the ball. Still rate him as a player, but a few too many 'heart in mouth' type passes or touches to be considered a reliable centre-back. Still think he could potentially have a future with us, depends who we bring in, who we let go and what style of football we're going to try and play next season.
  22. Fecking hell, if you're gonna post FM Screenshots, you might as well post up-to-date ones!

    Nobs Out

If we ever need to bring in a technical coach for the youth I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather see. Let him go back to Boca to finish his career, hopefully get the family stuff sorted and then get him in!
  24. Two words - Freddy Shepherd. Says it all really.
